What can't I do with OS X 10.5 server (that I can do with normal OS X 10.5)

I was intending to install OS 10.5 on a Mac Mini at home to run a mail server, caldav server, wiki and a web server. I could add all of these using open source solutions and packages such as MailServe for Leopard:http://cutedgesystems.com/software/MailServeForLeopard/.
I then realised it may save a lot of time to just get OS X Server (Just for the moment time is a more valuable commodity than the £300 for OS X Server). I know the open source solutions would be pretty juch the same as the solutions in OS X Server, so my question is: If I went for OS X Server would I be able to do everything I can with standard OS X? e.g. run iTunes, run front row, elgato eyeTV, run Time Machine, to backup my server, etc. (You can probably guess from this I would like my mini to also be my media server and have a simple backup solution - This mirrors a setup I have with a Windows PC and would love to move that setup to OS X on my mini instead).

I currently do this with an iMac along with EyeTV and Time Machine. There used to be limitations with older versions of iLife, but I think it was just the installer being difficult, but those are no longer present in the shipping versions of Server and iLife. Time Machine might be considered an issue because by default, Time Machine doesn't back up a few directories which would not have any bearing on normal OS X, but is a bit daunting with OS X Server, specifically /var/spool/ as this is where all mail is stored. You can override this behavior by modifying the Exclusion file in /System/ which some would consider a no no.

If it's an Intel Mac, you can upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.8.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, you need to use these instructions and/or iTunes Match to put content on the iPad.

Deauthorise all to reset to zero, then authorize again.

2 months ago i bought a new Iphone 4 device from my phone company, after a month something happened to the home butten, when i pressed it it felt like something stuck in it.. like sand or dirt.. but the home butten worked perfectly. so i went to the phone company and they told me that it is a problem and they replaced it with a new one. but after a week my iphone fell and something happened to him so i sold it to someone i know, and with that money i bought a new one from privet store (unlike the last time, when i bought my iphone in a big phone company) and in the begining it felt new, i didnt had any problems, but 2 days ago when i woke up i pressed the butten and i noticed that the problem with the home butten is back.. and i dont know what to do.. i mean like its not a big deal or something, it just that when i buy something new, i excpet it to be new, and i want to ejnoy it while its new.
so i went to some guy i know and he told me that he will see what he can do, i paid him 130 Shekels (35$) and he told my that he replaced the butten with new one, but still it makes problems. it bothers me alot, because i pay almost 300 shekels per month (75$) and i expect from this device to be new.. and its killing me.
now, i cant go to the phone company because thats not their device, and i know what the people in the privet store will tell me.. that its my fault and bla bla bla.. so what can i do? i cant spend any more money on this..

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

Why exactly do you care if it is registered?

Hello to all, good day, sorry my english google, but it is the tool I have at the moment. I'm having trouble with my Time Capsule Airport, I made all the settings according to the manual, but there has been a connection problem with my iMac. When I finish my work I turn off the imac and then again when they return to work and care, it can not connect to Time Capsule Airport, making it impossible to remove the files and make back up by Time Machine only works when I turn off and turn on the Airport Time Capsule , but I think this may end up with the unit. Estou tendo dificuldades com a minha Airport Time Capsule, fiz todas as configurações de acordo com o manual, mas tem existido um problema de conexão com meu iMac. Quando termino meus trabalhos desligo o imac e depois quando retorno pra trabalhar novamente e ligo, ele não se conecta a Airport Time Capsule, impossibilitando retirar os arquivos e fazer o back-up pelo Time Machine, só funciona quando desligo e ligo a Airport Time Capsule, mas acho que isso pode acabar com o aparelho. O que pode esta acontecendo e como resolver? Obrigado.

In the airport utility bring up your Time Capsule.

Please also make sure you are set to ipv6 in your wireless or ethernet .. whichever is used.. and do tell which.
This is wifi in your computer.
The following are important..
DO not use long names with spaces and non-alphanumeric names.
Use short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
eg TC name. TCgen5
Wireless name TCwifi
Use WPA2 Personal security with 10-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
read apple instructions to help with TM and TC.. they did finally admit it has issues in Mavericks.

When I use Firefox and Hotmail at startup, Firefox freezes for about 1 minute, and then I can continue. First I though it was my computer but 2 other girls in my class have the same problem with Hotmail and Firefox. What can I do to change this?

When I start Firefox, about 15 seconds after I start it, my Firefox freezes for about 1 minute. I found out that it is my Hotmail that makes Firefox freeze.
First I thought it was my computer, but I have 2 other girls in my class that use Hotmail and Firefox and their computer also freezes for 1 full minute.
This is very annoying, what can I do to change this?

It's a really bad idea to post your email address - it's an invitation to spam - and I've asked the Hosts to remove it.

If you are unable to contact them to do this then I'm afraid you will not be able to use the device - there is no other way of unlocking it at all. Apple cannot unlock it for you.

Thanks restoring and restarting didn't fix my problem - i have started it fresh and still it doesn't work. Basically I press ONCE on the remote, after the machine has not had any commands for 10 minutes, and the cursor skips from one end of the menu to the other - so I can't choose network or update software etc - I sometimes manage to stop it randomly in the middle of the menu if I press on a command in the middle of the cursor skipping all the menu steps...not sure what the problem is but I have basically not used my brand new apple tv since I bought it for that reason! I should call Apple support I suppose! grrrr hate wasting time with stuff like this!

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My itunes erroneously says that my ipod is synced with another computer when I try to sync. What can I do to fix this?

First, right after updating my iTunes to the latest version, my iTunes will not display album covers. It says exactly "iTunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer." It has never been an issue before, but, anyway... that is where it all started.
Then I read a bunch of Apple Support topics on the subject, and it directed me to replace my library file with a previous library file. So, I did, and now, not only will my albums not display, but my iPod Touch will not sync with my computer, the only computer I have ever used it on. It says that the ipod is synced with another library and asks me if I want to erase and sync (I have my music on my computer, but I will lose all of my apps and such).
What can I do to resolve this? Thanks for the help.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your iPod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
All media content will be erased during the first sync, but you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
