in note 1122409 - guided_procedures index in TREX??
It's saying ,
"As the TREX integration is not used in GP functionality, in future releases the corresponding implementation will be disabled and the TREX index will not be created."

It depends. NXP uses a confusing numbering scheme:
For example:
- JCOP41v2.2: JCOP with triple-interface, JC2.2.1/GP2.1.1
- JCOP31v2.2: JCOP with dual-interface, JC2.2.1/GP2.1.1
- JCOP31v2: JCOP with dual-interface, JC2.1.1/OP2.0.1'
The important thing is the version number, eg. JCOP41v2.2. All v2.2 JCOP cards are JC2.2.1/GP2.1.1. All older JCOP cards are JC2.1.1/OP2.0.1'.
Since OpenPlatform 2.0.1' and GlobalPlatform 2.1.1 use different secure channel protocols (SCP_01_05 vs. SCP_02_15), the authentication will be slightly different.

I am trying to find the best way to do this,
I have two human task workflows that I have created. The application we are making uses one of these workflows based on a parameter you give it through a text box. So lets say you have workflow A and B. If you select A it will run and do workflow A and vice versa. These workflow also have different inputs associated with them for review.
My question is what is the best way to implement this?
My first thought is to create two separate projects, one that does workflow A and the other does workflow B and deploy both composites to the server, and have two separate form projects in the Application deployment.
There is also another way I was thinking about doing this which is to have a mediator that takes in input and either goes from one bpel process or another bpel process, my problem with this is I don't know how to make certain fields in the webservice payload not mandatory. So any advice on this would be helpful.

Implementation Project means Implementing/designing the SAP software/business process completely from an existing legacy system.
SAP is completely new to that customer
We follow ASAP(accelerated SAP) methodology for implementating the SAP to clients
the 5 steps of implementation process are
1.Initial Preparation
2. Business Blue print
3.Realization
4.Final Preparation
5. Go live and Support.
ABAP person enter to the project at the end of Business blue print stage or in the starting of Realization stage.
It would be helpful to go through the help document of ASAP Methodology.
The following information may clarify some doubts/requirements you have.
Generating the Project IMG through ASAP:
After you have set the project scope, the next step is to generate the Project IMG. From the Business Process Master List (BPML), you can directly access the IMG activities relevant for configuring each process.
BPML: The Business Process Master List, along with the Business Blueprint, is a key result of the second phase of the Roadmap. Microsoft Excel tables contain the SAP scenarios, process groups, and processes that have been set in scope in the SAP Reference Structure, and are crucial for configuring your SAP System. In Realization, the third phase of the Roadmap, the BPML provides the basis for monitoring and steering test activities and for configuring your SAP System. It contains the titles of the structure items, and displays the status, the owner, links to documentation and links to the SAP System. Amongst other things, the BPML allows you to:
1) Set your baseline and final scope. These are used for baseline and final configuration.
2) Access the Project IMG and specific IMG activities assigned to structure items.
3) Access integration test plans, which help you carry out all required integration tests.
The Prerequisite is you have set the project scope.
Process Flow to use the Business Blueprint as a basis for configuring your SAP System:
1) Set the project scope.
2) Generate the Project IMG.
3) Generate the BPML.
4) From a specific processes in the BPML, you can go to the relevant IMG activities and make Customizing settings.

What if I implement data level security using Selection formula?

Hi All,
I have a requirement to implement data level security for all the reports, the thing is, we donot have a front end application developed in java/.net or any other language, so we have only two options (as per me, if you think there are other alternatives then please share).
1) Implement security at the database level (that is use user roles in where clause which will make the where clause really complicated and hence the performance of the query will eventually decrease).
2) Retrieve the data with the flags of user role/permission on data. Use these flags in selection formula to select the needed records as per the user login.
I have already in middle of implementing the second method, thought to take suggestion from you guys, I appreciate if you could tell me the drawbacks of the method I am using, and if there is an alternative method you could think of.

