What happened to "Zoom resizes window" in PS CC 2014?

"Zoom Resizes Window" appears to be broken in PS CC 2014.  Anyone else notice this? Anyone have a solution?

Another victim reporting in.  As previously mentioned, option-scroll zoom works just fine for me in the CC versions of PS and ID.
15-inch Retina MBP, Magic Mouse, Ai CC v17.  Also have Ai CS5.5 and CS6 installed.

  • Zoom resizes window

I have been using Imageready for years, and now trying to
switch to Fireworks, since Imageready is gone... I am afraid I will
be here a lot to ask questions...
My first one is: Is there an option to automatically resize
the window if you zoom in or out with Ctrl-+/-
In Photoshop you can set it in the preferences: General
--> Zoom Resizes Windows, but haven't found the equivalent in
Fireworks. I'd like to organize a number of pictures on the screen
so that I can make decisions where they go on a webpage...
    Thanks,

On PC's, document windows don't resize in any program unless
    you resize
them manually. If they behave that way on Macs, that's a new
    concept for
    me. :-)
I'm not sure what you mean by images behind it. If you mean
    another
document you have open, either click on its tab at the top
    left of the
document window, or undock the document windows by choosing
    Window >

  • What happened to the illustration window that was on the bottom left part?

What happened to the illustration window that was on the bottom left part of previous versions?
We were also able to choose between the illustration of the selected track and the illustration of the listened track.

Look on the last line where it used to be and hit the arrow icon.

  • Zoom Resizes Window Problem

I've got CS2 and I'm finding it very annoying that whenever I zoom in or out in a document the window resizes. I can have two documents open and their windows neatly sized to fit the screen, I zoom in on one and suddenly that document is filling the whole screen. Yet, when I go to Edit / Preferences / General I see that the 'Zoom Resizes Window' box is unchecked.
The only way I can zoom in without the window resizing is via the Navigator window. But that's more awkward. Any ideas anyone?

Ah, excellent, thanks Ed, I didn't notice that check box. A case of too many check boxes spoils for wroth .. perhaps?

  • "Zoom Resizes Windows" doesn't work in CS4

I have the "Zoom Resizes Windows" option checked in Preferences. However, when I use the scroll wheel on my mouse (which is assigned to zoom in the Photoshop software), it only zooms in/out on the image within the window. WHY do they put the option in there when it CLEARLY doesn't work???
I have my image document windows "undockable", so that I have the flexibility to move them around and zoom in/out as I please when I have more than one. But the zoom does NOT zoom the document window. It keeps it the same size while moving the image within it. This "Zoom Resizes Windows" option is NOT working.
Is this a joke, or am I missing something? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I too am having the same issue as Whintersby. I find that it is not pixel related as much as it is the physical size of the resized window.
Note the lower right corner. Once the resize dragger disappears the window will no-longer resize up using the CTRL ++. Unless you first physically drag the corner with the mouse a little. At that point the functionality returns. As Whintersby  has said it is quite frustrating and quite disruptive to a solid work flow.
If anyone has found a solution to this it would be quite helpful.
For any Adobe techs that might be here, I am on Win7 (64).
While this may possibly be a moot point as I intend to upgrade to CS5, I want to make sure that it gets resolved and does not simply continue into CS5.

  • What happened to the Activity window in Safari?

there is no more Activity window in Safari.  What happened and how can I geet it back?

In Safari 6 in preferences you navigate to the advanced menu and click on the "Show develop menu in menu bar" and you should be able to see much of what is in the page. It certainly is not what we are used to and there are certainly a number of strange changes i am not sure developers have tested on the average user before implementing.

  • Swapping drive from old Mac to new Mac - What happens to boot camp/Windows?

