What info is kept in a unconstructed object?

Ok, say I declare an object without calling new on it. Does this actually point to some area of memory(but uninitialized) or does it just contain information on the class if it were to be created with new(like size of class, alignment etc)?

I thought the question was as follows:
If you write:
MyObject obj1;and never call:
obj1 = new MyObject();then, how much space is occupied by the obj1?
I think the answer is whatever the size of a reference is (4 bytes? 8 bytes? I didn't look it up)--not the size of a MyObject instance.
No, it doesn't point to any area of memory.

  • What is the use of various text objects in text determination

    Dear All,
What is the use of various text objects in text determination.e.g the sale document header object(In this what we define and where that text is copied further) and
other text objects i.e customer/accounting,billing header etc.
    Regards,

    Hi,
To exchange information between the User and the System    as well as between the objects (Ex: Customer to Sales document, Sales document to Delivery Document) SAP uses Text Determination to determine or to propose Text. Text can be determined for objects like customer master, all documents, condition records, customer material info records, etc...
    hope it helps..

  • Equium A210 171 What info do i need before i use the recovery disk?

    Hi,
I have 1 recovery disk that came with my equium, haven't used it before.
On the back of the recovery disk envelope it says "insert the first disk"
I'm assuming there should be a second?
Also what info will i need to provide during the install process? like serial number?
All i have is a black and white sticker that's on the side of the box it came in, but that was so long ago.
I'm having lots of issues with windows installer not running and many others,
Windows updates won't work either and i've tried to fix those but a clean reinstall of the os was recommended.
Now at this point nothing will install because windows installer won't work.
So i think i wil lhave to attempt a clean install, but i'm not even sure the cd drive will work.
I have gotten a great run out of this laptop, bit slow for my needs today but over all great product, bought in 2007.
With a clean os and 4 gigs of ram this thing could last for years more, can't afford a new one right now.
I have really tried to avoid using a recovery disk in the past, as i've never had any serious issues till now.
    Thanks

Im wondering why you get such disk together with your notebook why? Because I did not get the recovery disk but I had to create one using the Toshiba Recovery disk creator software
But my notebook is newer than your A210 this might be the reason why you got such disk
I created a recovery disk and I needed two DVD disks I think these depends on the image file size
    > Also what info will i need to provide during the install process? like serial number?
This is not needed because your system was already activated.
But I recommend to backup your personal data because the recovery disk would format the whole HDD and you would lose the files.
PS: recommend reading the other threads in the Product recovery forum!

Not quite, because you can still redownload all your purchased apps and music.  And everything that is synced from applications on your computer such as your calendar and your contacts can be resynced.

  • What are the lock modes in Lock object

What are the lock modes in Lock object ?
    what are the divfferences between
    Exclusive , cumulative
    Shared
    Exclusive , not cumulative
Could any body explain what happens in each table lock ?
    How the lock consists ?

    HI
Lock objects are used to synchronize access to the same data by more than one program.
The lock mode controls whether several users can access data records at the same time. The lock mode can be assigned separately for each table in the lock object. When the lock is set, the corresponding lock entry is stored in the lock table of the system for each table.
There are three types of lock modes
    1.Exclusive
    2.Shared
    3.Exclusive not cummulative
Exclusive lock: The locked data can only be displayed or edited by a single user. A request for another exclusive lock or for a shared lock is rejected.
Shared lock: More than one user can access the locked data at the same time in display mode. A request for another shared lock is accepted, even if it comes from another user. An exclusive lock is rejected.
Exclusive but not cumulative: Exclusive locks can be requested several times from the same transaction and are processed successively. In contrast, exclusive but not cumulative locks can be called only once from the same transaction. All other lock requests are rejected.

  • What is the use of an access object in a BOL hierarchy ????

