What I want in the iBooks 1.2

Mainly the possibility to arrange my library in Itunes (not only on the iPad editing and moving books) and also make collections (all books from an author in a "file".

  • Logic 8! Put down what we want in the next version. They need to know!

    I been using Logic Pro 7 since it came out. Apple updated everything else in there app line but not logic. So lets give Apple some ideas of what we want in the new version. If they don't know what we want we will all be complaining when a new version does come out. Below are just some of the things I want to be added or changed.
    1. New GUI - Apple I know you can make it great (Need some help let me know). Not just the program but your plug-in's too! I seen you spiced them up in Soundtrack Pro 2.
    2. More plug-in's
    3. Update your current plugins such as ultrabeat. Get something going like toontrack dfh superior for great real sounding drums.
    4. Get some pro engineered samples included (drums, bass, guitar, cello, strings, etc.)
    5. Create a better mixer - Let users customize everything about it.
    6. More customizable interface
    and more coming soon...
    I know these are just mostly cosmetic and add-on stuff i listed but I will put some better stuff later. Come on everyone put want you want let them make the best audio program every!

    My top wishes:
    1. The ability to import Sonar projects. Before I made the big switch to Mac, I was using Sonar under Windows. I still have a million unfinished songs I was working on in Sonar that I'd like to import into Logic. Apple does want to make the transition from Windows to Mac easy, doesn't it?
    2. Improved user interface. If Apple isn't already aware that Logic's UI needs to be revamped, then, well, we have a problem. Now, people usually figure out Garage Band without any trouble in a short time, at the same time as Logic has an enormously steep learning curve. I think a lot of Logic's learning curve is unnecessary and stems from a very unconventional and non-standard way of working. So ... Logic needs to dump the weirdness and just redo the whole interface as a standard Mac app ... even with some flair.
    And then there are the annoyances, like the Cycle feature sitting right on top of the Song Position Line. I must mistakenly click on the Cycle area at least a dozen times an hour while I'm working, with a disruption every time. What on earth were they thinking?
    3. Better support for MIDI hardware synths. I have a Motif rack ES, Triton Extreme, E-mu Vintage Pro with some extra expansion ROMs, ... I expected to be able to just hook these synths up and load some instrument definitions that come bundled with Logic (like you can do with Sonar). Boy, was I wrong! Holy Moly! It took me something like two weeks to get those synths set up, with a huge waste of my time poking around the Internet, entering a lot of information by hand, and fiddling with Logic's very confusing Environment. Not doesn't Apple bundle the common synth definitions with Logic, they don't even maintain a central repository where people can share those things. And nobody else has a really good repository either. This is a totally unacceptable mess.
    In principle, there's a lot of power in the Environment concept. The problem is that it's too complex to figure out, and Environments are too hard to share, and there aren't enough of them available for download or bundled with Logic.

  • How to take what i want in the scope read from NI5112?

    Pls see the attachment. It is the waveform read from DVD-vIDEO output using NI 5112. Now i want to the voltage for V1 and V2 using my LV programm. How can i realize it? Thanks a lot!!

    I suggest using the Amplitude and Level Measuring Express VI. It will tell you the maximium and the minimuim value. So you can then calculate the V1 and V2.

  • HT201209 I redeemed my code on my iPad, but I want to use it on my iPhone.  Unfortunately iTunes won't recognize my iPhone and tells me the code is already in use and I do not have sufficient credit to buy what I want on the iPhone.  What should I do?

    How do I transfer redeemed credit from iPad to iPhone?

    It doesn't need transferring, gift cards are redeemed onto an iTunes account not a device, so if you are using the same iTunes account on both devices then it will be available to spend on both devices. If it's not showing next to your id at, for example, the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app beneath your id then try tapping on your id and log out of it and then log back in and see if it then shows.

  • What is wrong with the idl code generated by packager.exe?

