What are the characteristics of the procfs file system type ?

Hi Solaris guys,
I walked through the Student Guide SA-239 to find information about procfs file system (/proc), but not yet. Could anyone here explain it for me ?
1. File ownership is determined by the credentials of the process.
2. It contains reference by file names to the opened files of the process.
3. Each process ID named directory has files that contain more detailed information about the process.
4. It contains a decimal number directory entry corresponding to a process ID.
I wonder whether these characteristics are correct or not. Please help me.

Its a virual directory structure with a directory per process. These per process directories contain more directories and files that supply detailed information on that process eg per open file information.
Access to the per process directories is controlled by checking the credentials of the accessing process against the credentials of the
process whose procfs directory is being accessed.

I have installed VM server 2.2.1, but i recently ran into disk size problems and want to resize. I have no space on the / partition and all my space on the /var/ovs/mount/"randomnumber". When i used the parted command "print" to see my partitions, the /var partition has no file system type such as ext3 or ext2. The / partition has ext3. Does anyone know why the /var/ovs/mount/"randomnumber" has no file system type because without this I can not resize the partition. Let me also say that when i installed VM server i pretty much took all the defaults so the partitions were created this way by default.

I have been waiting since months for the new IPad4G 64 Gbt. ON recommendation of Apple Support I have changed my IPad 4G last week in the hope that something was wrong with the firts one I bought.
The one I have now has the same problems. WiFi is working however 4G not at all. Apple what can I do? What are you doing for the thausands of German Apple fans who have bought a IPad4G and can not use it. We need a solution NOW. I´m working with this tool and need to be able to rely on it.

For all kind of errors the only tool available which bugs or say alerts for the error is Alert Management.
Alerts are messages which can be raised in case of failure.
Alerts - used for system errors, u can send a mail or msg whenever there is any failure. alert configuration can be done in t-code - ALERTCATDEF.
Alert Categrory can be defined in transaction ALRTCATDEF on abap stack. we can assign receipients to every alert category which specifies who will receive alert in case of error.
Alert rules can be defined in RWB.
for configuring alerts u need follwing roles first for defining or creating alertcategory
the roles reuired to access the RWB are:
1. SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER
2. SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER_MAIN
The roles for the Alert Management are:
1. SAP_ALM_ADMINISTRATOR
2. SAP_ALM_CUSTOMIZER
3. SAP_BC_ALM_ALERT_USER
Once this is done
alert category is defined and then tested

What are they mean for the colors which are present in RPD

In RPD we will find different colors right side to the databases,tables like green ,sky blue , marked as red in middle , yellow , given sysmbol like Stop with red color. Please any can give me brief idea for what they are indicated in different colors

That's what I get when I boot my Arch system. It worked fine for quite a while, but suddenly it ran into an error where the SCSI driver module was corrupt. I fixed it by reinstalling util-linux-ng and kernel26, however, I run into this issue now. http://www.pastie.org/2163181 < Link to /var/log/pacman.log for the month of July, just in case. Yes, I bought a new ATI/AMD Radeon HD 5450 this Saturday, but it seemed to work fine till this broke and it works fine on Ubuntu too, so I suppose we can rule it out.

Autodetection failed on your first image, in both your previous kernel installs:
[2011-07-04 16:14] find: `/sys/devices': No such file or directory
Which means that sysfs was not mounted. You should be able to boot from the fallback image, which does not use autodetect. Figure out why /sys isn't mounted, as well, and fix that.
This is also a somewhat crappy bug in mkinitcpio that lets you create an autodetect image that's useless. It'll be fixed in the next version of mkinitcpio that makes it to core.

Define the Characteristics of the validity table for non-cumulatives

Here I am designing MultiProvider ( ZCA_M01), based on the Two Business content info cubes (0IC_C03 & 0SD_C03 ) & one customized info cube (ZPUR_C01).
I done Identification for char & keyfigures also.
When i trying to activating the Multiprovider, here i am getting the error , error message is : Define the Characteristics of the validity table for non-cumulatives.
Even here I am attaching the error message help also.

Diagnosis
The InfoCube contains non-cumulative values. A validity table is created for these non-cumulative values, in which the time interval is stored, for which the non-cumulative values are valid.
The validity table automatically contains the "most detailed" of the selected time characteristics (if such a one does not exist, it must be defined by the user, meaning transfered into the InfoCube).
Besides the most detailed time characteristic, additional characteristics for the InfoCube can be included in the validity table:
Examples of such characteristics are:
A "plan/actual" indicator, if differing time references exist for plan and actual values (actual values for the current fiscal year, plan values already for the next fiscal year),
the characteristic "plant", if the non-cumulative values are reported per plant, and it can occur that a plant already exists for plant A for a particular time period, but not yet for plant B.
Procedure
Define all additional characteristics that should be contained in the validity table by selecting the characteristics.
In the example above, the characteristics "plan/actual" and "plant" must be selected.
The system automatically generates the validity table according to the definition made. This table is automatically updated when data is loaded.
Please take as a high priority.

If you want to include 0IC_C03 cube in your multi provider the you must make sure that the time characterestics ( 0CALDAY, 0CALMONTH ....) are present in all of the other info providers which you are including in the MP. The Time char to choose depends upon the Inventory cube in which you have mentioned during the definition. As you are using the standard cube 0IC_C03 it has the time char as 0CALDAY. Try to include this in all the other info providers and dont include more tha one Non-cumulative in the MP.
Try this and see if it helps....

Command To ID File System Type

I was found a server running Arch. Powered on fine and seems to be running great. I was able to recover the root login however I would like to know what command I can run in a terminal to identify the file system type on the disk partitions.
[root@tiger /]# fdisk -l

Does fdisk -l not supply you with what you were asking for? You could also use the command blkid, but it does not show the filesystem ID...

What are some uses for the aggregate object and definition file?

Can anyone share some examples for using the aggregate object in a Lookout process file? I've spent only a little bit of time with it, but I can't see how it provides any useful functionality. I guess I'm open to suggestions--thanks in advance! JT

If you want to reuse code in a modular sence than the Aggregate object will work. Although it works best to start the development with the intent to reuse that segment of code.
Look at the Sequencer Object Example from the Developer Zone. Follow the README file to copy all files into the Lookout/Examples folder. The Help_Template is an Aggregate process that was used many times in different examples for the web. The state file, .l4t, holds the text that gives further details on the development of the example. The Sequencer process has an Aggregate object used in it to open the Help_template.

The iPod touch on the other hand is accounted for like all other products, all revenue / profit taken at time of sale. If Apple gave the software Upgrades (not bug fixes as they are free) away for free they would be breaking the law as it would deprive shareholders of potential revenue that should have been charged for adding features to a product that has been already sold.