    Hi All,
I want to know what is the use of an access object in BOL hierarchy .... if we can use a search object to search for entities ... then in what scenario will an access object be used ?
    Regards,
    Ashish

    Hi Dominik,
            Thanks for the repy !!!!
Now, as you said we can access a (deep) node of the whole model using an access object.
Let us consider the component set ONEORDER. As seen we can use the following path to reach BTDocFlowAll using search object :-
    BTQuery1O -> BTOrder  -> BTOrderHeader  -> BTHeaderDocFlowSet -> BTDocFlowSet -> BTDocFlowAll ....
Also, to reach BTDocFlowAll we can even use the access object as follows :-
    BTAdminI -> BTItemDocFlowSet  -> BTDocFlowAll....
    Now my question is :-
Normally we use the class cl_crm_bol_query_service to fire a search based on a search object. Can we use the same class to fire a search based on access object ?
(actually I currently dont have a CRM system so I could not try it out myself).
If not, then how do we fire a query using an access object ?
    Regards,
    Ashish

  • What is maximum  length of oracle database objects name

    Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what is maximum length of oracle database objects name .
I guess it is 30 ,correct me if i am wrong thank you.
    regards,
    P Prakash

Some objects (like synonyms or java classes) can have longer names than 30 chars:
SQL> create or replace synonym empempempempempempempempempempempempemp for emp
Synonym created.though internally oracle will generate short names for such objects:
    SQL> select synonym_name from user_synonyms where synonym_name like '%EMPEMPEM%'
    SYNONYM_NAME
    /969ea190_EMPEMPEMPEMPEMPEMPEM
1 row selected.and not always will the long name be actually usable:
    SQL> select * from empempempempempempempempempempempempemp
    Error at line 1
    ORA-00972: identifier is too long

  • What's the variable gpuAccelerate in stage object for?

    Hi!
What's the variable gpuAccelerate in stage object for?
    It's per default false.
I've tried to find an answer to this but I couldn't get one from tech docs.
It also doesn't seem to change paints (looking at one of my animations in Canary's Inspector) if true.
    Thanks,
    Volker

    Hi Darrel, hi Elaine!
@Darrel: I'm aware of the hardware (GPU) acceleration options in different browsers/systems. I'm just wondering _what_ the boolean in the script output of Edge actually does.
@Elaine: But _when_ would it switch on GPU in the animations and _where_ (which browsers/platforms)? There's no documentation I've found so far about it and the var is included in every animation with default 'false'.
And what are the possible pitfalls?
After beautifying edge-1.5.0.min.js it seems that it just enables the translateZ trick for (some) Webkit based browsers.
    if (this.gpuAccelerate && f[0].style && (typeof n === "undefined" || n === "" || n === "none")) f[0].style.webkitTransform = "translateZ(0)";
But Edge does anyways already use 3D transitions in its animations?
    Thanks,
    Volker

  • What is a chance that a shared object can be deleted inadvertently?

What is a chance that a shared object can be deleted
    inadvertently?
Which standard actions average computer user does (like
    deleteing temoprary
Internet files, cookies and objects via browser, cleaning
    disks, resizing
partition etc) can delete a shared object ?

the sharedObjects are managed by flash, not the browser.
Anyone can prevent or delete their sharedObjects by using the
settings panel following a right click in flash.
In the file system it is possible to delete them, but I'm
guessing that its a low risk for most users.
E.g. in windows xp its something like:
    C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application
    Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\DIRECTORYNAME

Sounds like you bought an AT&T no contract phone. You will need to contact AT&T for unlocking but they are only doing so for current and previous account holders. If you have never had service with them they will not unlock your phone.

Contact the original cellular provider, as they are the only ones that can provide unlocking.

  • What is the need to clone  an object

What is the need to clone an object
give me the scenarios where we use cloneable interface

    In a very simple statements,
clone method will return the new object with the
    SAME SOURCE STATE. Where as
creating an object using "new" will give completely
new object.According to whom? I was under the impression that the state of the object returned by calling close was not defined except from what is returned by the Object class.
As for clone being faster than constructors, it can be. It depends on what the constructor does. For instance, I'm sure its faster to clone an ArrayList than to create a new one by passing the old one into its constructor. Depends on the implementation of the constructor vs. the implementation of the clone.
Again, do not expose clone because its behavior is not defined. Create an interface with a methd on it, and define what that method returns. Then use clone to create your base object to construct the copy to return.
