At that point, I had taken one of the DIMs out to see if the RAM was the issue. I took it to the Apple Store and they said that the hard drive might be bad, so they wiped everything on the hard drive. After that, I was still experiencing the kernel panics. So another guy looked at it and said that it might be bad RAM. So I called the company and got them to send me more RAM and after inserting the new RAM, I still get kernel panics. I've been saving all the panic reports in a folder on my flash drive. Today I got a total of four. And then I got four the day before that. Mind you, this didn't start happening until I upgraded my system to Mavericks.
I really wish there was a way I could post them all so someone could look at them, cause to be honest, none of the code in it makes any sense to me.

Powermac G5 1.8ghz June 2004 - strange issues, what does this ASD code mean
I have a powermac g5 with an issue and I would appreciate any help or input. the machine is air cooled dual 1.8ghz processors. After booting to the 10.4 os, the machine would switch to full fan power after 1-2 mins, eventually leading to a lockup shortly there after. I was wanting to upgrade the hard drive anyhow, so I went ahead put in a new drive a fresh load of 10.4. The same issue occurred, within 1-2 mins of loading the desktop fans would switch to full blast followed by a lockup.
AHT passes all extended test.
ASD 2.5.8 reports the following error:
error - PHY data mismatch #define kFWPHYAddressCompareErr - 29055 // -29004
I was thinking if anything, the temp sensors would fail, but the error appears to have something to do with firewire, which seems to be working fine. Does anyone have any insight to this error?
After ASD I reset the pram on the machine by pressing the button on the logic board. The machine booted normally and seemed to be fixed. I was able to install updates including 10.4.11 and use the machine for an hour or so. I then walked away from the machine and it eventually went to sleep mode. When I came back the machine would not wake from sleep. When moving the keyboard/mouse I heard the system kick on and try to wake up, but never resumed video output. Eventually the fans went to full power and stayed there and I ended up powering off the machine.
Also, intermittently, the machine hangs on a grey apple screen with no spinning gear when powered on. I have not seen this since the pram reset, but I wanted to through that out there as well.
Any idea on what could be causing the issues?Any process that will cause the system to stall/be unable to proceed, would most likely be accompanied by a kick in of the fans as an overheat defense mechanism.
If the system is looking for an address that isn't as expected, it would go on a search loop, which would increase activity, thus the fans.
It is probable that it is related.
It is possible that you may be able to garner further information about what is involved by looking at Console/logs for the processes that are involved at the time just prior to the events.
Additionally, it is proper to run diagnostics several times to confirm the error.
It would be prudent to confirm the error.
For additional feedback on the system components, and to provide validation or refutation of possible memory related issues, use Memtest or Rember to test the RAM.
Apple tests are all or nothing with regard to memory, while these two utilities can help identify latent or intermittent issues.
One other thought is that the issue may be due to firmware corruption, in which case a NVRAM reset may be more valuable than a PRAM reset. -
What does this diagnostic code mean: 4M0T/4/40000003:HDD-1237
when coming out of sleep i would get a message saying a disk was not usable by my machine. I ran the apple hardware test on the app. disk that came with my computer and got a code number back. I wonder if there is a list of these codes so I will know what is wrong before i spend money.
code was 4MOT/4/40000003:HDD-1237Sounds like your Mac is not happy with the disk drive.
Do you have a current backup?
You might want to take it to Apple and ask them to check it out for you.

Replaced my failed HD and now the CPU AND ODD fans are running fast. imac 21.5 mid2010
There is a sensor cable on some iMac models that must be attached to the replacement HDD for the fans to operate normally. I do not recall if the particular models include your mid-2010 iMac but the symptom you describe would be consistent with this requirement.
If you did not buy it from OWC / MacSales or other well-known Apple supporter, it is unlikely to have the required hardware.
Check with OWC to determine the correct replacement you require. -

