What I see in Preview does not print, only the Layout Topics print out, not the type in the body of the document

I have received a template document. The sender filled in with black type, making the document 9 pages. When I bring the document up in Pages I see everything, the preformated words, and the type. However, when I print it, only the preformated (or template) words appear in blue. I want the entire document so that I can edit it. I checked "help" and from what I can read, everything should print. I am a new user, both to Mac and Pages. Can you help me? Thank you in advance.

When you get a problem like this check if the problem is isolated, so create something in another application like TextEdit and try printing that to see if it occurs there as well which would indicate a problem with the printer.
Further check that you have updated everything to the latest version.
How new is new user? Since you are still on OSX 10.6.8, it seems not that new.

I want our Customers view the form in print preview and see that all the values are correctly aligned within the boxes before printing. But they print this form on a pre-printed paper (which already has the layout) so I want to make sure that only fields which are binded to a data item are printed and not the layout and static texts. How to Extract Data from IT 0025 and Modify the layout for Printing

Hi All,
Query----> My client has a requirement to output the appraisal data in a given format from IT 0025. (The entire appraisal done for the employee)
I would like to know from where this data will be picked up is this data stored in some cluster table and how can we change the layout for printing in the desired format?
Note: PA and PD is Integrated. When we create appraisal in IT 0025 no record gets created in PA0025, in which table does the record gets created and how to retrieve the data?

What version of iPhoto and system are you running? On the guess that you're running the latest iPhoto, 9.4.2, Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the thumnails, Option #2.
2 - It may take 2-3 attempts so don't give up after only one attempt.

If your model Macbook Pro is the calibrating model, let the battery calibrate.
If not, and are still under warrant or have Apple Care, give them a call and get a case number. Otherwise, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

Live site not duplicating what I see in Preview in Browser

I am building a test site: www.misteratm.com.
I'm experiencing the following problems after uploading
my files even though I previewed in the browser in
Dreamweaver and they looked fine:
-On the spry menu bar the font for the menu item names (Home, About, etc)
are not the font I changed them to (Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif.)
-The names of the submenu items I created for Our Machines are not
there, only the defaults (item 3.1, 3.2, etc.)
-There are submenu items for the menu items Home AND
Our Machines when there should ONLY be submenu items for
OUR MACHINES.
-The above issue results in my not being able to click on a submenu
item I created for the menu item OUR MACHINES in place of Item 3.1 called
"Tranax Minibank C4000." Clicking on that item is then supposed
to take you to the 1st page of Our Machines, which does not happen now.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

There is no mention of Tahoma etc anywhere in your document or in the attached style sheet.

The best way for that to happen is to ensure that the markup is correct, i.e. remove the non-wanted submenu items

The markup shows '#' as being the link. This will take you nowhere

up in the Properties Inpsector window on the page I created

In the Print & Scan system preferences, does it indicate it is using a generic printer driver or a Gutenprint driver?
Also, if you click on Options & Supplies, you might want to check and see if has to be enabled. That kind of sounds odd though.
Another thing is it might not be showing. If the bottom of the print dialog has a button that says "Show Details," click it. Then, you can change settings in the popup menu.

Adjusting the layout to print all the text

Could anyone tell me how to adjust the layout in Pages? I've developed a marketing postcard and some of my copy on the far right of the card is covered by a light grey frame that I believe is the layout. All the margins are set to zero and I've tried to pick the layout from the ruler, to no avail. How do I move the layout (light grey frame) so I can print all my copy?

From your description I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to. If you select View > Show Layout and then drag the corner of your window so that more than your page is shown on the right. You should see a dark grey box on the right hand side of the window. This is just so you can see the edge of your page.
You will find that your page is outlined by a thin light grey border. This represents the area of your page that your printer cannot print on. Pages picks this up from the print driver for the printer you have selected in Page Setup or the default printer. This can sometimes be quite large - on my printer it is 0.25cm.
Within the light grey border is the printable area of your page. You will notice that on a new blank document this consists of boxes for the header, a single column of text and a footer. You can control the dimensions of these by adjusting the relevant settings in the Inspector.
From your description of margins set to zero I suspect that you are referring to the non-printable area but you should see it around all of the page not just on the right hand side. Your printer may support borderless printing but how the OS X driver and Pages interact with this facility will be very device specific. You could try fiddling with the setup but the simplest solution would be to adjust the layout so that your copy fits within the printable boundary. It is pretty easy to do.
I hope this helps you but if you are talking about something else, please reply with a more detailed description.

Customise an ASPX in the layouts directory that is not visible in SharePoint Designer

I want to be able to deploy a customised ASPX page in a Visual Studio WSP solution to my site. There is a file named CopySharedPage.aspx which is used for the dialog that pops up when you edit a page that has multiple friendly URLs. Our users get confused
by this and several of them have clicked the option to 'Edit page for single URL (my page url)' which does this "Create a copy of the page for the URL you were just on to edit it
independent of other URLs." We don't want them doing that. In our site we often have multiple URLs for marketing reasons, but only want to maintain the one physical page of content. I can edit the CopySharedPage.aspx file in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS directly on the server and comment out or delete the section that creates the link to Edit page for single URL (which consequently creates a copy of the page).
But I would prefer to do this as part of my VS solution to make deployment easier. In my solution I have branding files such as master page, layouts and search assets such as a custom refiner and modified Item_Default.html. All of those items can be found
in SharePoint Designer and they can also be replaced by having a module in VS with those files and with entries to place them using elements.xml in the module.
I tried to do the same with the CopySharedPage.aspx but it doesn't overwrite the one on the server. This is my elements.xml for the module:

I end up getting a CopySharedPage.aspx created at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\MyWebsite_Site\LayoutCustomisations\CopySharedPage.aspx but it isn't used. The original one is still there in the 15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS directory and being used.
Is there something I am doing wrong or do I have to do this a completely different way? Maybe it's not a supported customisation?

