What are infotypes subtypes?

Hi,
what are infotypes subtypes? What is the difference between between two? Can any one give Payroll HR infotypes and payroll subtypes?
Thanks

Hi,
Infotypes are specific to HR.
They are used to store employee specific data in HR.
Subtypes comes in picture when there are requirement of storing more than one variant of information for that particular infotype.
e.g. ADDRESSS (0006), can store home address, office address, permanenet address, etc.
Check this link for information on infotypes -
http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/HRINF/HRINF.pdf
As for your other query, payroll specific infotypes they differe from country to country.
Here are for US -

    Hi,
An infotype is a 'record' or a 'screen' which holds data against an employee or PD object such as a position, org.unit etc.
A table stores values about an infotype and the way it will function.
Main program generates internal tables for infotypes at runtime.
Infotypes have an associated database table and a structure .

I am new to Infotypes . Please Explain in detail.

    hi raj
    se this might help you
    Infotypes
    Definition
Infotypes are units of information in the Human Resource Management System.
    Use
Recording employee data for administrative, time recording, and payroll purposes is of primary importance for master data administration in HR. In the SAP System, the information units used to enter master data are called infotypes.
Infotypes are used to group related data fields together. They provide information with a structure, facilitate data entry, and enable you to store data for specific periods.
    Structure
Infotypes are characterized by the following:
    Infotype structure
    Data entry
    Time-dependent storage of infotype data
    Infotype Structure
To the user, infotypes appear as data entry screens. They contain whole series of information (for example, last name, first name, date of birth) that you enter in data fields. Data fields concerning the same or similar subject matter are combined into data groups or information units.
In database terms, infotypes represent a data structure or set of related data records. When you update an infotype, old data is not lost but is instead stored in the system for historical evaluation purposes.
    Data Entry
You perform data entry as follows:
Your entries are automatically checked for accuracy and against table entries.
Predefined default values help you to enter and maintain data.
Checks and default values depend on the employee’s organizational assignment. The organizational assignment determines the relevant information used from time recording, wage type and pay scale structure.
    Time-Dependent Storage of Infotype Data
When you update an infotype, the old data may not be lost. Instead, it must be retained so that past data can be evaluated. When you update an employee’s personal data, the old data is automatically time-delimited. The system creates a validity period for each infotype record. As a result, each employee infotype has several data records that differ from each other by their validity periods.
You must also define how the various data records of one infotype interact with each other with respect to their validity periods. This time-based reaction is determined by the infotype Time Constraint.

  • What are infotypes in HR ABAP?

    Dear all,
kindly let me know the Infotypes Definitions.

    Hi,
Infotypes are also called information types and are pre-defined templates to enter sensible related information for an employee or applicant. for eg an address infotype would have fields like street & house no, city, pin code. This infotype is unique and is represented by an infotype number eg address has infotype no 0006. There other infotypes like
0000 - Actions (to capture employee movement info in the orgnization)
0001 - Organizational Assignment (to capture employee positioning in the organization)
    0002 - Personal Data
    0006 - Address
0007 - Planned Working Time (Store planned working hours for the employee.)
    0008 - Basic Salary
    0009 - Bank Details
    0014 - Recurring Payment
    0015 - Additional payment
    0016 - Contract Elements
    2006 - Absence Quotas
The above infotypes together in the same sequence form a part of the Hiring Action. To make you understand this better just try and recollect the contents of your offer letter which your organization might have given you. It would possibly read “We are delighted to offer you the position (IT 0001) of ______. You will belong to ______ department (IT 0001). Your joining date will be ______(IT0000 or IT0041)and you will be paid a salary of ______ (IT 0008). You will be paid monthly allowances ______ (IT 0008 or IT 0014) and we are also offering you a joining bonus of ______ (IT 0015). You will be eligible for annual leave of ______ days (IT 2006) and sick leave of ______ (IT 2006).You will be on a probation for six months from the date of joining (probation date & confirmation date in IT0016). Your working hours will be from ____ hrs to ____ hrs beginning Monday to Friday (IT 0007) and we look forward to your presence on date ______(IT 0016)……

  • Guiding WF agent into specific infotype/subtype from WF task

    Hi all
I haven't found the answer for this one in the forum so I will ask you:
In my workflow I want the agent to hand out a laptop to a new employee. In other words I want the agent to go to infotype 40 and to the specific subtype (in my case 922) and enter the object on loan. Now, I do not want the agent to do all the browsing himself so I want the task (once executed) to open up infotype 40, subtype 922.
Problem is, as I have done so far, the task only takes the agent to the initial screen of transaction PA30 and is defaulting the input for onfotype and subtype. It just will not make the last create step and hence the agent has to do it. Does anybody kno how to make that last "create" action from my point?
The infotype and subtype are both container elements and just before executing the create event I have a container operation for each filling out default values.
The task itself is the standard TS90200007 "change employee". Maybe this is the problem?
Can anyone help me onwards on this one?

I'm guessing your task either uses bus1065.edit, or method employeet.edit
These methods use parameters to fill a parameter id and then call pa30 and skip first screen.
you should either create your own task where you specifically pass the parameters present in the method
    these are:
    Infotype
    Subtype
    ValidityBegin
    ValidityEnd
    FunctionCode  (either COP or INS)
Or you use a generic one. In the workflowstep you'll then pass the appropriate parameters to the task.
The agent will then have to click the save button.
If you want to do it fully automatically you'll have to create custom methods which will call either a BDC or make use of FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION
    Kind regards, Rob Dielemans

  • Time contraint for wage types which are the subtypes of the Infotypes.....