    Hello everybody,
    I am trying to figure out what is wrong with the idl code generated by packager.exe. In the evaluation for the bug posted at http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4964563.html it says that the IDispatch interface is not exposed correctly and thus early binding of java objects is not possible using the current activex bridge implementation.
    As I am no idl expert I have no idea what that means. However, I managed to dig out the idl code generated by packager.exe for the following example bean:
    package test;
    public class MyBean
         protected int value;
         public MyBean()
         public void setMyValue(int _value)
              value = _value;
         public int getMyValue()
              return value;
         public MyBean getSelfReference()
              return this;
    }The corresponding idl code generated by packager.exe is
    uuid(81B0BF63-2A55-11D8-A73E-000475EBF021),
    version(1.0)
    library MyBean
    importlib("Stdole2.tlb");
    dispinterface MyBeanSource;
    dispinterface MyBeanDispatch;

    version(1.0)
    coclass MyBean {
    [default, source] dispinterface MyBeanSource;
    [default] dispinterface MyBeanDispatch;
    };Does anyone know what is wrong with this code and maybe how to fix the idl code? Generating the dll should then be easy (I already tried several variations of the idl code but as my idl knowledge is limited it didn't really do what I wanted).

    Then the question is why it does work with visual controls (even if you set them to non-visible)?

  • If Macs "just work"...what's with all the posts??

    I've been thinking of making the switch to a 24inch imac...I've been doing alot of research and stumbled across the forums here. I gotta say I was pretty shocked to see the amount of issues people are having and also the amount of people viewing some of these problems. I'm by no means naive enough to think that ALL Macs are perfect and I realize this forum only represents a portion of Mac users, but its making me a little hesitent. I'd hate to spend all that money and end up with a great looking machine that doesn't work...if that were the case, would'nt I just get another PC? Should I be worried about making the switch??
    Thanks in advance

    Coming here to get an opinion about issues people are having with their Macs is kind of like going to a hospital to concluding that the entire human race is sick.
    I have been using Macs a long time and have also am using a Dell PC and have used some other PC"s in the past. I have to say that the Mac operating system just seems to not get in my way as much as Windows, which is what most PC's use. I have also, based on my experiences and not on any empirical data, found that it seems to be much easier for the end user to troubleshoot problems on a Mac, compared to a PC. The Macs do seem to "just work".
    I don't know of anyone who has made the switch and regretted it, but I guess it could and probably has happened.
    Think about the type of things you do with your computer and the software you use and like and then make sure that whichever type you choose, it meets your needs.
    Where I work I have both a Mac and a PC. I have to have the PC to do two things. First to run my security cameras. I could not find a Mac program that would do what I want with the cameras. Second, to run our fueling system. There simply was no Mac equivalent for that function. I do everything else, databases, spreadsheets, etc. on my Mac.

  • I have downloaded over 100 books from apple on my I Pad1. Now I can not get into the store because the iBook stops working

    I buy books to read when I need quiet time but it seem that the I Book store is not working and every time I try it shuts itself down, maybe apple might know what is wrong with this app or I will have to stop trying to buy books and go to Amazon for my books.i have over a hundred books and I like to buy books when I see a book in stores and like to download them to my I Pad which goes with me everywhere. Can someone fix this problem or I will have to get a Nexsus 10 and a kindle fire for my books.
    I have already written in and got someone named Amanda but no help also got a number *******if that means anything?
    Thanks,

    Since you didn't really provide specific details as to exactly what is happening with the iBooks app, you can go thought these troubleshooting steps and see if any of them work for you.

    Sometimes it is as simple as restarting your iPad or closing the app and rebooting/resetting the iPad. If nothing works from the troubleshooting article, post back with some details.

  • Printing What I Want

    An elementary question, I'm sure, but if there some way I can print what I want of the document? In my image, you can see in the print preview the pink box that shows what will be printed. Any way I can move that pink box over a little to the right because it's cutting off my document, or any way I can get rid of it completely so I can print my entire document?
    Thanks for the help!

    Your printer cannot print to the edge of the sheet of paper.
    In the preview window, the gray area is the area of your printer that cannot be printed to, and these areas are unique to different printers. As a rule, laser printers have a quarter inch unprintable area all four sides and ink jets (perhaps older less expensive ink jets) can have as much as one inch at the bottom which cannot be printed to.
    You would need a printer which supports boarderless printing, or print the document to a larger size sheet (tabloid) and trim to the proper margins.