There's two ways you can deploy your aspx (layout) files. One is deploy in _Layouts folder (which basically copy the file in (c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\15\template\layouts). To copy file in that place, you don't
need module, just use SharePoint mapped folder.
Another way is to upload the layout folder in SharePoint library. But _catalogs is not the right place to upload your file (_catalogs doesn't have any subfolder named 'layouts'). You can upload your file in 'Pages' library or 'site pages' library in the
current web.
I'm not quite sure though (sorry I didn't get what the problem is but just guessed you are trying to get your aspx page in SharePoint designer, not sure why) why you need to upload the file in pages/site pages library instead of '_layouts' folder.

My unusual (?) printer issue -- Prints only partial lines when printing in black (part 2)

I have been using my HP Officejet J4680 with my Win7 PC for several years and relatively problem-free -- until about six months ago.
My printing issue might be rather odd. So odd, in fact, I’m not sure how to succinctly describe it. I’m not too techie, but I will try….
This printer will print some lines correctly, other lines print only partially, and some lines don’t print at all.
This oddity happens ONLY when I print in black. When changing the color of the text to any other color other than black the page does print correctly.
Further, this issue seems to occur ONLY when printing certain things/files/formats. For example, material from most websites will print correctly. As will most .PDF files. Printing files such as .txt, .doc, .wps, etc., seem to be the most problematic.
Fixes I have tried include:
Uninstalled and reinstalled printer
Run HP’s diagnostic tools (including checking for any driver updates)
Installed several new black ink cartridges
Cleaned and re-aligned printer head
Lastly, the “copy” feature continues to produce good results. These problematic symptoms seem to occur only while using the “print” function.
Short of relegating this printer to the trash, I’ve tried everything I can think of. Help/ideas/suggestions appreciated.

Since my original posting https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/997009 was closed because one of the moderators felt it was going off-topic (although it was red a lot and had 131 "have-this-problem" in just a few days), here a kind of re-opening but on-topic. 
Why? Because I feel we have the right to express our feelings on this major change. And publicly there is actually only this forum where that can be done on the Mozilla.org domain. 
Sure, the change is there and we have to live with it (if we choose to). But that doesn't mean we can not have our voice here because after many, many years of supporting FF with our use, we suddenly are facing a layout we were always running away from. 
So yes, that can cause ranting and so on (within the forum rules of course) because people feel strongly about there beloved browser. (edit rules [[Forum rules and guidelines|link]] note the whole topic is ordinarily outside the scope of the forum ... Posts in the Mozilla support forum must be either questions about the use of Firefox, ... Users who post about things other than Mozilla support will be directed to an alternative discussion place .... . ~J99)
Plus this way you can centralize all the negatives here instead of a lot of separate postings about the same subject ;) 
To the people reacting here in this topic: there is only 1 real way to let Mozilla itself know how you feel on the new lay out and that is not through this forum. The way is to go to https://input.mozilla.org/feedback/ and let it know there. And I think when that is done in normal words (so no f*ck you rants and so on) and suggestions, then maybe, just maybe, it has some effect.

And yes, I myself am back to Firefox 28 which is not supported or suggested by Mozilla because it has things (bugs and security) that are not fixed in it. I am not suggesting or advertising to others to do the same. It is a risk I am willing to take and only say it is an option. edit My reason to go back to FF 28 is because that version still has the intuitive feel and look Firefox one was praised for. With a logical lay out and a good way to simply customize it (also in about:config). 
For those who say/think "Come one man, stop whining! Grow up and just accept that Firefox has to go with its time!", to them I say: nope ;)

Because I do not stand behind it: I think it's very weird to first make a complete overhaul and then write an article on how to overhaul the overhaul. 
For me that's the same as to complete redesign your favourite car, including parts of it's engine. Then, after that massive job, offering that car and make a remark that you can get a make-over to make it look like the old design again. They will put me in a straitjacket and I will be taken away I think ;) 
Don't get me wrong: I think it's a great sign of support that the article is there. It's an acknowledgement by Mozilla that they understand that there are people who want the old layout. 
But it's also something that is only done by the "hardcore" users. There are more then enough people who do not know about this forum, the article or whatever and are badly surprised with the overhaul. 
And then there is the matter of principle: there are a lot of users who feel that their browser has been sold out. By that I mean that Mozilla made a choice to make the base of Firefox look like the other two mainstream browsers. For them Firefox was THE choice to go against the "big guys". Now that feeling has been taken away and no overhaul of the overhaul article can take that feeling away. 
Personally I belong also a bit in that last category: I still have and wear the big, heavy Firefox T-shirt I got many years ago ;)

HT4587 em. Now they say an error has occured. The network has timed out. I have rebuilt it and reconfigured the units, done hard resets. What can I do now?

My 2 airport express units have worked until now. I only play Itunes on them and have reconfigured them, done hard resets on the expresses and the extreme, built new networks and started all over. when I can finally see them in airport utility and make sure they are connected to my network I still can't play them in itunes. I can select them, but the error message is that the network connection timed out. Used to work just fine. Its gotta be a setting, but I can't figure it out. I tried to change the channels, but it isn't very intuitive. Airport Extreme is channel 11, one of the Airport Express' is channel 1, and the other is 50 something. (I can't pull it up in airport utility, even though it shows green light and appears on my ipad.
