  • What does "Eligible for Discount on 10/24/2012" mean?

Our contract is not up until the beginning of 2013, but my husbands phone has completely died so he is using an old one from years ago.
If we're eligible for a discount on 10/24/12, does that mean we can upgrade for the 2 year contract price on phones (and renew the contract)?  Or is it a different type of pricing?  A certain amount off????

Yes, you can upgrade at the 2yr contract discounted price by renewing your contract on that line. Each line has its own contract. If you do not upgrade your phone, the contract for that line will not change.
Keep in mind, there is a $30 upgrade fee you will be charged in addition to the price of the phone. You will also lose your unlimited data, if you have it, by upgrading at the discounted price.

  • Error: In initializer for 'source'

I have a strange problem.  When I try and compile the application, I get two errors, one of which is below, but they are essentially the same.
If I edit FaqEventMapButtonSkin.mxml and update ButtonSecondaryDefault to ButtonSecondaryDefaultTEST, and change the corresponding ButtonSecondaryDefault.fxg to ButtonSecondaryDefaultTEST.fxg, everything works fine.
The compiler must be caching something.  I've looked and looked for information on this topic without any luck.  I'm not using incremental compile.  Any ideas on how to clear things out?
FaqEventMapButtonSkin.mxml(44): Error: In initializer for 'source', type com.thomson.convene.ui.assets.ButtonSecondaryDefault is not assignable to target type 'Object'.
        [compc]
        [compc]                     <assets:ButtonSecondaryDefault width="100%" height="100%" />

I don’t know the compiler well enough to know if it caches stuff or not.  The compiler source code is available in the Apache Flex repository if you want to try to look yourself.  I’ve seen some compiler code that implies there are three ways of running a compile:
    1.  incremental: when editing and saving in FB
    2.  full: when cleaning and building in FB
    3.  standalone: when running mxmlc from ant or command line
I’m pretty sure stuff is cached between builds for #1.  It is possible that there is caching between builds in #2.  There should not be caching between builds in #3, but I would not put money on it.  When you say you are not using incremental compile, are you using #2 or #3 or both?
What does happen in #3 (and hopefully #2) is that SWCs found in the library path are read in and parsed and all of their classes go in a lookup mechanism to be used when trying to resolve symbols from other compilation units.  Plenty of folks have been burned when there is some stale SWC in some folder of SWCs pointed to by some configuration file that is supplying a competing definition.  And that’s what makes it machine specific.

  • What does "RTR FOR ALP" mean?

I just finished switching my 1400 minute family plan over to the 1GB Share Everything Plan and I noticed that for all four of the phones on the plan (three smart phones and one basic phone), there is an added feature called RTR FOR ALP on all four lines.
I was shown that FRIENDS & FAMILY ALP - 10 would be removed from all lines and that RTR FOR CAPPED PLANS $0 would be removed from the 4G phone's line and RTR FOR CAPPED MBBC $0 would be removed from the basic phone's line. If I had enough examples of RTR and ALP in use I might be able to figure it out, but with only my own plan to look at, I'm stumped.
So what does RTR FOR ALP mean and what does the feature allow me to do that I couldn't do before?

I don't know what the letters stand for, exactly, but what's happening is the 10 Friends for all lines is being removed, since you know have unlimited calling and there is no need for F&F numbers.  The 4G phone and the Basic phone's  individual data caps have been removed, and the shared data cap has been applied to those lines.
Maybe with another cup of coffee I can come up with what the acronyms mean....
    ** EDIT
Coffee would not have helped   But Google did:
http://www.verizonbusiness.com/solutions/public_sector/federal/contracts/continuity_contract/redacted_contract/vol3_business/v3-contents.pdf  starting on page 6 lists pages of acronyms.
ALP(S) = Automatic Line Protection switching
    RTR = Real Time Restoration

  • What does "licensing for this product has stopped working"

What does "Licensing for this product has stopped working." mean?

    Hi ,
The error "Licensing for this product has stopped working" is related to the activation component of Creative Suite 3 and 4 software. It is related to a problem with the FlexNet Service.
This error often comes when the Adobe software is migrated from one computer to another rather then installing it properly.
Please check the link , it might be help:- http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html
However if you have used the migration tool to transfer the software I would recommend to install the software using the original media.

  • What does "You do not have sufficient access privileges" mean?

    Hello Gurus!
I am wondering what does "You do not have sufficient access privileges" mean? I have a G$ with 2 internal hard drives. One has OSX 10.3.9 loaded on it and the other has OSX 10.4.7 loaded on it. When I boot up in 10.4.7 and try to access (open or copy) anything in the the desktop, documents, library, movies, music or pictures folders in my user folder on the 10.3.9 disk, it tells me that "I do not have sufficient access privileges"! This is a single user machine and it automatically logs in as me... the administrator. I tried to look at Apple's technical documents regarding permissions and privileges, but it is very confusing with all of it's terminal commands and lingo. Does anyone know an easy (and hopefully GUI) way around this problem?
    Thanks Much,
    Mark

If you have a different system on each HD then you do not have a single user machine. The user on one system/boot volume is not the same user as the one on the other, even if they ahve the same name and password. If you boot from the 10.3 volume, you can select your user folder, go to File-Get Info, and change the access for others to read and write and click on the apply to enclosed items button. You should then be able to boot from the other system and move stuff around as you see fit. Of course, this is not a terribly secure state to leave your system in, as anyone who can gain access to your Mac can get at everything on your 10.3 home folder.
If you try this route, I'd suggest doing it only long enough to move everything to one home folder and then revert the access privs to the way they were.

  • What does service "Apple Mobile Device" failed to start mean?

What does service "Apple Mobile Device" failed to start mean? I have been trying to download the new version and a message says please verify that you have sufficient prvileges to start system.

    Hey Michael13504,
First, I would try the steps in here:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
If you end up having to remove and reinstall iTunes, make sure you follow all of the steps in this link:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
This section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
    All the best,
