What is exactly meant by text and hierarchy??

what is exactly meant by text and hierarchy??
if i have cust_id as characteristic and cust name, address etc as its attributes what will be text and hierarchy in this case??

Hi
There are three different types of master data in BI:
1.       Attributes
Attributes are InfoObjects that are logically subordinate to a characteristic. You cannot select attributes in the query.
You assign the attributes Person responsible for the cost center and Telephone number of the person responsible for the cost center (characteristics as attributes), as well as Size of the cost center in square meters (key figure as attribute) to a Cost Center.
2.       Texts
You can create text descriptions for master data or load text descriptions for master data into BI. Texts are stored in a text table.
In the text table, the Name of the person responsible for the cost center is assigned to the master data Person responsible for the cost center.
3.       Hierarchies
A hierarchy serves as a context and structure for a characteristic according to individual sort criteria. For more detailed information, see Hierarchies.
Features
Time-dependent attributes:
If the characteristic has at least one time-dependent attribute, a time interval is specified for this attribute. Since the time frame for master data on the database must always be between 01.01.1000 and 12.31.1000, the gaps are filled automatically (see Maintaining Time-Dependent Master Data).
Time-dependent texts:
If you create time-dependent texts, the system always displays the text for the key date in the query.
Time-dependent texts and attributes:
If texts and attributes are time dependent, the time intervals do not have to agree.
Language-dependent texts:
In Characteristic InfoObject Maintenance, you specify whether texts are language specific (for example, with product names: German ® Auto, English ® car) or are not language specific (for example, customer names). The system only displays texts in the selected language.
If texts are language dependent, you have to load all texts with a language indicator.
custid as characteristic and cust name, address etc as its attributes what will be text and hierarchy_
Cust name will be text
address will be text
custid will be hirerchy_
Only texts exist:
You can also create texts only for a characteristic, without maintaining attributes. When you load texts, the system automatically generates the entries in the SID table.
Hope it helps

  • What is exact difference between table and template in script

    hello all
what is exact difference between table and template in script

    Hi there.
Tables alow you to achieve more complex flows with internal tables. You can use different types os lines, like footer, header, line items, and differente types of line items. Also, and most important, you have different processing blocks, again header block (processed before processing of first row), body block (rows) and footer block (after last row or page break).
If you don't need any of this, use a template inside a loop to achieve something like a table. I personaly use templates only to draw lines, for example, before and after a loop, or to align some header in my documents.
A table, is a loop and template mixed to become a very good tool.

  • Does anyone know what triggers the switch between text and iMessage in the middle of a conversation? Are there any differences in billing between text and iMessage?

In the middle of a text conversation between another iOS 5.0 iPhone user and myself, the conversation elements switched back and forth several times between Text and iMessage. The phone actually tracked it and put little lines indicating the switch, and my comments changed from green to blue and back again. I can't think of anything I changed in the middle of the conversation. I was outside WiFi range, using the Cell network at the time. Now I tried it again, while i'm on WiFI and the messages are Text (green) again.

    1. Windows 8.1 Enterprise w Update is the best. It allows you for sideloading in corporate environment without additional tools and licenses.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/jj874388.aspx
    2. N series is for EU (without IE).
    3. Profesional is fine, but you will need some tools to achieve the same functionality that you have in "pack" Enterprise.
    4. VL is volume license, a type of license for multiple computers (to say it simply)
    5. MSDN forum is better alternative for problems like this.
    6. Attached to MSDN are licenses or at least references to web resources. Read license agreements carefully and let your installation and use follow the license.

  • What's the difference between text and value type for SO item category?

    Dears,
Could anybody help me on this question?
    Many thanks!
    Regards,
    Shiliang

    Hi Shiliang,
In a Bill Of Material the main item is a  composite item which represents what is being sold to the customer. For eg. a computer typically would consist of Monitor, Keyboard, mouse and CPU, speakers. Here computer refers the collection of all these items which are physically existing and basically items present in our inventory ( Value Items ). Where as computer is just a text item meant to describe the collection.
Also to add the for Usage we use it as text sometimes, which is used to say the item has been authenticated by the quality dept and we print " Tested " on it or these days all the items come out with unique article numbers for identification purpose. So we use this usage as text.
Hope it adds. Pl reward if useful.

  • What is exact diff between Bean and Class

    As my knowledge...
Class should not depends on any specified rules..But Bean should specified on specified rules, like setters and getters....
    is there any more........
    thanks for giving help..........

Yes, but what are they good for, except for providing
examples of really bad OO design by just being a
complicated struct?Look at Spring; an extremely powerful application configuration tool (and much, much more); all possible because of JavaBean conventions. Otherwise Spring would have had one set of conventions, JSF another, Hibernate another still, making programmers' lives difficult.
Look at the PropertyEditorSupport class - it's fantastic that I can write a standardized String-to-instance-to-String class for a particular type and just have frameworks like Spring take care of the problems generating my domain model from configuration. Using a standard mechanism makes me confident that if, in the future, I ditch Spring, my bespoke property editors will not be obsolete.