    Dear Sap folks ,
Anybody can explain that "what is the role of "Time contraint"(Once / Sev.Times) for wage types which are the subtypes of the Infotypes like IT0015 and  IT0014 (V_T512Z).
    Thanks & Rgards
    Maria Carlos Perera

    Hi,
any wage type marked with once can be maintained only once for that specific period and several times means it can be there more than one time.
For example, IT0015 wage type XXXX has value once. You are booking this wage type on perticular day say 12.06.2011 then you cannot book same wage type XXXX on 12.06.2011. But you can book this on any  oteher day of that month. if its several times then you can have several entries on same date.

  • What are the functionalities provided by SAP ECC 6.0 (Logistics Execution) for inward and outward transportation?

The Transportation Module provides a very detailed functionality to capture & control the transportation both inward and outward. However there is a set of transaction codes in SAP ECC 6.0 which may provide some functionality on transportation.
Can Logistics Execution provide some basic control in the absence of Transportation Module? Also what are the advantages Transportation Management module provides over Logistics Execution in SAP ECC 6.0?

    Hello Prasad,
For ESS and MSS you do not require special data from the backend side, If a person has master data maintained in PA30, He can see his personal details in ESS, For that employee should maintain the Portal user id in Infotype 0105 , subtyp0001.
With that userid he can able to enter the portal and maintain his details. Same is the case for MSS , Manager should have maintained 0105 subtype 0001. and he can see the details of his employees in MSS application.
For ESS you need to have Portal
    SAP_ESS
    PCUI_GP
    BP for ESS
You can check the following link :
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOWTOGETRIDOFSPSTACKMISMATCHISSUES
about the compatibility of Support Packages..
All the above mentioned package should be deployed on Eneterprise Portal.
You can search on various blogs also about this information.
    Best Regards,
    Deepak..

  • ESS/MSS Infotype, subtypes?

    Hi,
I'm new to ESS/MSS customisation on EP7, I have a task to customise personal data screen and addresses screen by adding additional fields.  I have posted another thread regarding how to customise for these changes but I hear the term infotypes, subtypes, tables to change and create.
Can someone please give an insight of what exactly these infotypes, subtypes and table related to ESS/MSS customization are?  How are they related to Webdynpro models?
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Dear Praveen,
Infotypes are nothing but places where HR master data sits. You can consider them as tables rather they are tables. For better picture go to PA20 and then put 2 against the infotype fiels.
Subtypes: For certain infotypes there are sub types available which allow you to classify the infotypes in better way.
for eg. in infotype 2006 which is for absence quota there are subtypes defined like sick leave , casual leave etc.
Web dynpro customization of the standard is a long process as it involves changes on both sides web dynpro side and the R3 side i.e the RFC (Remote Function Call) involved.
Hope this might clear a few things

    Geet

  • What are some of the message types (IDocs) related to HR in SAP?

    Hello all,
Please tell me where can I get more details?
    Thanks,
    Charles.

    Hi Charles,
Here is some material which i read some time ago, i think this will be helpul to you for IDOC, this may not give whole idea but atleast some basic ,
You need to get in touch with ABAP person for IDOC,
To create an Outbound interface from SAP HR to Other System.
*You have to know the process completely. I will give you the explanation here....*
*First of all you have to findout the Messgae type and IDOC type for the data.*
    *Message Types:*
*Suppose if u want to transfer*
    *Master and Organizational data----> HRMD_A*
    *Personnel Actions -> HRSM_A*
    *Time data---HRSM_C/HRSM_D*
    *IDOC Types:*
*These stuff you can findout in WE30 Transaction code.*
    *For HRMD_A----> HRMD_A01*
         *HRSM_A----> HRSM_A01*
*If u go inside by selecting the IDOC type u can view all the segments.*
*For individual Segments you can go to the Transaction code WE31*
*Note: Suppose if the standard segments or IDOC type doesn't support your req..u can create the custom stuff in the same transaction code itself.*
*After completion of this, with the help of BASIS team you have to configure the ALE settings between the HR and Siebel system. And also make sure all the Outbound and Inbound parameters are defined correctly.*
*Then try to send the Master data using the Transaction code PFAL.*
*In this TCODE you can send the data based on Object type,Object ID,Infotype/Subtype etc...*
*If you are missing anydata from here try to customize the Inbound function module by the help of HR ABAPer.*
*(Normally we will go for standard FModule IDOC_INPUT_HRMD_A01....).*  Bye let me know if you find this helpful
    Regards

  • What are the differences between PD objects and PA objects?

can any one tell me What are the differences between PD objects and PA objects?

PA is based on Infotypes 0000-0999. PD is based on Infotypes 1000-1999, chief being Objects Infotype 1000. Objects Infotype is the source of different Object Types such as Person, Position, Org Unit etc. You can check that through transaction OOOT.

  • What LDB is and what are all the events we have in that..?

    Hi,
Kindly let me know what LDB is and what are all the events we have in that..?
    Akshitha.

    Hi akshitha,
    1. A logical database is in fact
    a program only.
    2. This LDB provides two main things :
    a) a pre-defined selection screen
which handles all user inputs and validations
    b) pre defined set of data
    based upon the user selection.
    3. So we dont have to worry about from
    which tables to fetch data.
    4. Moreover, this LDB Program,
    handles all user-authorisations
and is efficient in all respects.
    5. tcode is SLDB.
    1. To get a taste of it.
    2. create a new z program.
    3. while creating type PNP
    in logical database field.
    4. paste this code and execute.
    REPORT ABC.
    infotypes : 0001.
    TABLES : PERNR.
    GET PERNR.
    WRITE :/ PERNR-PERNR.
    5. The selection screen which u see
is coming from logical database PNP program.
    6. Execute
    7. U will get a list of pernr.
    SAPDBPNP
this is the main program of LDB PNP
    which does the main work.
    SAPDB + ldb name.
    regards,
    amit m.
