  • What is order management?

    what is  order management?
is  it a general term used for OTC cycle in SD  or  something else??
    <REMOVED>

    Hi
Below are details of Sales Order Management
    Internet Sales
SAP Internet Sales (R/3 Edition) provides an e-commerce platform that enables SAP users to rapidly turn the Internet into a profitable sales and interaction channel. Internet Sales (R/3 Edition) offers everything customers need to sell products over the Internet: catalog browsing, product search, shopping basket, check-out, saving and retrieving shopping baskets, order status, and order history.
    Field Sales
Mobile Sales for Handheld comprises a broad range of business applications to be processed offline on a mobile device, e.g., review customer information, take sales order via barcode scanning, create and/or modify sales orders, search for sales orders, and view a list of all materials.
    Quotation and Order Management
Allows you to create and process orders, including pricing and scheduling order for fulfillment. SAP ERP supports many process variants, for example:
    •     Cash sales
    &#61607;     Ship-to-order
    &#61607;     Make-to-order
    &#61607;     Engineer-to-order
    &#61607;     Empties
    &#61607;     Batch processing
    &#61607;     Serial number processing
    &#61607;     Payment card processing
    &#61607;     Third-party delivery processing
    &#61607;     Complaint handling
    &#61607;     Returns
    Inquiries
Allows you to create and process customer requests.
    Quotations
Allows you to create and process quotations.
    Follow-Up Order
Creates an order as follow-up document to the quotation. Copies the data from the quotation into the order and creates two transaction documents, quotation and order.
    Automatic Partner Determination
Allows you to automatically determine the partners involved in the sales transaction, for example:
    &#61607;     Ship-to-party
    &#61607;     Bill-to-party
    &#61607;     Payer
    &#61607;     Contact person
    &#61607;     Employee responsible
    Automatic Text Handling
Allows you to determine and maintain texts on header and item level.
    Pricing & Tax
Allows you to automatically determine the different kinds of conditions, such as product-, customer- and contract- specific prices, free goods, surcharges, discharges, freights, taxes, etc.
    Flexible Price Calculation:
Highly flexible engine to determine prices based on whatever criteria one might think of. (This needs to be part of the database.)
    Price List:
Customer-specific price lists can be generated.
Tax calculation within SAP ERP allows you to calculate transaction taxes, such as VAT in Europe. For complex requirements regarding tax determination in the United States, third-party software can be integrated.
    Payment Card Processing
Works with payment cards, such as credit cards. Copies payment card information from customer master data in orders and other sales documents.
    Credit Management and Credit Check
Limits financial risks by carrying out credit checks that can influence transaction processing and setting up a workflow connection to notify responsible.
Credit check evaluates a transaction based on the credit standing of the payer in financial accounting.
    Product Listing & Exclusion
Displays a list of products a specific customer is allowed or not allowed to buy.
    Product Substitution
Enables the automatic substitution of products in sales documents during sales order processing according to flexible, predefined rules.
    Free Goods
Offers free items on the sale of certain other items or takes money off a particular sale to a customer.
    Minimum Order Quantity Check
Checks the product level automatically to determine whether a minimum order quantity has been reached.
    Document Flow
Provides interlinkages of preceding and subsequent documents for a selected transaction (for example, production orders, deliveries, invoices, and complaints).

  • Schedule Manager - Use of Selection Variable

    Hi all,
My Question is "What is the use of Selection Variable settings in Schedule Manager screen?"
I am not asking about defining selection variable in the variants to pick up values from TVARV table. My question is how I can make use of the Selection Variable(Extras->Settings->Selection Variable) in the Schedule Manager screen.
The variable value column is ready for input in the Schedule Manager screen, is it possible to set the variant to pick up this value for the tasks in SCMA?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Prabha

    Hi Prabha,
After you have finished maintaining your variant, you would have to click on the "<b>Attributes</b>" button just below the title and maintain the description for your variant. Save this entry and press the back <b>green arrow</b>. Your save button would now be activated and you can save your settings now.
    I hope this helps.
Do not forget to award the point please.
    Regards,
    Jacob

  • Scheduling Manager hangs...

