I'm working on my first website and I'm so incredibly frustrated with browser width parameters.
Don't judge it yet, but notice that some of the elements will gladly go outside of the browser width... (such as the rock on the right under "portfolio")
http://timdodddummytest.businesscatalyst.com/index.html#top
So I'm struggling with the concept of browser width if things can just go beyond it. How do I hide it behind the browser width so to speak?
Also, what if I wanted this whole site to just be the width of the screen so it looks great on a full screen 27" or something and not just 960 pixels wide? I do have it set for HiDpi but it still only takes up the center third of a larger monitor...
Any help would be great! Thanks!Regarding the rock on the right, you could add a black frame above the rock to act as a mask.
Regarding full width, you can have your images "scale to fill" under the fitting options when importing an image in a frame.
The only problem with that is the image will increase in size based on the browser width, and based on your design I don't think you want your images scaling up to much based on the parallax scroll layering you have happening. This is where testing is involved to see what it would look like scaled up and down. (see attached link)
Not sure if I would design a site based on a specific screen size, it's a bit safer to go with a smaller width to accommodate multiple screen sizes.
The link below is a way to see how your site will be viewed on multiple screen resolutions.
Screenfly / Test Your Website at Different Screen Resolutions
Hope this helps... Nice site by the way... -
Why use Applet when display Form Application? What is the benefits using it?
Hi All,
I still don't know what is the benefits using Java Applet when displaying Form Applications.
What is other ways to display Form?
Thanks!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applet
It depdends what you mean by "non applet" - you could mean an application or a "thin" browser UI that does not require a JVM
THe thing is, you don't really have a choice if using Forms -
I was just wondering what do the different color circles mean when I've located my iphone. So far I've seen a green dot with a green bigger outlined circle around it , a gray circle , a gray circle with a gray bigger outline around it , a real big green circle like the whole circle is dark green. I'm mainly just wondering can you tell if they are texting or using the phone at the time or if its on off or on vibrate is that what those different colors mean?

HT2729 what does the "other" category consist of when syncing iPhone
what does the "other" category consist of when syncing iPhone
"Other" data is real data that you put on your phone by using the built in apps. It is not music, not videos, not pictures and not App Store app data. It is "OTHER" meaning everything that does not fall into these categories. Such as:
email messages and attachments
Reminders
Calendar entries
Contacts
Text messages
iMessages
MMS messages and attachments
Genius data
Music cover art
Music library database index (but not the music itself)
Operating system settings
Safari cache
bookmarks
Game Center status
Music catalog
You will find posts from people who said they recovered over 3 GB of space by just deleting old text messages.
If you want Other to be smaller you will have to keep less data on your phone; delete old MMS and texts, delete old email (especially from the "deleted" folder), clear the cache, eliminate cover art.
Sometimes "Other" includes data corruption. If you suspect this is a possibility try connecting to iTunes and click the Restore iPhone button. First restore from backup; the Other doesn't get any smaller you can Restore again and set up as New, then add your content back separately from your backup. -
VGA vs DVI - What's the real difference?
Hi everyone, quick question. I currently have my 19" LCD display hooked up to my MacBook via the Apple Mini-DVI to VGA adapter. Here's my question. What is the real image quality difference between VGA and DVI-D connections?
I don't watch videos or do any video editing, so if that's the difference, I don't need it.
Would I notice any additional display sharpness (especially text and pictures) by upgrading to a monitor with a DVI-D input?
Thanks!
DaveRead the Overview from this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvi
That explain a bit of the benefit of DVI.
I also use my Samsung LCD 19" widescreen with mini DVI to VGA, and so far I'm happy with it, so if you happy with your display color, why bother to spend abnother $19.99 for new adapter.
Good Luck -

What is the real scm latest version ?
What is the real scm latest version/patchset ?
10g, 9i or 9.0.4 ??There is a "latest' version of 6i and 9i and 10g. Each of these uses a similar underlying repository. Each is connected to a Designer that generates a specific release of Developer (6i gens Forms 6i, 9i gens Forms 9i, etc).
About now, the latest 10g is 9.0.4.5, while the latest 9i is 9.0.2.9, and the latest 6i is 4.11. -
Doubt : What is the Exact use of Product/SWCV in an integration process?
Hi XI Gurus,
The XI Documentation(Regarding SWCV) says "All design work is organised By SWCV.This makes sense, as interface logically belongs to a Software component Version"
DOUBT 1 :
What is the Exact Use/Role of Product/SWCV in an integration process? - Is it ONLY for DOCUMENTATION purpose? ie., to just understand the underlying Software used ? OR DOES it have a Technical say in the way the Business System behaves ?.
DOUBT 2 :
What will happen if I create a junk Product(I mean something Meaningless), a junk SWCV BUT while creating a Technical System(I choose Type as WEB AS) BASED on the Junk Product/SWCV ,I give VALID hostname etc...I then create a Business System with data valid data .
Now i have created a TS & BS with Valid HOSTNAME & CLIENT etc. BUT based on the junk Product/Junk SWCV.
NOW in integration dir.,will i be able to configure this Business System as Service for Sending IDOCS/FILE(or anything for that matter)?
If It will work then That means The product/SWCV IS ONLY for documentation purpose. Please rply in detail !
DOUBT 3:
When I import the junk SWCV INTO the IntegrationRepository
& choose import of RFC/IDCOC & give valid connection details to a SAP System , Will it import the RFC Regardless of the Junk SWCV I am using ??
DOUBT 4 :
Business System A(Sender) : SAP R/3(For Example)
Business System B(Receiver) : APO (For Example)
ASSUMPTION : Business system A & B have DIFFERENT SWCV.
Now Which Business System's SWCV do I import in my Integration Repository ?The Sender's or Reciever's ?
and Why ??
It would be great if anyone can help me out.
Thanks,
Arunhi arun..

