What does the range expander do exactly?

Hi, I would like to know, what does the range expander does exactly, does it only relay a signal farther away or does it actualy amplify the signal. I would like to know because right now there are 3 computers in my house that are only receiving a "weak" signal and I would like to boost that... I can't pass wires through the walls so it has to be wireless...
thanks in advance

The range expandr does increase the range of your wireless signal , However the throughput is reduce by half eg: if you are getting a speed of 54Mbps from the router to the range expander , then from the range expander to the PC your transmit rate be be approx 22Mbps . Every consequent range expander you connect will increase the range , but again the transmit speeds will be reduced by half.

  • What does the private keyword mean exactly?

    Hi,
    I thought I understood what "private" meant, but apparently not fully.
    Can someone explain the difference between the following two chunks of code and why one compiles when the other doesn't?
    class Component
      private Object loopID;
      private Container container;
      public boolean isActive()
        return loopID == container.loopID; //Doesn't Compile
        return loopID == getContainer().loopID; //Does compile
      public Container getContainer()
        return container;
    class Container extends Component
    }

    Put simply, private means you can't access the
    variable from outside
    the class. So you cannot use the "." operator to get
    access to it.
    But the method can return a reference to it, so the
    accessor method
    allows you to return a reference to the variable.
    Think of it this way:
    If you want to do "x.y" or "x.y()", the
    variable/method has to be public.
    If the variable/method is private, you can't access
    it with ".".
    By the way, there is an edit button--It is in the
    right corner above the message. I just added this
    with it. I didn't know it was there before.

    WhyNotFerzlePut simply: no. Private means that access is only allowed from within the body of the top level class where it the member or constructor is declared. Your example is just wrong on a number of levels. I can access the member of an instance using "." if I have access, and I cannot if I do not have access.

    My MacBook took a little fall yesterday. I went to the Apple store and they told me that the logic board needs to be replaced, and I was curious as to what it does. I have no doubts that the genius at the store was correct, I'm just wondering what it does for future reference.

    I was just wondering if it held everything like the ipod original does? Will it hold files like the ipod use to or is it just for music and movies?

    The iPod nano is just a smaller, less capacious version of the iPod classic. There are no differences in capabilities.

  • Exactly what does the Data Drop-down List do?

    What does the Data Drop-down List do? Is it used to make a drop-down list from certain records in a column in a table of a data base?

    Yes, this is exactly what it does. However, it's a custom control, not a built-in control. JavaScript is used to set it up. In order to use it you have to have a data connection in the document and modify the "Initialize" script, which is were the list is populated from the DB. The "Initialize" code is a good example of how to use XFA JavaScript to access a DB. However, the code is also written in a very general manor and takes the long way around to hooking up to the DB. Much shorter code can be written for a specific DB.

  • How to reset the Range Expander WRE54G v2?

    Does anyone know a way reset the Range Expander WRE54G v2 other than the little hole on the side that says reset? I tried using the tip of a pen to push this little hole for 30 seconds to a minute and it still is not reseting. What other ways can I reset this device? I'm out of ideas.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi!
    If you can access the setup page of the range expander which is 192.168.1.240 by default, you can click on the password tab and there is an option there to reset it to factory default settings.
    Best regards.

  • What does the recovery CD contain - Satellite A100-847

    Hello guys
    I had a few questions about the recovery CD:
    1- What does the recovery CD contain? and the other CD which is called Media something?
    2- Does it have Windows in it? So I can format my PC using it? And from where can i find the product key (windows key)
    3- What if i wanted to use the CD without formatting? etc. installing the softwares?
    Sorry for asking too much but my laptop started disturbing me. Just for knowledge my Laptop is satellite A100-847

    Hello
    I will try to answer your question.
    1 Recovery media contains recovery image. Recovery image is a kind of package that contains operating system, all necessary drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities and some additional software like WinDVD or Norton antivir application. Media something is not known to me. Maybe exact description can help.
    2 Yes it has Windows OS. Yes you can format your notebook using it. You do not need product key. Just install it.
    3 I do not know what you mean. The fact is that HDD will be formatted before you start recovery installation. Be sure all your important data are saved on some external device.

    or imagine you import large images sequence (200 hundred) and
    need to reposition them all :)
    The edit multiple frames options comes handy in such case...

  • TS4006 what is the range for find my iPhone

    What is the range on locating iphone5

    Both devices have to be connected to either WiFi or Cellular and have location services enabled. Find My iPhone does not require that you be close to the phone you're trying to find. If it's connected to a network thousands of miles away, it should still work.

  • What are the ranges for correct skin tones using RGB%?

    What are the ranges for correct skin tones using RGB%?  Used to using a scale from 0 to 255.  But with LR it's RGB  , I know 100% RGB is white.  What do you use for %?

    While I whole heartedly agree that we should not be constrained to hard and fast numbers for accurate skin tones ... LR does offer an RGB color readout ... I am assuming they made those percentages available for the user to monitor the breakdown of specific color values for a reason ... so we could have an indication of how a specific color in an image will be reproduced ...
    I liken this to using a speedometer ... while many experienced drivers in well tuned vehicles can travel on the highway at the prescribed legal speed limit without really monitoring the readout on the dashboard ... however, there are times when they would like to verify the speed at which they are traveling ... the RGB color percentage readout in LR is no different ... just a source of information to verify you are achieving what you desire ...
    Again, going by specific numbers in this instance, I believe, could lead to problems ... there may be times when you may desire or actually need to adjust skin tones ... even though a pleasing WB has been achieved ... the relationship of R, G and B can be used to get you there.
    From what I have researched and put into practice with LR the following seems to be a good starting point and the data was borrowed from "the pixelation" blog:
    R: highest %
    G: middle %
    B: lowest %
    To get a little more specific. In general,
    R: Y + (15-20)
    G: average of R and B
    B: R – (15-20)
    For example, the following values represent common Caucasian skin tones using the rules above:
    * R: 80%; G: 70%; B: 60%. R is 20 points higher than B, and G is midway between R and B. That’s perfect.
    *  R: 86%, G: 78%; B: 70% also reflects a nicely balanced skin tone.  Again, G is midway between R and B, and R is 16 points higher than B. This, too, illustrates a great relationship among the colors.

    Thanks by advance for your help

    Hi.
    Manager Manager is the controller of other Managers... File Manager, Document Manager, Script Manager, etc. If you expand Manager Manager which one of the Managers do you see in Partial or Out of Service? Based on that you would troubleshoot from there. For example if Document Manager is in Partial you need to make sure all of your XML documents are properly uploaded.
    If you need TAC assistance to troubleshoot this the best thing for them is if you restart the CRS Engine amd confirm Manager Manager is still in partial service, if so provide the \program files\wfavvid\log\MIVR\ciscoMIVR.log covering the startup event.
    I hope this helps.
