What could cause a printer to print in Landscape but not in Portrait mode?

Hello gurus,
We recently migrated our application from windows to linux. Specs are as follows
OS: RHEL 6
DB: 11.2.0.3
App: 12.1.3
Upon testing it was noticed that Oracle Applications successfully prints output files if they are in landscape mode but no output is received at the printer if the output is of portrait type.
The request ids show status 'Completed Normal' in both the cases.
Also printing directly from linux results in successful prints for both landscape and portrait.
The same issue exists when defining type as '--PASTA Universal Printer Type' or 'HPLJ4'
Any idea what files or settings could be causing this behaviour?
