What? No Youtube!

I’m just loving the improvements for video formats. Especially the ability to trim videos by setting in and out points, grab jpeg stills from video clips, and the creation of pre-sets to enhance the quick develop tweaks. I just tried making a virtual copy of my MOV file and switched between B&W and sepia. Fantastic!
I also love the smart collection where I can quickly view all videos regardless of which folder they are stored in on the hard drive. The extension of the full force of the DAM system to rate, color code and classify video files like stills is increasingly important.
The biggest omission is the absence of YouTube alongside Facebook and Flickr. Clearly you guys are all photographers - stuck in the past or simply never using the full potential of your DSLR to shoot HD movies.

Thanks for that Victoria.
I’m sure the global leaders, Panasonic and Samsung will be pleased to hear Adobe is catching up. Don’t seem to realize that Flash is dead and connected TV, CSS, HTML5 and JavaScript is the future!

  • Why do certain clips (photos), viewed in preview, on Adobe Premiere 11 look different on YouTube?

    Hi folks,
I've posted, via Adobe Premiere 11, two different music videos on YouTube and on my Facebook page. The first one, "Back In The Day", looks the same on YouTube (and Facebook) as it did when I viewed it (previewed it) on Premiere 11. But the second video, "Wicked World", that I posted on those internet sites, has certain clips (photos) that look different than what's seen on Premiere 11.
With "Wicked World", it almost looks like certain Panned & Zoomed photos are bigger in size than what the YouTube screen can show?
I used Pan & Zoom on some photos in both videos. But maybe with "Wicked World", I always set the "Hold" times to zero (0) when using Pan & Zoom on some photos. Or could it have something to do with the Track Size on the "Wicked World" Premiere 11 video? BTW, I see that by right clicking in an empty part of the track, the Track Size choices come up as small, medium or large.
Or is it something about upload choices on YouTube? Two different friends helped me with uploads to YouTube for each video, so maybe the first one, "Back In The Day", looks OK because that friend chose proper upload choices?
If you have time, or the inclination to see the difference for yourself, you can go on YouTube and type in on the search bar, "Wicked World Bob Fuchs". You'll see both a head shot of me playing harmonica for one YouTube choice, and a painting of Van Gogh as another way to get to the "Wicked World" problem video, and the "Back In The Day" good video.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Once I find out why "Wicked World" photos slide partly off the YouTube screen, I will delete it from YouTube and replace it with an issue free one.
I just want to learn what caused that, hopefully, so I can avoid that problem going forward.
    Thanks!
    Bob Fuchs

    A.T.please note:
After sending you a previous email reply to your latest response, I am forwarding a new thought.
I just tried out something you had suggested. I think it may solve the issue I have with the panned & zoomed photos on my "Wicked World" video - the ones that look weird when I view the video on YouTube (and Facebook).
So, in case you also think the following may be the answer, I will now copy and paste relevant parts of my previous email, PLUS include my new thoughts - in order not to waste your valuable time looking into an answer I may already have.
    Here goes:
The Premiere 11 Edit area monitor Magnification had already been set to "Fit".
In Edit Menu Preferences General, I already had a check mark on "Default Scale to Frame Size".
The properties of the first file (a Title screen) that I dragged into the Timeline are 1920 Horizontal, 1080 Vertical. But properties of subsequent photos, some of which I panned and zoomed, are mostly only around 648x599.
Upon viewing my "Wicked World" video carefully on YouTube, I see that what actually happens is that the box-like area where my video is shown (probably the same size of my Premiere 11 screen edit area?) is smaller than the YouTube's screen viewing area. That does not bother me. However, when the panned and zoomed photos occur, my smaller box area, within the YouTube screen, itself moves along with the panned & zoomed movement of the photos! That inner box moves slightly vertically, either up or down, and to lower right or left, depending on which direction the pan and zoom of each photo is going. And an empty border around the video area hangs there, within the YouTube viewing area.
So ... as you talked about, I tried something: I replaced an existing panned & zoomed photo (clip) in the Timeline with the same photo, and then I clicked on "Scale to Frame Size". The photo got bigger. I then did a new pan and zoom on it, and reduced the duration of how long that photo clip plays. Therefore, although the pan and zoom happens faster, it cues to the proper places in the music (audio) track. And I'm guessing that the larger "Scale to Frame Size" on that photo will now show properly in the YouTube viewing area, without the smaller inner box area moving too, along with the panned and zoomed photo?
I have only done this on one of my previously panned and zoomed photos in the video. But if you think this may solve the viewing issue on YouTube, that I described above, then I'll do the same with all the previously panned and zoomed photos in my video, and save it as a new version on Premiere 11.
I guess I'd then try and delete the existing "Wicked World" video from YouTube, and replace it with the new, hopefully issue-free version.
What do you think? Should I try this, and then replace the old one on YouTube?
    Best Regards,Bob [email protected]

  • Virgin Media 50MB! fck slow in youtubE!!! Im desperate!! Help Please

    Hi!,
This is driving me crazy. Ive got a 50mb speed broadband, that should be more than enough to use internet. The thing is that I dont know why, youtube videos load very very very very slow!!, a 3:00 minute video can take like 7 minutes to complete load!!! When I use myspace, spotify or other video social services is alright, just happens with youtube!! I'd like to upload my videos and hear music in another website, but guess what.. youtube is has the largest database!!! so I have to stick to that #@$@#$@#$@#$ site... Does anybody have the same problem???
    thanks!

standard videos.. Almost all videos upload at superb speed until 30seconds, then it just starts to load really slow... is really strange, Ive seen other websites and it seems to be a mac problem or something because Ive got a pc with windows crap vista and loads much faster than on a mac.