    Hello,
We are using Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.45.46c) and migrated from an earlier version (4i) spring of 2006.
    - I am trying to schedule a workbook with multiple sheets created with the new version.
    - The workbook executes in about 4 minutes, when I manually execute the 5 worksheets back to back
    - But when I schedule it, it hangs in the Scheduling manager but when I check directly on the Database using the following command I notice that the job is done :
SELECT job,sid FROM dba_jobs_running; (no rows are returned)
After I execute that SELECT, the Scheduling Manager is automatically updated and the status the job becomes ‘Complete’. I can then open the Scheduled Workbook normally.
It is as if the Scheduling manager does not know when the execution is complete and the SELECT I do triggers the status to be updated.
Everything works fine when I schedule a workbook with single or multiple worksheets created with the earlier version. It also works fine when I schedule a single worksheet out of a multiple worksheet Workbook created with the later version of Discoverer!!!!
Can anyone mane any sense of what is happening ?
    Thank You !
    Marie

    Hi Marie
What database privileges do you have? This is the first place I would look. These are the ones you need:
    connect
    resource
    analyze any
    create procedure
    create sequence
    create session
    create table
    create view
    execute any procedure
    global query rewrite
    select any table
    unlimited tablespace
    execute on sys.dbms_job
    select on sys.v_$parameter
    I hope this helps
    Best wishes

  • Job Scheduling Management vs SAP CPS

    Hi Guys
I am trying to find out what are the differences between using the Job scheduling management tool in Solution manager and SAP CPS integrated into Solution manager. What are the benifits of using CPS as opposed to using the "standared" job scheduling tool.
    santosh

    Hello Santosh,
the link that you already got is good. Perhaps you also want to check out [http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/FAQJobSchedulingManagement|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SM/FAQJobSchedulingManagement] and [SAP is first vendor to provide a comprehensive Job Management Suite |SAP is first vendor to provide a comprehensive Job Management Suite] for further information.
In short SAP CPS is an advanced scheduling tool like which competes against other like UC4, Control-M from BMC etc. But all these tools do not provide any real job documentation or job request functionality in order to get the process governance right. That's where the SolMan gets into the game.

  • What is change management?

    Hi,
    What is change management?
    Regards
    Raje

    Hi,
Change management is a structured and strategic approach to initiate and manage the change process in the organization structure and culture as well as the individuals/teams behaviour and atitude towards the change transition in the field of the business processes, technology implementation or any other policies of an enterprise.
The change management process involves the task of managing change using a ethical and professional approach with an appropriate knowledge and common sense with a control mechanism and layout of a well planned organizational communication system. On the Management part , It is imperative to estimate what impact a change will likely have on the employee behaviour patterns/motivation, work processes, technological requirements and finances. Management strategizes the change process by assessing the reactions of the human resource to seek their co-operation and accesses the financial as well as technology resources so as to make appropriate arrangements such that the change process is implemented as per the vision of the enterprise and can be appropriately monitored for effectiveness and adjusted, if and where necessary.
There are several change management models that the enterprises follow while undertaking the Change Management process depending upon the ground realities and the organizational culture of the enterprise seeking the change process. One of such models popularly known as ADKAR Model describes five factors for the change to be realized successfully on an individual level that are as follows :
Creating Awareness why the change is needed
Inculcating Desire to co-operate and participate in the change process
Providing and collating Knowledge to guide the change process
Developing Ability and appropriate skills to drive the change process
Formulating Reinforcement strategy and plans to sustain the change process
The ADKAR model for the Individual Change management was developed by ProSci with the co-operation from many world wide organizations.
Change Management refers to the process of continuous improvement, where Organizational Development is totally based on Individual development. Being aware of the present situations and continuosly reviewing them for the betterment of people(which includes Employees, employers, clients, customer and also their families)
However to start this process and to make it a part of our lives is the challenge. This is what takes most time, since people involved in this have busy schedules - be it home or office and to take time off for 'CHANGING" is not considered worthwhile.
Some people would like to believe that they are already in that state and hence would want to review it at all. For them to understand that "Always reviewing the present and analysing its effects on the future" is what continuous improvement is all about.
To initiate the process of CHANGE , one needs to be structured and patient. Expecting miracles overnite is a myth. Its a gradual process. The point most important is that "Business Goals" and "individual Goals" need to kept in focus all the time. No way can performance be discounted.