What does this Bridge message mean?
I have a new Mac (and Photoshop Elements 11) and when I open Bridge I get this message:
OLSException in OLS Adapter Startup
/OLS/development/main/bridge/3.2.0/build/mac/../../sdk/src/COLS.cpp#19 : 16
Should I be worried?
(I've tried using PSE Organizer and I hate it. I'd rather stick with Bridge unless I'm headed for trouble.)
What does this Bridge message mean?Bridge came with an earlier version of PSE, PSE6 I think. The Organizer comes with PSE 9 and PSE11. Like some other PSE users, I much prefer Bridge to the Organizer. I had no trouble using Bridge with PSE9 and an older Mac. But with PSE11 and my new Mac, I started getting this message. I wonder if anyone knows what this message means, if it portends trouble for me, if there is anything I should do to correct it?
I posted this question on the Elements Forum and was told that it should be addressed on the Bridge Forum. -
Macbook Pro keeps restarting when watching videos online
My Mid 2011 13in, 500GB HD, 16GB Ram Macbook Pro keeps restarting whenever I'm watching videos online be it Youtube, or Xfinity or anyother video site. Browsing online works fine, nothing happens. I also watched a movie I had on my harddrive and that worked fine as well. The problem is with online video. I even tried it on both Chrome and Safari and I still get the same result. This started about 3 days ago now my Macbook restarts around 8-10 times a day. It has become a constant hassle that I had no issues with before. After it restarts it leaves a Kernel Panic Report reading: Can anyone help me figure out what the problem might be? Please and thank you.

If the hard drive died, replacing a bracket (whatever that means) could not possibly have revived it.
The panic log indicates a hardware fault, probably in the mass-storage subsystem.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
I can see my images in the libarary as thumbnails but when i try to edit/email some of them become Exclamation Marks in a triangle.
What does the exclamation mark mean and how to i retrieve the photoThe exclamation make is an indication that iPhoto has broken the file path to the original photo.
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

What does this popup message mean that I have been getting since the update
I got the update the other day and now when I open some of my projects this message pops up twice
"the previous selected audio interface is not available. Built in audio input and outputs of the computer will be used instead for this session".
What does this mean? How will it affect my project? or should I just ignore it. I am assuming this must be caused by the new update, since it did it the next day when I opened one of my projects. thanksYou could try to re-select your audio input and output settings under "Preferences > Audio" then save your song, quit and re-launch, and see if the message disappears. Maybe the update did something to your previous audio settings.
Hopefully this helps.

