Hi,
   interface can be outbound i.e writing data to
   application server using open dataset,transfer
or downloading data (gui_download)
   inbound -> reading data from application server using
              open dataset,read dataset,uploading data
              using gui_upload.
   conversion:BAtch data communication method
              where legavy data is uploaded in SAp.

What is the difference between #variable_name and :variable_name?
I have found that if we use alphanumeric variable then :variable_name return value in quotes but #variable_name without quotes.
Why it does not work in the same way for variable default values when variable is used in filter? (It works in mapping)
I use variable in filter like T.OUT_DATE>convert(datetime,:LAST_UPDATE_DATE,121)
When I use my variable in package and do refresh it works fine. But when I try to execute the same interface with variable default value I get error. Seems that variable name has been not changed to the value. It does not work with default value in quotes neither without quotes.
Any ideas how to solve that?

Question is how to make it work with default value, when I execute interface standalone, not in package? And why it works in mapping but not in filter?
+ I have found that it works if source is Oracle. It doesn't work only for MS SQL source.

UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD, the function modules used until now are not part of the standard set of ABAP commands. They are used to display the file interface on the presentation server. UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD are not compatible with USs and have been replaced by GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD.
The new function modules, GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD, have an interface that also allows you to write Unicode format to the local hard drive. For a description of these interfaces, refer to the documentation for each function module, available under SAP Easy Access " Development " Function Builder " Goto " Documentation.
Instead of using the function modules, you can use the static methods GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD of the global class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.

Hi,
ModuleLoader is a kind of strange API that is really just intended to look like SwfLoader for modules that contain a single visual component, and hides most of the module loading infrastructure, which is all about class factories.
What I mean by "only loaded once" is that if you have several places in the code that call the ModuleManager.getModule("url").load() call, it will only ever get loaded over the wire and interpreted once, subsequent "loads" will just re-dispatch pseudo-load events to the new client. In other words, the class factory is a singleton for a given url. Unloading is a totally different story. As you note, not everything is truly unloadable, because there may be lots of references to stuff in
the module that will keep it alive and un-GC'ed.
I suggest playing with the low-level API so that you understand the backing implementation, and this should help you understand the limits of ModuleLoader.
The main difference between modules and applications is that modules have lower overhead, and they only ever get loaded once, no matter how many times you load them. If you're using the ModuleLoader API, keep in mind that you're losing about half the functionality of the module system. I will assume that you are, because otherwise it would be obvious where to expose methods. You might want to play around with the lower level ModuleManager API just to get a hang of what's going on - ModuleLoader is a pretty thin veneer over the lower API.
                Basically, what you want to do is to have your module implement an interface, say IModuleWhatever.

hi, a socketConnection is a subclass of StreamConnection. In other word, a StreamConnection is an interface (template) to improve more specific connection like : FileConnection, HttpConnection, ...
If you have to connect a specific server, use SocketConnection, if it's a HTTP server use HttpConnection ...

Conversion, converting legacy system data into SAP data. Meaning that it is mainly a one shot deal, for example bringing your customer master to SAP from the legacy system, converting the fields used in legacy to the fields and values used in SAP.
Interface, a program or group of programs that handle the passing of data from one system to another. These programs work together to export the data from one system and import into a target system, maybe these programs run once a day, maybe twice, may every hour throughout the day. It is a good way to keep the data in two or more systems in sync with each other.
Interface programs are also data extract program. Data is extracted from SAP into a flat file and transferred to other external systems like UNIX, mainframe.
In data extracts, the file layout is designed and this layout should be in synch with other external systems.

Defines an interface for classes that know how to layout Containers based on a layout constraints objectFor example BorderLayout uses LayoutManager2, which allows your to position individual components using the known constraints:
panel.add(Component, BorderLayout.NORTH);
panel.add(Component, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
Whereas, FlowLayout or GridLayout don't allow you to use constraints, components are displayed in the order they are added:
panel.add(component1):
panel.add(component2);
You only care about this when you are writing your own LayoutManager.

Effect
Both these statements assign the content of the operand source to the data object destination. The variants with the language element TO or the assignment operator = are valid for all assignments between operands that are not reference variables, and for assignments between reference variables for which the static type of source is more specific than or the same as the static type of destination(narrowing cast).
Variants with the language element ?TO or the assignment operator ?= (casting operator ) must be used if the source and destination are reference variables and the static type of source is more general than the static type of destination (widening cast). For assignments between operands that are not reference variables, use of the question mark ? is not permitted.

in my app, i have

_server.start();
_server extends Thread..
why everytime i use server.start(); my app will terminate on it is own, even though in my servr.run() method, i have a while loop
and if i call _server.run() explicitly in my code, that while loop will be in execution

run() is a method in the object that the thread executes.
why everytime i use _server.start(); my app will
terminate on it is own, Err.... I'm not convinced this is true. It'll throw an IllegalThreadStateException, if you try to restart an existing thread.

and if i call _server.run() explicitly in my code,

You get two entirely different result sets that may be the same. Haah! What do I mean by that.

2 rows selected.So, why is this? the WHERE EXISTS means 'if the next is true', much like where 1=1 being always true and 1=2 being always false. In this case, where exists could be TRUE or FALSE, depending on the subquery.
WHERE EXISTS can be useful for something like testing if we have data, without actually having to return columns.
So, if you want to see if an employee exists you might say
SELECT 1 FROM DUAL WHERE EXISTS( select * from emp where empid = 10);
If there is a row in emp for empid=10, then you get back 1 from dual;
This is what I call an 'optimistic' lookup because the WHERE EXISTS ends as soon as there is a hit. It does not care how many - only that at least one exists. It is optimistic because it will continue processing the table lookup until either it hits or reaches the end of the table - for a non-indexed query.