  • My imac9.1 computer want upload the new software like app store or itunes, my imac9.1 computer want upload the new software like app store or itunes

    MY INTERNET PROVIDER  IS CLEAR AND IM HAVING A PROBLEM UPLOADING ANY NEW SOFTWARE TO MY COMPUTER SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME.

    Kevin,
    You are giving us anything to work with. Please be specific about what you want and the issues you're running into. Also we have no idea what iMac you have. If you're really running a OS X 9.1 machine your only recourse is to buy a new machine, you're 9.1 machine must be approaching 10 years old and in no way is capable of running the Mac App Store, iTunes etc..
    NOTE: I can see you are new so please let me help on some Internet etiquette. Typing in all caps is considered shouting and very rude. It is also more difficult to read. Going forward please turn off the caps.

  • I am confused about something.  How do I read a book on my MacBook Pro?  I can't find the iBook app anywhere, which is what I use on my iPad.  The book I want to read is in my iTunes but I can't click on it.  My iBook library does not show up in iTunes.

    I am confused about something.  How do I read a book on my MacBook Pro?  I can't find the iBook app anywhere, which is what I use on my iPad.  The book I want to read is in my iTunes but I can't click on it.  Some of my iBooks show up in my iTunes but they are "grayed" out.  The only books that respond in iTunes are audiobooks and that's not what I'm looking for.  Is this a stupid question?

    Nevermind - I answered my own question, which is I CAN"T READ ANY BOOKS I purchased in iBooks on my MacBook Pro.  If I want to read on my mac I have to use Kindle or Nook.  Which means any book I've already purchased through iBooks has to be read on my iPad.  Kind of a drag because there are times when it's more convenient for me to read while I'm sitting with my Mac.

  • What caused the iBook problem?

    I'm writing this for my wife, as she's unable to use her iBook for more than a few minutes before it locks up.
    I'm serving in the military overseas. My wife and I both use Apple products to chat, email, etc. When I spoke to her yesterday, she was frantic. Her iBook G4 apparently started making a strange noise and then stopped working altogether.
    I asked her what she had tried, and she explained that she spent over an hour on the phone with Apple support (I knew AppleCare might come in handy). The first support person she spoke with was, for lack of a better term, an idiot. This was confirmed by the third support person she spoke with. I'll explain later.
    The problem was that when she tapped her spacebar to wake up the computer, it didn't wake up completely. She got a grey screen, Apple logo, and that was it. I told her to be patient, that maybe it was reseting after an update (that was before I knew about the 10.4.6 update being available).
    Her computer auto-updates every Monday.
    I had her turn off the computer by holding down the power button. I then had her disconnect the power cord and remove the battery. I did this on a hunch (just in case the computer had a heat problem). She reconnected the power cord, pressed the power button, and it was back up and running - for about 5 minutes.
    Then the computer began making a not-so-funny noise again, and the spinning-beach-ball-of-death reared it's ugly head and wouldn't go away.
    The first support person had her use the install/boot disk that came with the computer. That was Panther. We're using Tiger. Bad idea.
    When the boot/install disk did not appear to be working, the first support person had her abort, and she was prompted with little phrases like "are you sure you want to quit, doing so now may damage your files" or something like that.
    He just had her keep clicking "OK" and eventually got tired of talking to her and told her the hard drive was bad and that she was SOL.
    The second support person was apparently too busy to troubleshoot any further and cut directly to "sorry, you're SOL".
    The third support person was a little more helpful in that he talked her through connecting the iBook to her G5 PowerPC iMac to attempt pulling the files over to the iMac (she had already resigned herself to the fact that the iBook hard drive was on it's last leg).
    She had asked the first support person about doing this and he said that if the files were corrupt on the iBook, they might corrupt the iMac, and that it was a bad idea. Not a very bright guy, considering the files would be copied to a folder, and wouldn't overwrite the iMac's system files.
    She started to transfer files and the iBook froze again. She repeated the steps I had her do earlier, managed to get a CD in the the drive, copied a few folder successfully to the CD, checked the CD to see if the files were there (success!) but then the iBook died before she could get the CD out. She's working on holding down the track pad button while rebooting to see if it'll spit out the CD as I type this.
    So, in addition to wanting to know how to resolve the problem, I'd like to know what caused it.
    What caused so many people to have alleged hard-drive problems within a day or two of each other?
    Is this Apple's first virus?
    Is this the work of a disgruntled Apple employee working in the updates department?
    Is this an evil Apple plot to force us to by MacBook Pro's that won't run Virtual PC?
    Will running the 10.4.6 hurt or help the situation?
    Why is there such inconsistency in Apple support and aren't they supposed to log their trouble-shooting steps performed thus far?
    My wife has been using Mac's for over 9 years. I've only been using them for 2 years. Up until now, I've had a lot of confidence in Apple to be a solid platform, even if not the fastest platform. This experience is not inspiring me to purchase another Apple computer.

