Tried to find it out on adobe page but there the sdk-link is broken. I know the term sdk from linux, is this it? Linux based?

SDK stands for "Software Development Kit". An SDK is not specific to any language. The XMP-SDK is C++

I am on a mac and want to make a very simple .swf that lives

successfully but want to make sure people in the pc world can view

As far as I understand the full form of SDK is Software Developers Kit. It is a tool with which we develop programs. There is an SDK for Visual C++ and an SDK for Java. There can be a other SDKs for other languages.
The SDK provides for classes and functions that can be used in your programs. Obviously it makes software development easier and faster. For example if you need to manage dates, use a timer you can either write a program from scratch or you can use date functions provided by the SDK to manage time.
I am learning Java and under no circumstances can the above be taken as Bible.

Well...SDK stands for Software Development Kit
and JRE stands for Java Runtime Environment.......
so the JRE is part of the SDK......
SDK contains for instance the java API, the compilers and the applet viewer
JRE contains the virtual machine needed to run java code

What Acrobat SDK Technology I need to build a plugin that creates a new item to the Right-Click context menu?

I want to develop a plugin for Adobe Reader that will be invoked through a new item in the Right-Click menu.
What is the right SDK Technology to build this new item? Javascript, Interapplication Communication or a C/C++ plugin?
I would feel more comfortable with JS or C#, but I don't know if I must use the C++ API to be able to build such level of integration.

Plugins are written in C/C++ and especially something such as adding to the UI.
To add this to Acrobat, no license or fee is required - you can do it today with just the SDK and Acrobat.
However, to build a plugin for Reader, you will need to obtain a license from Adobe. Details are in the SDK under "Reader Integration Key License Agreement" (RIKLA).

What is the SDK kit for the Iphone??? what does it do?/

Im kind of confused on what the sdk kit is! So what is it. My main question is when it becomes available will it possibly have a video rec. for the iphone??? Thank you

its a kit created by apple so that 3rd party applications can be created for the iphone. it will allow developers to create new programs for the iphone, of corse they will have to play by apples rules by developing their software with apples kit. once again, stop trying to regulate my iphone apple! its my phone!!! now that thats out there, do we have a specific date yet on the sdk kit? i believe they said february.

Getting Big Headache, What is difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7

Hello, I am asking questions about the two similar yet different programs for Pocket PC version only:
1) Which came first, Flash Lite 3.1 or Flash Player 7?
2) If I have both in my Pocket PC, will there be product incompatibility?
3) What is the difference between Flash Lite 3.1 and Flash Player 7.
4) I have a Flash Lite 3.1 but uninstall information says "Flash Lite 3.1 for Opera Mobile", did you releaase this? Is this an illegal copy? A developer's copy?

Hi, I don't expect all answers, but I hope someone or someone from adobe support can clear some things up for me.

The program under my "remove programs" list is specifically called "Adobe Flash Lite for Opera". The XDA forums people said along time ago that it was Flash Lite, and kept calling it Flash Lite, and not Flash Player 7.
Now what about this:

The table shows the differences between FP 7 SDK, FL 2.1, and FL 3.1. And it's quite obvious that FL 3.1 has way more features than Flash Player 7. What does SDK mean? And why are you telling me FP 7 has more features?

Troubleshooting iPhone SDK build 9M2199 beta 7 ...

I successfully installed the iPhone SDK last night but seem to have a few problems: a) the DOC SET for the "Apple iPhone OS 2.0" does not seem to work, retried several times.
b) when trying to follow the "Getting started" tutorial I noticed that the install did not install a "Cocoa Touch template" in the New Project.
I did try to re-install the same thing again but still no luck.

I am glad I am not the only one here! I kept on thinking the installation must have gone wrong somewhere.
The probable new names I think are:
Cocoa Touch OpenGL Application -> OpenGL ES Application
Cocoa Touch Tab Bar -> Tab Bar Application
Cocoa Touch Utility -> Utility Application
The unclear ones:
Cocoa Touch Application -> ?
Cocoa Touch List -> ?
? -> Navigation-Based Application
? -> View-Based Application
? -> Window-Based Application

I didn't answer one of your questions. Xcode is the suite of tools necessary to build Apple software for either OS X or iOS. Theoretically, you could build a simple app without much programming knowledge using Xcode. The SDK, or software development kit, are the set of API's and code that either OSX or iOS have that you need to actually run it on specific machines. Again, theoretically, you could use Xcode to create a program, then use the SDK's to build it for both iOS and OS X. There are a few programs that you can tell feel amost the same on both platforms. The Twitter App is one. Evernote is another.
You really should become an Apple developer, if this is an interest of yours. It's not that expensive, and you can access lots of stuff. You even get advanced copies of the new iOS and OS X so that you can test your Apps.

Access Server SDK issue.

We have set up SSO for one of our application (App1) and is working fine(in production). I am configuring one more application(App2) for SSO.
App1 is setup using webgate on our proxy server. all the request go through the webgate, urls are validated against the policy server and are given access. no problems here
App2 - Webgate installed on my local machine proxy apache server, configured the new policy domain, and using the same identity servers as app1, the app is working fine. I am trying to decode the obssocookie to retrieve the userid, I have created a webservice which takes in the obssocookie and decodes it go retrieve the user name, so that the service can be used in different applications(which are not on sso) kind of authenticate the user against the OAM if the user is already logged in.
My question is I have webgate configured on my local machine and also installed the access server sdk (Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_0_1_Win32_AccessServerSDK.exe) on my local machine, setup the classpath and path variables as discribed in admin guide. I am running weblogic 9.2. My index.jsp page accepts the user credentials and posts it to login.jsp ( Ihave protected the login.jsp) in the policy domain with the form based authentication schem.

Looking at the exception - "com.oblix.access.ObAccessException: Unprotected resource GET HTTP:http://mymachine/myapp/login.jsp passed to the ObResourceRequest, so there is no associated authentication scheme.", it seems like what the SDK wants is the resource to be passed as "//mymachine/myapp/login.jsp", i.e. leave out the redundant "http:" from your URL in the program.

..then you will understand better what "the SDK" means - and that "the SDK" (i.e. the runtime components) is always there where you install the product