What does this log entry mean - Cancel initiated for Exchange Producer
Is there anybody who can tell me what could this log entry mean:
--Cancel initiated for Exchange Producer: <<66800621>> DbGateway Exchange*
I'm asking because I have problem. In two physical sources (physical databases) I have two tables TABLE_1 has 60k rows TABLE_2 has 1 row. Next step these tables are "Binary Join" by BI server
so it looks like here:
-------------------- Sending query to database named OBI (id: <<66800621>>):
select T7101.SYMBOL as c1,
T7101.TABLE_1 as c2
from
TABLE_1 T7101 /* TABLE_1_ALIAS */
order by c2
+++marek.gregor:c350000:c350006:----2010/03/03 13:30:17
-------------------- Sending query to database named OBI_BACK (id: <<66800638>>):
select T46142.KATEGORIA as c1,
T46142.FIRMANO as c2
from
TABLE_2 T46142
order by c2
+++marek.gregor:c350000:c350006:----2010/03/03 13:30:17
-------------------- Execution Node: <<66800638>>, Close Row Count = 1, Row Width = 24 bytes
+++marek.gregor:c350000:c350006:----2010/03/03 13:30:17
-------------------- Cancel initiated for Exchange Producer: <<66800621>> DbGateway Exchange
+++marek.gregor:c350000:c350006:----2010/03/03 13:30:17
-------------------- Execution Node: <<66800621>> DbGateway Exchange, Close Row Count = 3, Row Width = 80 bytes
+++marek.gregor:c350000:c350006:----2010/03/03 13:30:17
-------------------- Execution Node: <<66800638>> DbGateway Exchange, Close Row Count = 1, Row Width = 24 bytes
+++marek.gregor:c350000:c350006:----2010/03/03 13:30:17
-------------------- Execution Node: <<66800654>> Binary Join, Close Row Count = 0, Row Width = 104 bytes
+++marek.gregor:c350000:c350006:----2010/03/03 13:30:17
-------------------- Execution Node: <<66800582>> Projection, Close Row Count = 0, Row Width = 76 bytes
As you see first is executed select from TABLE_2 (Node: <<66800638>>, Close Row Count = 1) and this is correct number of close row count
next we have
Cancel initiated for Exchange Producer:(for node with SELECT ROM TABLE_2) - and I don't know what that's mean
and after this we have
Execution Node: <<66800621>> DbGateway Exchange, Close Row Count = 3
And this is incorrect number of CloseRowCount (should be aprox. 60k)
Finally result is wrong because we have no records (inner join by BI Server doesn't work :( )
Thank you for help
Edited by: markog on Mar 3, 2010 2:03 PMI'm wrestling with getting all of this to work myself.
Can you see the job in XGrid Admin? It sounds as if the job is failing, but I can't be sure. Clicking on the job in XGrid Admin should give you a "play by play" and tell you where it is failing.
My experience has shown me that permissions is the root cause of alot of issues, and I cannot find any clear reference on what permissions the "Podcasts" folder needs to make all of this work.
Following the documentation, the "pcastxgrid" user doesn't actually get assigned any permissions via the file system or Group membership, so I'm not sure how all of this needs to be set.
Hope this helps. -
Mid 2010 Macbook Pro Keeps Restarting due to Kernel Panic. Ideas for how to fix?
So my Mid 2010 Macbook Pro keeps randomly restarting, and giving me a screen that says something like "your computer restarted due to a problem."
Looks like it as a kernel panic, but I have no idea what this is. Seems to be no pattern for when it crashes. Used to do it maybe once a month and now this is the 5th time in two days.
Any idea what might be going on? Looked at past threads but nothing seemed to apply.

Looks like it as a kernel panic, but I have no idea what this is. Seems to be no pattern for when it crashes. Used to do it maybe once a month and now this is the 5th time in two days.
Any idea what might be going on? Looked at past threads but nothing seemed to apply.

Macbook Pro Keeps Restarting Itself and then totally crashed
Dear all.
I am using Macbook Pro 13-inch (i7 2.9 Ghz, 8 GB DDR3, 750 GB) with OS X Maverick (10.9.4).
For the last few months, my Macbook Pro kept restarting itself and I usually ignored this issue until yesterday, my MBP fail to boot up, only display the grey apple logo and rolling icon below for almost 30 mins.
I tried the safe mode and reset NVRAM method and it still fail to boot up and sometimes a black text appears (aka kernel panic).
Then i took my macbook pro to the nearest Apple service provider and the technician said that it was probably due to the 750 GB Hard Disk since the HD itself is a faulty product, therefore we can't find any 750 GB HD nowadays. So he recommended me to replace my current HD with a new HD. I took his advice and I replaced it with 1 TB Toshiba HD. And then the technician reformat my MBP and installed the OS X Maverick. My Macbook pro able to boot up now.
However the next day I still find my MBP keeps restarting itself (until now) and take note that I didn't install any new softwares, I only updated the available updates in Apps Store for the OS, iBooks, and iTunes.
Can anyone recommend me what to do? Is this a Hardware problem or software problem?
I'm thinking to switch back to OS Lion to see whether this is mainly due to OS Maverick.
Thank you.Unfortunately yes. Since the computer is unable to boot up, that part of the software starts BEFORE the OS would. Last time I had this problem, it turned out to be a faulty GPU (soldered to the logic board) and i needed to replace the logic board. If you wanted to, you could indeed back up your personal data (you should ANYWAY, no matter what you do) and you could try to do a fresh install, but I'm fairly confident you are experiencing either faulty ram, or a faulty logic board.

Thanks.
RachelTry to use
