What happened to Photoshop?
Upgrading to Photoshop 12 from 6 has been a nightmare. 6 was great and I expected 12 to be even better. I am assuming 12 has more capabilities than 6 but it is not a better program. I am frustrated and disappointed. And, on top of everything, with work still to do because I cannot get 12 to do what I need. Pity what you did to an excellent tool (6).
That's what I figured. It would seem to me that since it was Adobe that kept providing an unusable disk image last night, they ought to somehow make it available to me today. But having just spent three hours with Symantic tech support working around a glitch in THEIR web site, I don't have the energy for it.
Adobe makes great products, but their web site sucks. It's confusing as hell, and—this being a case in point—constantly in unannounced change.

I had a very old version of Photoshop that I was happy with on my old PC but after getting a new PC, was wondering if I should upgrade? I see the only version of Photoshop now available seems to be CC which looks subscription based. Is CC installed on your local machine? What happened to Photoshop CS 5.1 trial download?
Sunday evening I went to the Adobe site to download the trial version of Photoshop CS 5.1. In three tries I got the message that the disk image could not be opened because of an invalid checksum.
This morning I went back and again clicked the link to dl the trial, but this time it took me to the trial for CS 6, in which I'm not currently interested.
If you're going to switch where a link points, don't you think you ought to change the text of the link?
Is it still possible to dl the 5.1 trial and, if so, how?

What happened to Photoshop CC's keyword and info memory?
Since a very early version of Photoshop, when using the File Info section, (Document Title, Description, Keywords... pretty much every field), photoshop would remember generally speaking the last 20 entries in each field. This made it quite quick to add data.
Since I upgraded to Photoshop CC 2014 (from the earlier version of Photoshop CC), this remembering feature is completely gone.
Is there an easy way to bring this back?
I am running photoshop on OSX (latest version).It's been a few days there, so just wondering if anyone has an answer or if my question wasn't clear enough. My workload has increased enormously since I don't have my remembered keywords and fields.

Photoshop CC needs at least OSX 10.7-10.9
You may be able to install and run it on 10.6.8, but as I understand it the rules for generating thumbnails has changed with Apple and CC writes them to suit the required OSX.
Photoshop CS6 will always give you image thumbnails but CC and CC 2014 have had thumbnails generated differently for the required OSX.
You will have to upgrade to 10.7,10.8, or 10.9

Hello, I got the plan for individuals of 10 dollars monthly. Now my trial period of Photoshop finished, so the program does not open it ask me for a license number, and I have not received that number... so now I what happening is I am paying 10 dollar per month and my Photoshop does not work. How I can install AGAIN a other version of lightroom 5 ?! and this is necessary because the version included in pack has a mobile function that my actual version don't has. Thanks to help.

Photoshop Elements 3 dialog box with picture and patent numbers - not sure how to get it fixed. It's in an infinite loop - have rebooted to no avail. Should I update to a higher version after deleting this version?
Tried the resetting options, but can't even get to preferences - nothing
will open. May have to find my Version 3 CD, or delete Photoshop 3 and get
a higher version.

What happened to a version of photoshop you could purchase and not have to pay adummy at adobe each month for the privilege to use their software? This is the same thing as paying for protection from the company that makes the software, rather like a union! This is nothing but pure greed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have Photoshop Elements 12. When I open the organizer, click on a picture, then want to use the Editor, I get an error message. If I click on the Editor from the Welcome screen, error message. What happened to my Editor?

You never stop paying for subscription software. You will keep getting charged monthly. It's not a hire purchase agreement where you own the software after paying a set amount for an agreed time period. Neither is it a lease where you pay a residual amount to own the software at the end.
You will keep paying the monthly fee for as long as you want to use the software. If you want to use the software forever then you keep paying forever.
On the plus side, you get all updates and upgrades for free as part of your membership.
When you stop paying the monthly fee, you lose the use of the software. -
I created a multi-layered Photoshop file and the backgroud layer changed to gray and all other layers whacked out. I tried reopening it and restarting photoshop. What happened to my file?
