What is needed for JAVA custom development only?

We have a pilot Netweaver 04 server setup with JDI configured under scenario 2+. We will only use the landscape for custom non-R/3 related JAVA apps. Will I need a DEV WAS JAVA JDI instance, QA WAS JAVA JDI instance, and PRD WAS JAVA JDI Instance? If not the would I just need a DEV JDI instance, then a vanilla QA WAS JAVA instance and PRD WAS JAVA instance. I am trying to understand how system landscape compare to a traditional R/3.

Hi Steve,
if you are using NWDI, please refer to the enviroment recommendations there. Actually, compared to R/3 your DEV environment is what you run either locally or in a group organization. Your DEV environment is the server you use as a central testing instance and that should obviously be another server then your productive servers.
Basically this means that NWDI usually does a transport to the dev system and if you want to deploy to productive, you just would initiate such from NWDI.

Depending on the CAP file converter being used debug information may also help. Remember that Java Card is a subset of the Java language (also there are short opcodes that Java doesn't have etc) so a lot of the work for optimisation is done by the converter or the JCRE. You can look at the JCA code generated to determine what works best for your applets. There are also some ways of stripping out dead code etc from JCA files (return statements after a throw etc) to reduce your code size. Most of the speed optimisations come from your code (avoiding context switches and unnecessary security/access checks).
The compactness of your Java Card binary may not be directly related to the size of your compiled Java code. It can depend on the converter you use and any optimisaitons the JCRE might try to do when the code is loaded.

When CAP files are sent for security review it is helpful to have the reviewer able to generate a CAP file that matches the one you sent to confirm the binary is what you say it is.

[WNTFIX]Enabling Chromium password sync, what's needed for it to work?

Hello, I'm using Google Chrome in multiple machines, some of them running Windows OSs. In my Arch machines I'm using Chromium from the extra repository, I have different environments but my Gnome based one is quite complete yet I still can't sync passwords.
What's needed for it to be able to sync passwords? Maybe some compile time flag?

Huh, that's strange. I checked it on my browser and there's doesn't seem to be a password sync option under the sync settings. A short Google expedition reveals that I'm not the only one. Luckily, the first comment explains it. It was recently disabled by default because it doesn't play nice with GNOME Keyring. To enable it, start chromium with the --enable-password-sync and --password-store=basic flags. Haven't tried it my self, though, as I don't really need that particular feature.

I am not sure what is meant by a "processing block". However, it seems the question wants the original table order to be preserved. If so; as far as I understood the problem we need:
itab_proxy[] = itab_main[] .
"two standard tables"
SORT itab_proxy BY field1 field2 .
If we have a sorted table, then it is always sorted by its keys. So, the question seems to become obsolete for that option.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I want to ask what is needed to see "java" web pages? I have an old handheld that uses windows ce 2.11. When I try to pull up a java web page, I get the message that "Sorry your browser does not support java".
Do I need a java runtime environment? A java virtual machine? It is a little confusing to a newbie.

Yes, you need a java runtime environment (aka JRE aka jvm aka Java plug-in)
However I don't believe that the versions available for the "usual" 32 and 64 bit architectures will work in a CE (but I could be wrong).

We have several copies of LiveCycle Designer ES 8.1 and we have an Adobe Server running. What is needed on the server to facilitate LiveCycle Output. We may already have what's needed, but just install or turn on.
I assume LiveCycle Designer ES can be used to create templates for dynamic content, which will be used by LiveCycle Output.

Output can be called using - Java API (from an app or a servlet), Web Service (from an app), Flex (remoting) interface, watch folder (drop files in a folder), email, etc.
You'll need to pass it some parameters such as:
The template (xdp or PDF from Designer) - yes it can be dynamic
The data you want to add (XML)
Render options (see the Adobe docs)

What's needed for intel imac wifi sync?

I have an Intel Core 2 iMac 10.5.8 and just purchased the iPhone 4s and now have ios5. It doesn't look like I can sync over wifi, because in iTunes, it says 'requires iosx 10.6.8 or later', which I think is Snow Leopard. It also looks like its $29.99.
Is this all I need to do or am I going to also need to get Lion, which is another $29.99? I'm not sure $60 is worth being able to sync over wifi for me.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
btw, I'm running ios 5.0.1 and iTunes 10.5.1

Well you know what is needed which is Lion and the only way to get Lion is to first upgrade to Snow Leopard so I think you simply need to decide if you want iCloud or not. BTW it would be also wise to upgrade the RAM on your system, I'd recommend the maximum it can address to have the best user experience. I recommend if you decide to move forward buying OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial. Finally if you are running any legacy PPC based apps they will also need to be upgraded as they will not run in Lion. If you are not sure if you have any PPC based apps there a numerous articles you can find to show you how. One example is How to Check if Applications are Incompatible with Lion.