  • What is Concept in OTR texts and how does it work?

    Hi,
Can someone explain me how does concepts in OTR texts work?
I have a problem with one of BSP Applications where I'm using a OTR text. I think the problem is with this concept.
    Thanks,
    Chaith.

    hi chaitanya,
By using  OTR texts, you have the advantage that your BSP application will be language-independent. All the texts defined in the OTR are displayed at runtime in the logon language. If the texts are not yet available in the logon language, they are displayed in the system language. The OTR texts that you create are automatically translated or are forwarded to the translation transaction (SE63) and are entered in the translator’s worklist
To create an OTR long text from your BSP application, you do not have to go explicitly into the OTR. Proceed as follows:
In the page editor select the texts relevant for translation, using the <OTR>... </OTR> tag.
When you generate your BSP, all these text fragments are passed from the system to the OTR. The concept returned by the OTR is generated in the relevant place on your page and serves as the unique identifier for your text.
Continue as normal creating your BSP application.
U can go through following link u will get more idea on how to use OTR.

  • What's exact meaning for interface ,and where we use this interface

    hi experts,
i have been asked what is interface

    Hi
Interfacing is connecting two or more different entities. In our case, it is connecting one or more systems with SAP. Now extending our previous example, you are replacing some legacy applications but there are some applications that you don't want to replace yet. You need to somehow pass data back and forth between SAP and these remaining systems. Data may be going one way or the other way or both ways. You will still need to do some data transformations/translations etc to make the data understandable to the receiving system. This will continue as long as you want to keep the systems running alongside SAP.
In short, conversions are written to load data into SAP onetime. These are typically file based.
Interfaces are written to exchange/update/send/receive data between SAP and other systems on an ongoing basis. These can be in many forms, file based, idoc based, real time(business connector, XI etc are useful in this), xml, and the list goes on.
    Reward me if its helpful

  • When syncing iphone to itunes on new computer, what is erased? Are texts and contacts erased?

I got a new computer and am trying to sync my iphone to it.
I get the message "..this will erase your iphone..."  What is earsed?  I want to think only the itunes related things (apps, music, videos, etc.)
    Are photos erased as well?
    Thank you!

    All content will be removed.
You can get Phoneview from http://ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/ which will allow you to move the iPhone content to the computer.
To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - key the keys down until the iPod/iPhone is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place and you will be able to change your settings.

  • What is exact difference between PPM and PDS

    Hi,
can any one prove details of Difference between PPM and PDS
    Thanks
    suresh

    Dear Suresh,
please find below the detailed comparative account of PDS Vs PPM. You can copy and put it in an excel sheet in different columns and then read which is easy to understand.
    PDS:
    1. Production Data Structure (PDS) in APO 3.1 & Run Time Object (RTO) in 4.0 and above versions
    2. Master Data Object
    3. Useful for scenarios where the compoenent has got different validity periods
    4. Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
    5. Contains active Master data from iPPE (Integrated Product and Process Engineering) generated from a production version
    6. PPDS PDS & SNP PDS can be used as master data for planning
    7. Change Management, variant configuration & Phantom assemplies are supported in PDS
    8. Sub-contracting in SNP is fully integrated with R/3 is supported in PDS
    9. Direct transfer of SNP PDS from R/3 is possible
10.Rapid Planning Matrix can be generated
    11. Not possible to maintain PDS directly in APO and can be used only in combination with R/3
    12. The transfer of data changes is simpler
    13. Not possible to create alternate SNP-PDS in std system for different mode combinations
    14. PDS can be automatically generated from two sources ie R/3 and iPPE
    PPM:
    1. Production Process Model
    2. Master Data Object
    3. Cannot be used for scenarios where the component has got different validity period
    4. Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
    5. Contains active Master data generated from the combination of routing (BoM & receipe) and production versions
    6. PPDS PPM & SNP PPM's can be used as master data for planning
    7. Not supported by PPM
    8. Not supported by PPM
    9. Not possible here. SNP PPMs will be generated via PPDS PPMs
    10. Not possible
    11. PPMs can be directly created in APO and can be modified without R/3 also.
    12. Little Complex when compared to PDS
    13. Alternate SNP-PPMs can be easily created
    14. PPM can be generated automatically generated only from R/3

  • What is exactly difference btw individual collective call blank and 1?

    Hello all
Could you please to help me get ride of that what is exactly difference btw blank and 1 in MTO scenario?
it is better if you guy can show me a example.
    Thanks

    Hi,
In case of any requirement through sales order, it will be the special stock categoery E and material should have Individual and Collective Indicator as 1 in MRP4 view .It depends on what item category you are going to use in the sales order .
In MTS strategy, You can't achieve based on each requirement But you can get the plan order( system will combine all the requirement ) generated.
    Example
If you have Asembly Material A, and components X,Y & Z for A.
    For MTO
MRP generates the Planned Order for the Assembly and components with respect to the sale order requriement.
    Fot MTS
MRP generates the Planned Order for the assembly and components based on the stock requirement.

    Sundhu