    Hello,
The HDD that was in my Late 2008 Macbook will be going into a Late 2008 Macbook Pro with discrete GPU. The HDD already had Bootcamp installed, with Windows XP, and all of my programs.
I understand that OSX may not boot up right away with the new Mac, and I may have to run the install disks from the new Mac, and it should keep the applications/files/settings intact from the previous installation (thank you forums for telling me this)
What happens to bootcamp/Windows? I'd like for all of my applications and files to remain in tact. The partition and file system should be fine, but will I run into any issues since I'm moving to slightly different hardware? Will I have to reinstall the boot camp drivers? Reinstall of Windows?
I don't mind reinstalling Windows or Boot Camp drivers if necessary, but my priority is to keep all of the files and applications intact upon re installation.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Unfortunately my older MacBook is no longer accessible (long story) and I have no other Macs to test/clone this one on until this Tuesday when the Pro arrives.
I have the XP discs here. I guess in short, I'll just have to wait and see how XP behaves and try to fix as needed.
I was running 10.5.7 on the MacBook. I don't know what the Pro will ship with (its a Refurb from Apple Store) - http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB471LL/A?mco=MjE0NjE5MA
    Thanks for your help.

  • What happen to zoom in camera mode within the camera app?

What happen to the slider to zoom in or out when taking pictures in camera mode within the built in camera app after updating to iOS 5.1?

Slide 2 fingers across the screen and the zoom slider will appear.
This is very useful when you're holding the iPad with both hands and you can use your thumbs.

  • What happened to Zoom: Page Width?

Having the Zoom levele be fixed on page width was my favourite thing (i'm weird get over it), and it doesnt do that any more. Now when I adjust the window size I need to change the zoom each time.
Page width used to mean a constant value that would update every time the window was resized, now it is a single computation of the with of the window that zooms the page to match, then gives you the corresponding zoom level.
Going from 1 click to as many times as you change the window is not an improvement.
Fix it pretty please, or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Yes sir! Do you think Apple will let us fix everything else whilst we are doing your request?
Meanwhile you could go back to Pages '09 which is still in your Applications/iWork folder.

  • What happened to zoom in and zoom out selection, so you could make the screen zoom in and out?

I added zoom in and zoom out to my yahoo toolbar and from one of the sites that let you pick buttons to add to your toolbar, and now it has disappeared. And I can not find zoom anywhere. Have you heard of this happening before? If so do you have a resolution for this? Thanks in advance. Dan

  • Existing storage spaces: what happens if I reinstall Windows?

Hi everybody, I'm considering using Windows 8 "storage
spaces" to combine two external disks with 2-way mirroring. What will happen if, for some reason, my OS disk is no longer available. How will a fresh
installation of Windows 8 react to an existing storage space? Will it automatically recognise the storage space or does the storage space configuration rely on state stored on the OS disk?
    Thank you!
    Daniele

  • What happened to zoom option? The new Mini Player

I mean why change things and don't tell you. And if it was Working why fix it!!! So now it requires two hands to minimize and expand the mini player? It was easy before one hand with controlcommandZ now it requires commandshiftM. How annoying!!! Does anybody else feels my pain or am i the only one we actually misses this. Like the AMAZING tabs in Safari 4 Beta.
AND is there a way to change it back to the ZOOM command option?
    Any answers are most welcome!!!!!!
My mac is a 13 Inch. So any Screen Real Estate space is valuable thats why I need the mini player AND since the Safari Beta edition I do not use the tabs. It also steals space from my screen those 4 millimeters are precious. I mean multiple windows with multiple tabs.

lol. i wonder why apple did this again! i think they secretly like to see threads pop up about it.
this happened back when we hit 9.0; i'm putting my feedback in, but LAWDAMERCY apple needs to stick to ctrlcmdz and just shut their mouths about it already. srsly, if anyone needs a full screen itunes windie (AND a shortcut for it to boot), you needs to gtfo. sry.

  • What happened to my "Message Window" in iMessage on my Mac?

I'm not sure when this happened, but now when I open iMessage on my Mac, I don't get the full Message Window. I can only see my most recent conversation. Gone are the list of names in the right column. I cannot start a new conversation. I cannot click on a friends name to see my past conversation because the names are not there. I can only see the most recent conversation. I can't find anything in preferences to fix this. And I cannot find any help online. Does anyone know what's going on?