  • Not Visible in iTunes and YouTube doesn't Connect in 2.3

I was happily working away with ATV until upgrade 2.3 and iTunes 8 came out. Since then, I have reverted back to factory reset several times and find that this is the only reliable setup, I'd love to have my MobileMe gallery and YouTube working again but it is more important to have the kids' videos and the family photos available.
I have an MBP, iTunes 8.02, Time Capsule (mixed N&G not hidden), ATV. What's working is the following:
    Movie Trailers
    MobileMe Gallery
    Flickr
I have however lost the following
    Visibility from the MBP iTunes
    YouTube doesn't connect
It looks as if this is another factory reset and resync of the 100GB of movies/photos/music again..... I am getting really ticked off by all of this.
Can anyone out there answer the following
what have YouTube and iTunes visibility have in common?
why isn't Apple more responsive to the numerous posts?
    how can this be resolved?
I understand that there are many posts out there on this but many speak of equipment incompatibilities but I am totally Apple. Any help would be appreciated and I will detail the solution for my circumstance if I get one.

here is what i posted a bit ago. 1st i believe u need the 2.3 upgrade for utube.
i have x10.5.6 imac and i did this:
if you have ANY problems with ATV, first thing you do is (on your mac) go to finder, applications, utilities, disk utility, then click on the disk containing itunes (mac HD for me) then choose "repair disk permissions". i then rebooted.
next if (or when) the device doesn't show (in itunes), go on ATV - settings, general, network, configure wireless (u will have to choose your network and input your password again) then done. that makes my device show up.
if the connect to itunes grays out do the above again, *don't choose to disconnect from itunes!* this seems to work to resume the connection, rather than start all over again.
This is what i kept doing - starting over, using reset and also stopping the current sync connection. this is what u should NOT DO.
the first item (utility disc correct) fixes the firewall problem (so far anyway) i have accept all incoming on my mac firewall, but not on my router (belkin) no problems since i have followed all this stuff i am writing.
make sure all the items you want to see in your ATV are check marked in your itunes, otherwise itunes thinks you don't want to view those items.
let itunes automatically choose, as long as you have everything checked it should all show up.
when itunes chooses, some items are streamed, some are synced. UNCHECK the "show only synced items" i have never had any luck with the custom
if (when is more like it for me) the itunes stops syncing, now i click sync again or go in the ATV and redo all that network gobbledegook - i changed my password so it was easier to type in! - and it continues from where it left off! REPEAT, DO NOT CANCEL AND START OVER ON THE SYNC TO ITUNES, that is what i kept doing and it was continuously reloading everything.
you do have to keep itunes on, though, and i have my settings so my computer is never put to sleep (but my monitor goes to standby) I am not brave enough right now to try the custom, as i said it seems that keeps disappearing on me. hope this works for you

  • Videos from my iPhone won't upload to YouTube? Just started happening

Videos on my iPhone won't be accepted by YouTube or FlickR.  I get messages saying that there is something wrong with the file.  I haven't done anything differently than before.  What's going on?

Good question for YouTube and FlickR. What does YouTube and FlickR technical support have to say about this since this?

  • IPad updated and now youtube is nowhere to be found.

I updated my iPad this morning and I noticed that YouTube was no longer on my device. I have looked in the settings at the restrictions and it is also not listed on there. I thought that maybe I just needed to download it from the App Store however it is not on there either. Does anyone have any ideas?

Apple took it off from os6. Go to safari, go to YouTube.com and it will bring up something that looks very similar to what the YouTube app looked like before(opening trending videos) it will even ask if you want to add it to your home screen. Select "yes" and it will put a link on your screen. Just as easy as the real app used to be!

  • Why does my macbook pro go to sleep when i move it?

I'll be sitting a my desk and decide to slightly move my macbook pro so its facing me a little better and it will go to sleep.
I have a MacBook Pro (retina display) 13-inch, which I bought in February 2014.
It happened both when I had it connected to power and when it was running just off battery.
I was watching youtube videos at the time, and now that I've stopped the problem has gone away.
What would youtube have to do with my macbook going to sleep?
And now I've gone back into youtube and its not doing it anymore, so confused?

  • Greyed out Menu Choices

    I'm using Sountrack 1.5.
The menu choices: Search, Favorites, Bin, Effects (under the Windows menu) are all greyed out.
I have on my hard drive all the support files. (in the Library folder, Audio, etc)
I have no idea why these are grey. I can't start my project. I tried the manual but have no idea what to search for. As far as I know everything is set correctly.
How can I get these choices to activate to be able to access the support files, etc.
    Please help.

