i am working on creating a GUI.vi to read data from the datalogger and the same should be used to set the date ,time,etc.i am thinking of using VISA to read data through serial port(COM1),that interface is available.but when i tried to read data from the logger i am getting timeout error.what should i do ?i am using the example given with labview 7.0 .can any one suggest me what all things i need to do if i want to read datalogger to a file.Is there any one who workrd on this.please reply me as early as possible,

The LabVIEW <-> Serial.vi is a good example that allows for writing commands to an instrument and reading back from it using a VISA Session. One of the inputs on this VI is the Resource Name. You need to ensure that the name of your serial port is in this drop down menu, so that the program is sending and receiving data from the correct place.
The VI is setup so that you can send a command to the external device, and then receive data back. I am not sure about the Spectrum 4000, but most devices have commands that they receive to tell the device which data to send back over the serial port. The VI has a default string to write of *IDN?, which is a common command that tells the instrument to return an ident
ity string. The fact that the program is timing out for you indicates that the program never received any data from the device. Either the device is not configured to automatically send data, or the correct command is not being sent to the device. Your datalogger manual may be able to help you determine what serial commands it needs to receive to send the data out you expect.

For combined delivery you have to make some settings
In the customer master XD01/VD01 in the shipping tab you have to check the ORDER COMBINATION in the SHIPPING TAB
In the COPY CONTROLS from Order to Delivery in VTAL at the Header you have to maintain the COMBINATION REQUIREMENT as 051
And also the data like
INCO TERMS,
SHIP TO PARTY
DELIVERY DATE
ROUTE
SHIPPING POINT
should be same for all the Orders
To combine the Deliveries into Invoice
you have to maintain the copy controls from DELIVERY TO BILLING in VTFL at the item level as 003
And also certain data like
PAYMENT TERMS
PAYER
BILLING DATE
ACTUAL GI DATE
INCO TERMS
should be same for all the deliveries

I am trying to read only the year part from the system date & then checking if any entry exists in EKKO table (EKKO-BEDAT) for the year. I think i am making an error in my data declaration for V_YEAR & in my select statement (EKKO~BEDAT LIKE V_YEAR), not sure how to compare only the year part, can someone help.
DATA:
    V_EBELN TYPE EKPO-EBELN,
    V_YEAR TYPE SY-DATUM.
CLEAR: V_EBELN, V_YEAR.
*Read year from system date
V_YEAR = SY-DATUM+0(4).

Thanks for the inputs, but it is not working:
Move:      sy-datum(4) to v_begda, -> This reads the system year 2008
        '0101'     to v_begda, -> This changes 2008 to 0101
        sy-datum(4) to v_endda, -> This reads system year i.e. 2008
        '1231'     to v_endda. -> This changes 2008 to 1231
Also in the select statement
AND EKKO~BEDAT between v_begda and v_endda
This would not work, as EKKO-BEDAT is in year month date format.
So can you please clarify why we are assigining 0101 & 1231 & also how we can compare only the year in EKKO-BEDAT with System Year

I tried to
concatenate '0101 into v_begda.
concatenate '1231' into v_endda.
but system prompts "charlike-field" expected after "'0101'"
Can you please advice?

How do I upload a movie to Iphone without wiping all **** data from it including music and photos?

I have this iPhone, I've been asked to upload 3 movies to it, since they failed to do that. I'm a heavy Android user and I'm so ****** off that I have to deal with all this We have 2.5 GB left, I want to delete a movie but there's no Delete option anywhere in right click menu or the window. I wanted to try and upload atleast one movie but you can't drag and drop into iTunes or something. I figured out in the very beginning that you've gotta sync the computer to it, but if I wanna do that it threatens me with total removal of data from my friend's iPhone. I authorized the computer, logged into iTunes, turned home sharing on. Pressed all buttons literally (except those which approve the phone wipe )

Trying to Pull data from ECC data loading but all garbag values

I am trying to pull the data from sap ECC. Standard extractor (2LIS_VA_ITM) & 2LIS_VA_HDR. I have imported 2LIS_11_VAITM in ODP objects.
I have created the flow.
I ran the job. It has been completed successfully. It loaded the records. But all the records are not readable format(Garbage values ???).
This is data service 4.2 SP1. Can you please let me know how can I correct this.

What are the system requirements to develop ipad apps?

So I'm in the Apple store with $10k burning a hole in my pocket. I am a windows developer and now want to start developing mobile apps for the ipad and iphone that will go as far as magazines with video.
But no-one has a clue what system I need. The only thing they will say is...anything that runs snow leopard.
Well, that's a bit of an issue. I need something with some obvious horsepower in ram and on the harddisk. Since apple manages memory and code differently than a windows machine, I have no idea what to buy. Do I need a dual processor or not?
So I'm in the store and I register online to the ios sdk, because they are quoting a readme document that details the full system requirements. But it's nowhere to be found. I am then told that I have to download the whole sdk to get access to this readme document. Funny, but I haven't bought the system yet to download it to.....chicken and egg, right?
So can someone out there please tell me how much it's going to cost to get into the game, to create the magazines with video content, similar to National Geographic? I don't want to buy some cheap leopard machine only to find out that I can't upgrade the memory or that I have to get a different machine because what I bought was inadequate for my applications, because it wasn't fast enough to process etc....
To develop a magazine with video and photo content, similar to National Geographic, what system do I need to purchase, and what are the exact specs on memory and processors etc....