    Hi,
In the Resetting Doc that Apple published it does say you end up with two Keychains.
Items not related to the issues are supposed to be moved from the Old to the New.
This creates a Blank keychain in effect but keeps the other on view but inactive.
For the most part you can copy across the items not dealing with Messages to the new Keychain
However, as you say, they will be recreated if you re-enter the info for the accounts in various apps.
In same cases there are cross overs between Accounts used in Mail and those that can be used in Messages.
A Google mail ID can be activated at Google fro Google Talk and used in Messages as the Google ID
It may well be your Apple ID as well and possibly be used in the iMessages account.
Apple IDs issued by Apple such as @mac.com and iCloud linked @me.com and @icloud.com ones can be used as the iMessages Apple ID AND as AIM (AOL) valid Screen Names.
You can have an Apple ID for iCloud  and another for iTunes  and yet another for iMessages and a yet another for FaceTime and so on.
Most likley the iCloud one is being used in Mail.
In my case my Original Apple ID comes from a  Dial-up account and is linked with iCloud that then gave me an @me.com email address and then later an @iCloud.com one.
I use the Original as the iCloud login in oand in iMessages but use the @me.com name part in Mail ans the Original is still a valid email from the suppliers of the Dial up service.
It was these cross over areas around some IDs/names that I was alluding to with:-
Anything that lists any Account used in Messages such as a Google ID or an AIM Screen Name should be left along for the moment.
Was this why the Mail info was not moved across ?
The iMessages account needs the Serial Number on the Mac to be read and it then creates the Auth token for the account
It will start IDS: the your Apple ID followed by the dash and Auth Token.
These I did suggest to leave in the old Keychain so that restarting Messages and Logging in the iMessages account created a new one.
This is an independent, Application specific password for iMessages not matter where else you use the Apple ID.
It should not matter if the Apple ID in question is your iCloud listed ID, your iTunes one or a Mail one.
Does this have any bearing as to where you are up to ?
I would for the moment create another Mac User Account (System Preferences > Users and Groups)
If your current Mac Login is an Admin account make the new one the same.
Log out and then into the new account and set up the Contacts app (the My card needs a name) and iMessages within Messages.
This should show that the messages app is working or not.
If the App is not working in another Mac User account then the Whole OS needs to be Restored as this is the only way to replace some of the Apple Apps.

  • What happened to my VMWare & Windows XP??

Just bought and set up a 15" rMBP by backing up from a time machine from my 2010 MBP running Snow Leopard.  I selected to transfer all my Applications. Now the rMBP is telling me that it could not load VMWare Fusion?  Has anyone else had this problem?  What was the resolution?
    Thanks!
    Mark

ok, nevermind option 2.  I downloaded and tried to install VMware 6 on the new rMBP and it's asking for a key.  Or i can purchase one online.  Wait a minute here, I already purchased a key when I installed VMware originally back in 2009 for a 13" Macbook, which I then transferred to a new 2010 15" MBP when I upgraded a year later.
So - do I need to purchase VMware 6 again to get Windows on my new rMBP??  Also, I'm assuming I'll need to purchase Windows 7?  And I can kiss my Windows XP (as well as Office XP) goodbye??  This is not exactly as nice as I pictured things to be.
The more and more I'm running into roadblocks I'm thinking of just returning this rMBP and just use my 2010 MBP until the screws fall out.

  • What happened to the Finder Window?

Tonight I found that my Finder is not working the way it did the last time I looked. Before, when I clicked on the Finder icon in the dock, the Finder Window would open on the left side of the screen. Now, it opens as a window that looks more like a search windown and is spread across the screen.  The folders and files the once were easy to find, as they were in simple hirarcial order, are limited and no longer useful.
I went back and set up the Finder with the files that I want displayed, but that did not change the Finder back to the vertical window on the left side of the screen showing the folders and files I want displayed.
To my knowledge, no software changes were made. I did just put in a new power adaptor cord  and a new battery since the original is six years old.
Can anyone tell me how to restore the Finder Window?

To restore the sidebar, click the little lozenge-shaped grey button at the top right of the window.