    Her files probably won't fit on a CD; unless she has less then 700Mb.
    1."Is this Apple's first virus?"
    Negative
    2. "Is this the work of a disgruntled Apple employee working in the updates department?"
    No, I don't think so. Apple tries these out to try and avoid problems with their updates. Things happen that are not expected. They wouldn't put anything out unless they thought it was ready.
    3. "Is this an evil Apple plot to force us to by MacBook Pro's that won't run Virtual PC?"
    First off, look at #1 and think about what platform is notorious for virus problems (Mac has had not had any virus out breaks so far). There have been some "malware/macro" software that was meant to mess with Apple Computers. The most recent that was was over exaggerated was nothing special; MacWorld worked pretty hard to get it to effect their machine. As long as you know what you are downloading and where you are getting it from, you should have no problem.
    If you want VPC to work on a MacBook Pro; don't look to Apple. You should talk to Microsoft's Mac Department because Apple announced the Universal Binary switch a long time ago (with developer help) so that software companies could make the switch easier. If anyone is to blame; its Microsoft [they are busy working out their problems with Vista; I am guessing it will be awhile before you see VPC for MBP;) ]
    "Will running the 10.4.6 hurt or help the situation?"
    My opinion would to just reinstall Mac OS X after backing up the hard drive. That would probably fix your problem. Once OS X is installed; update the software.
    "Why is there such inconsistency in Apple support and aren't they supposed to log their trouble-shooting steps performed thus far"
    Once in a while Apple's personnel may make human errors. The second one you talked to may have seen her work-up and just reiterated what was said. They have resources we don't, but they can't really go beyond them because they can't see the product, and they are just call support. You may have to send it in.
    So in 9 years, you have had this one problem. We can't really tell you what is wrong with the computer because we can't see it ourselves; we can only give suggestions/ideas. Tell them her story, explaining her situation (military etc) and then see if they can help. She may want to bring it into her local Apple Store/Reseller. She can make a reservation on the website or at the store. She can get better feedback in person.
    Just some of my thoughts,

  • What is the meaning, or significance, of the greyed out word "installed" next to the iBooks app icon in the iTunes list of apps on my new iPhone6, or slightly older iPad mini, retina display?

    What is the meaning, or significance, of the greyed out word “installed” next to the iBooks app icon in the iTunes lists of apps on my new iPhone6, or slightly older iPad mini, retina display?  Both devices have iOS8.0.2 installed.  Both are having problems downloading some books that had been purchased previously for other devices.  And, before installing iOS8, the full list of had been downloaded to the iPad mini with iOS7.
      Finding out what the greyed outness means may help me figure out how to get all my books loaded on both devices.  Any suggestions how to do that also would be appreciated.

    Thank you.  Your explanation of why the word "installed" is greyed out makes sense.  But that raises the further question of why then is it shown at all.  There are other apps on both devices that can not be removed,and they are just not shown.  This is the only app that has the greyed out "install" notation.  All of the other apps shown are either identified by "remove" meaning it is installed and can be removed; "install" meaning it is not installed but can be; or "update" meaning it has been replaced by a more current version which can be installed.
    All of the books that I want to install have been on an iPhone4 that was replaced by the iPhone6, and were on the iPad Mini with iOS7 before iOS8 was installed.  Installation of iOS8 on the iPad removed all of the books and only a few of them were later added by syncing with iTunes.  Since most of the books I am interested in are free or of small cost, I would be happy to delete all of them from iTunes and then reinstall the ones I want directly on the devices.  But I have not been able to delete them and when I try to install them on a device I am told that they already have been downloaded.  Very frustrating.