...generally, u import only ofr Sender business system cos tht is the system wher u have defined all the objects for the scenario...
and integration process for Receiver is defined..

the product defines the name genaerllly, the SWCV definesd within the product...there can be many SWC in an product...so an SWC is the smallest component in an product...

What is the table used outgoing payment to vendors?
What is the table used outgoing payment to vendors?
And which field in the table records the tax codeHi Priyanka,
We need to make clear that which table is used in different step in purchasing process regarding to tax.
For example,
When I post a PO, I can input tax code for each line item. Which table is used to store such information?
When I post an invoice, I can also input tax code. Which table is used to store such info? As far as I know, it is BKPF, right?
And in the actual outgoing payment, can I input different tax code from PO or invoice. If so, which table is used to store such info?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best regards

What is the exact use of statistical updates in V1,V2 and V3
Hi,
Can anyone answer me some questions.
1. what is the exact use of statistial update in V1,v2 and V3. If data is same in both document update and statistical update the why u need a second table with redundant data.
2. When BW extracts data is it recommended to extract from statistical tables or document updated tables.(i read that statistical updation is tailored for reporting)
3. Is V3 applicable only when BW extracts data from R/3.
4.In case of V3 the initialization of updates are done from BW side or R/3 side. i mean is there any relationship between scheduling of dataloading using an infopackage in BW and the V3 process taking place in R/31. First one has to understand that R3 is OLTP system purely used for transactin processing while BW is used for OLAP ie reporting purpose only. At a table level if we do not have a redundant second table the R3 system will be over loaded when the OLTP & the OLAP systems access the same table for their respective purposes. So we have to take data from the document table with a time lag and put into the statistical tables so that BW will get the data as and when required.
2. This question is related to 1 and the above answers both.
3. V3 is a generic process and is used for data extraction from the R3 transaction tables and can be used for any system as such.
4. Both the processes are independent of each other and there is no relationship.
Hope this helps
Cheers

What is the basic use of variables?
Hi,
what is the basic use of variables?
why they are used?
I read it in sap.help site but i m not getting why they are used?
Can u plz explain it with example..
Thank you,
SwatiHi,
A variable is used to store value depending on the definition type like,
Single Value,
Interval,
Selection Option.
When we execute a Query, the variable defined for the particular field will be displayed.
Depending on the input conditions for the variable, the data corresponding to that field will be displayed.
Types :
1) User Entry
2) SAP Exit
3) Customer Exit
Search for these variable types in SDN.
You will get more than enough explanations.:-)

What are the materials used for the earbuds/earphones??
What are the materials used for the earbuds/earphones?? Like whats the plastic used and what are the speaker materials and the volume button???
Hello Veronica176
The materials in Apple headphones include Neodymium magnets, oxygen-free electrolysis copper wire and a Nickel plated plug
Apple uses Neodymium magnets in their headphones as it is much more magnetic compared to that of a ferrite magnet. This also further enhances the accoustics of sound and preventing any loss of sound. Because of this, you can get the same sound out of Apple headphones as the good ol' circum-aural headphones (image attached).
Oxygen free copper wire is created through electrolysis which is furthermore considered an above average material for headphones, thus ensuring better sound quality. Oxygen free copper wire ensures a faster transfer time (as copper is one of the best conductors) and because of this, allows a faster transfer time, minimising loss. This means the sound quality of the music/sound playing may actually depend more on the quality of the MP3 file than the headphones.
The nickel plated plug used by Apple is a standard connection and joins to a female connection into the iPod (for example) which is also nickel plated. Where gold plated plugs are renowned to transfer more data and superior sound quality when connected to any device. Connecting the same metals during transfer (nickel plated plugs and nickel female connections) ensures optimum sound as the signal will not be jumping different kinds of metal. The lack of gold plating also helps to reduce the cost in manufacturing and to the customer.
If you have any more queries, please feel free to ask further questions, it is what we are here for