Standaone Crystal Reports does not have any security option except to use Trusted Authentication when connecting to the DB. We use Microsofts NT or MS SQL Server Authentication only.
Doing this in CR Designer using flags and formula will never be secure, the user could simply change the formula etc...
Check with your DBA on how to configure AD authentication and then enable or add each user to SQL server. You may need to configure and mantain this manually depending on how you ahve your network configured.

ASAP Methodology:
Project Preparation:
The first step in ASAP is Project Preparation. In this step the Functional Consultant will analyse the business process and define the system for SAP and will give the time line for the project. The Manpower required and the budgets are also considered in this step.
Blue Print Preparation:
This is second step in ASAP Methodology. In this step the Project Preparation scenarios are finalised. A out line of the Project is given in this step.
Realisation:
In this step actual development is taken place. The ABAPer is responsible for this step.
Testing:
In this step the development done by the abaper is being tested. This is the area where the Unit Test Document is prepared (i.e. Positive Testing and Negative Testing).
GO live and Support:
This is the final stage where the project is running in the live environment. In this step the bugs if any that are found in the go live procedure are fixed and the project will be considered as support project.

A project implementation for EWM requires definitions regarding structure of warehouse, in order to customize it based on a business blueprint. Then you start to change the system and test system behaviour. You must perform tests and finally move solution to production (this is a short resume of ASAP methodology).

Host we need more details:
What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting).

Let me introduce myself, first. I am now a student studying at
Beijing University of Post and Telecommunication(BUPT), Beijing,
Capital of China.
Then give a brief introduction of the project I am now participate in.
Recently our project leader arranged a task (implement an intelligent
network) to us. This network platform will said to be proposed to those
customer electronic companies in China. The main framework is OSGi.
And as for the OSI layer3~6, originally we want to use UPnP technology.
(The programming langague based has been decided to be Java.)
But quite recently, we have learned that UPnP mainly relies on IP protocol,
so if we want to connect IP net with non-IP net using UPnP, a bridge is needed.
Then we start to think about the availability of Jini. Though having gone
through with specifications of Jini, we still have some questions as follows:
(If the answers are simply in some references, just give me a link to save your time.^^)
1. Can network implemented with Jini connect IP net and non-IP net together? (How?)
If the answer is "yes", then how do components in a non-IP network implemented
with Jini communicate with each other? And what are the protocols used in
communication of this kind?
2. This question is related to the price to realize this network. Two reasons why
we are not content with UPnP is that you have to use a bridge to connect IP & non-IP
networks, and that you have to use SCP technology to control non-IP network.
Both add expense to realize the network. However, if we use Jini, is it expensive
as well? We know that in Jini network, a server is a must. Is the realization of
adding a server to the network expensive? Plus, chipset on which Java VM runs
is another cost. Is the price of adding chipsets to the clients and
the devices (which provide services to clients) very high?
3. Because we want to our project to be a success, we extremely care the future of
Jini. This care became deeper when I saw, in a Chinese developer forum, a question
("Is Jini dying?") yesterday. When I went to SUN developer forum, I found that
the Jini forum is not active (readable only). Few companies claim to add Jini to
their products. So my last question is "What do you experts forsee the future of Jini?
Does Jini still have a rosy promise?"

Standard Retractor does not satisfy the Business requirement in full.
The RFC connection you have suggested is what we are implementing through RSPLAN function Type creation.
In the RSPLAN we are implementing a Class which will fetch the Data from the Infoobject.
This infoobject will be fed from the target Infocube. After this Class getting populated Mapping will be done b/w BI source fields and the R/3 source fields.
Now the problem arise when a Function Module needs to be created that will actually bring the data to R/3 side.
The server where Data Load function Module is to written is still unknown to me..
The Function Module Return type is also unknown...
As this is totally customised we have to identify the return type for submission of Blueprint...