I know nothing about iOS; however, the best machine, IMO, would be the new 27" i7 iMac. Get 3rd-party RAM to go to 16 GB, and get the video card update. Whether or not you want an SSD is a personal choice. For me, it's not worth the cost, just get a 2 TB internal HD. That's all the hand-holding I can offer.

Before going any further in my research, I want to know the views and opinions about the intent of my work I am about to start.
AIM : I am trying to interface an external uvc camera with the ipad 2 and iphone .Just like in android there is a node(in unix and linux everythign is a file)which gets created in the /dev/ directory which can be accesses by the application using the native interfaces (JNI) and finally via the android code.I am trying to develop the similair application for the ipad 2 and iphone.
Can some one plz point out :
(1) How I can interface external hardware like ( external uvc camera) or any other USB device(a card reader, a storage device, a barometer etc)
(2) I have googled about Apple's Authentication chip which can be used to interface the external h/w.Can some one point out how useful it is.Is this related to that somehow.
(3)What are the things similair to JNI, node, /dev/ in the IOS for Ipad 2 and Iphone.
I will be highly obliged ,if some one could provide me the top pointers on it.

Joining 2 tables, all data from 1, data from 2 only when condition on 1 met

I am joining two tables on a single column, JOB_ID.
There is a one to many relationship between table1 and table2.
I want to report all rows from table1 (subject to criteria)
and all rows from table2 for the relevant JOB_ID but ONLY if a condition on table1 is met, ie table1.status != 'Ready'
I am using the join
table1.JOB_ID=table2.JOB_ID(+)
I tried
table1.JOB_ID=decode(table1.status,'Ready',-1,table2.JOB_ID)(+)
I use -1 because it will never exist, hoping to mean the join fails but with (+) will mean I still get the value from table1.
However, it runs "forever"
Any suggestions, please?

select .. from table1 left join (table2) on ( table1.JOB_ID=table2.JOB_ID and table1.status != 'Ready')

Help: Not getting all data from text data type

I have a stored procedure that returns a couple of fields and one of the fields is of datatype TEXT. In my ResultSet, I do not get all the data back that is stored in the TEXT datatype. I have say about 600 charactors in this field, but only 30 charactors are returned. Is there a reason why this is happening and how can I fix it?

I set that field to have a normal string of about 50 charactors. Namely: "this is a note that is about 49 charactosrs long." (exclude the quotes). And I still got 30 charactors back only.
I set a shorter text value of 21 charactors and that returned all 21 charactors.
The text that is usually in this field is:
"URL=SubsidiaryNarrative.html�BABY_CARE_PRODUCTS=false�AIDS_FOR_PHYSICALLY_DISABLED=false�SPORT_SUPPLEMENTS=true�NATURAL_REMEDIES=false�COSMETICS_FRAGRANCE=false�WOMANS_HEALTH=false�ADDITIONAL_CARDS=No�EXERCISE_ROUTINE=Yes�NUMBER_OF_CHILDREN=0"
And I got out "URL=SubsidiaryNarrative.html�B"

What adobe program can open, edit and save eps vector files?

I have an engraver that accepts only eps vector drawings. I need a program that can open zipped eps files so I can view, edit and print those drawings. I need to leave them as eps drawings to use with my machine.

Following a problem with my IPad and restoring it, I have lost the data in one of my game Apps ... I can see in ITunes/ pref my iPad back ups and want to try to sync with an older back up to get the data back. So how can I sync with an oldera back up?

In that same window - the one where you see your backups - click on the box at the bottom that say -Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads form syncing automatically. Then click OK and quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to the computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side under the devices heading and select - Restore from backup. A window will pop up from which you can select any of the backups that you have for the iPad. Select the backup that you want to restore from and then go agreed and restore the iPad. Sync with iTunes when you are done.
Remember that when you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup to the iPad. You cannot selectively restore content. It is all or none.

Adobe Reader X:Recurring issues with print and save requiring reinstalls

One of our staff has recurring issues with PDF print, view, save. These issue are temporarily resolved by re-installing the Reader from the Adobe website. No error messages are displayed - the functions just cease to work. In the most recent iteration of the issue a document attached to an email could be saved (right mouse click, save as) within the email program but not within the Reader itself.
It appears that Reader is getting corrupted - but by what? This individual does a lot of downloading of web published PDFs - a possible source but one I can't confirm.
Information on a permanent resolution or known cause would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks v much Twilight - once I had posted the question I saw the same issues were posted by another.
I'll try the print as image under the advanced print tab and see how I get on with that. Hopefully Adobe will bring out a fix soon.