Question of SAP Methodology of Implementation esp. System Testing and Test Script

Dear SAP Member,
As a very new and inexperienced customer to the SAP and the business. My company is preparing for the retail shop establishment which part of the preparation includes SAP implementation.
At first, we strongly believe SAP can fit and serve our business need well. Also, the standard methodology of implementation will be able to deliver the system with expected quality. However, the local implementor disappoint my firm with poor quality delivery and control that result in the perception of uncertainty of the system to be lived.
The methodology proposed by the implementor composed with
1) Preparation
2) Blueprint
3) Realization
a) Program development and unit test by vendor
b) Training
4) Final Preparation
a) Integration test by Users
b) Data conversion preparation
5) Go-Live and Support
My problem comes up with phase 4-5
Problem 1: Unit/functional test performed by implementor . For this activities, how could customer ensure that every single function has been developed or implemented according to the requirement and without error?
Problem 2: Vendor provides slot for integration test for 7 days. Is it normal practice that test can be done within this short period?
Problem 3: Does SAP methodology has the standard quality control, test enter and exit criteria and issue/incident management?
Problem 4: How should the standard test script look like? What i received from implementor was like functional list rather than script.
Problem 5: what should be step for conversion apart from the data preparation by users? The local implementor does not explain/elaborate the detailed activities.
Last but not least, as the customer do not satisfy with the SAP partner (local implementor quality). What should be the process for feedback as to prevent other new customer to face the same problem?

If this is an issue to you, you can insist that members of your test team participate in unit testing. You are, after all, the client, and it is your money being spent. As long as you can furnish testers, who are competent to evaluate unit testing scenarios, you can have them work with the vendor during unit testing.
Vendor provides slot for integration test for 7 days. Is it normal practice that test can be done within this short period?
It depends on what is being implemented. I have seen implementations which contained over a hundred test scenarios and over 2000 test scripts; each of which must be tested by multiple functional groups. 1 week is not enough to complete Integration testing in this case.
Also remember that it is necessary to allow time to correct 'bugs' found during integration testing, and then to re-test after the bugs are fixed. Except in the simplest of implementations, 1 week may not be enough to accommodate the bug fixes and retests.

Which 'SAP methodology' are you talking about? Bottom line, the client must insist that the vendor incorporate any methodologies that are required for his business. Don't assume that your vendor will automatically bring these items to the table, YOU may have to bring them to the table.

????? It should look like whatever you want it to look like. Many companies have existing templates. If your company doesn't have such a template, ask your vendor for one. Go over it together with him and make appropriate modifications that meet your business requirements.

It is impossible to say at the beginning of the project. Sometime during realization, the client and the vendor will jointly develop a detailed cutover plan. More importantly, the client will develop a change management plan for the client company, in which all stakeholders in the client company will come to understand how and when ALL of the client's business processes will need to change, and to develop plans for all affected groups.

Implementation of Custom Retractor in Cost Center Planning

Hi All,
I am facing a problem regarding Implementation of Custom Retractor.
In our Project TM1 Server which is presently existing is to be replaced by BI server for Cost Center Planning.
The value needs to be retracted back to the R/3 server for poplutaing the Source Table fields.
Now our Business requirement is best suited by implementing a Custom Retractor which would fetch the data from
BI back to R/3 Server.I have some queries regarding this implementation.
1> The Data load Function Module & Post Data Load Function Module which is implemented for Data loadinf into R/3 server
is written in which server (BI / R3)? If its written in R3 as the case seems them how the BI table type needs to be declared in the
function module?
2> What the Function Module is returning ..is it directly updating the DB table or returning a structure?
Our project is still in the Realisation Phase....So no development has began yet....

Implementation of Oracle Hyperion Performance Scorecard

Hi,
I am completely naive at Oracle EPM. As of now, we have implemented Oracle EBS with finance, SCM and HRMS & Payroll modules. Our company wants to see the legacy KPIs integrated with these modules.
So, I want to know
_1. which modules in Oracle EPM are required for implementing Scorecards and KPIs completely._
_2. what are the implementation steps?_
I dont know how to go about this implementation. Hope I would get some info from you guys.