Do you have to make that selection for you to continue in the upload? Have you remember to complete all the fields besides the one asking about Public, Unlisted, and Private?
Is this a "it worked before but not now" or "it never worked before" type matter.
What are the properties of your source media, what have you selected as the project preset, and what specific YouTube export setting are you designating for your upload? What is the file size and duration according to the YouTube export dialog?
Can you export that Timeline to a file saved to the computer hard drive and then upload the file from the hard drive save location to YouTube at the YouTube web site?
We will be watching for your follow up to decide what next.
Are you having any other problems with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1?

  • Can't get gmail to work on 4S

    Hi,
No matter what I do I cannot set up my gmail account on my 4S (ATT). I've read the gmail threads on Google's website re this issue, and followed what their YouTube clip says to do re 2-Step-Verification for gmail on iPhone's (generates a password to use with the iPhone) but not even that works. Any ideas? (I really don't want to use to Google's iOS 5 app, but am for the time being. Would much prefer to use the mail setup program for gmail under the phone settings).
    Thanks!

  • FlashPlayer 10.6 Plugin Crashes Safari

    MacBook Pro, OS 10.6.7
FlashPlayer 10.6 is constantly crashing the Safari (5.0.5) browser. Each time I get the following message:
    Problem Report for Safari
Safari quit unexpectedly while using the FlashPlayer-10.6 plugin.
Any information how to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Hi, no I wouldn't recommend using it. I asked because some Mac users with Safari do use it. The purpose of it is Flash content is blocked, then if a person wants to view a particular website with Flash content or videos, they "Click-To-Flash". Which some users use it as a Security measure.
I've seen your other thread, but the issues are not anything I have experience with. Hopefully someone that does will respond. The regular active Helpers here on the Forum sometimes can't be on at all times, due to other circumstances. Time Zones, etc.
If you have the Shockwave Flash plugin Enabled as you've checked, then something else must be blocking or causing it to crash. One thing would have been that Click-To-Flash if it was not turned off.
Is it only a certain website that this happens on or all sites that have Flash content or videos?
What about youtube videos? Are they working properly?
I'll look in my folders and see if there is any info there that may help.
    Thanks,
eidnolb                 EDIT: I meant to ask if you had used that test site that Pat asked about it Post #1? This will give some info, especially the
version of Flash Player that is Installed. That error message you received is confusing.

  • How do you view web content that requires a Flash plug in?

The iPad is my first Apple product.  There seem to be restrictions that limit access to various of my favorite web sites.  Work arounds or other options?

    Julian Wright wrote:
The Flash plugin version 11 will be available for all current Android and other devices forever.
Wrong! There are plenty of "current Android" devices that cannot run Flash because they don't run and will never run Android 2.2 or above. Likewise there are plenty of "other devices" that can't run Flash too.
I'm not concerned about devices which don't run Flash. The point is that there is Flash content on the web, and there are mobile devices that support it. You may not care, but obviously judging by many posts, some people do.
And companies like RIM are making sure that their devices will continue to support it, I'm sure Android will be right there with them.
Although you are correct that Adobe said nothing about deprecating it on the desktop (quite the opposite in fact), if companies are investing in HTML5 sites for the growing number of mobile users, they're not going to bother creating a Flash version for desktop users, when those desktop users can view exactly the same HTML5 site. Why make two sites when one will work on everything.
Because HTML5 can not do everything Flash can, therefore there will still be content created in Flash. Like Games, and high end video sites. What is more likely to end is mobile website development, and instead the region will be dominated by apps, with desktop web browsing still offering the best experiences coupled with plugins like Flash.
Flash will never rule the desktop. Proprietary technologies are dying. Standards are becoming the norm. (BTW native applications for different OSs are not the same as proprietary technologies).
You say "never" yet right now as you say it, the desktop is ruled by Flash and other plugins, and has been since day 1 of it's creation. Flash is what created youtube, facebook games. Plugins created sites like netflix and games like runescape. How you can say never, while standing in it is insane.
Bottom line, the desktop is going to be even more media rich due to Flash 11 and stage3d and hardware acceleration. And yes, many mobile devices won't be able to run that content and will have to use apps, but for those that want them, the devices will exist and so will the content.
The iPhone has been out nearly 6 years now... never supported Flash, and yet here we are, people still flooding the forums daily asking for it. How many more years and devices will you go through before you're HTML web finally emerges? 6 more?

  • Large photo import to iMovie crashes my computer

I have about 100gb of photos for a time lapse project. When I import the photos to iMovie (even <20%), it crashes my iMac. Is there a way to reduce the photos' file sizes on import or do I need to work in batches?

Rather than uploading from iMovie's preset, try exporting first then upload using YouTube's built-in uploader.
In iMovie go to the menu item "Share". Select Export Movie. Choose an appropriate size (resolution), such as Large, HD 720p or HD 1080p. Save it to the Desktop (or your preferred location). Log in to YouTube and use the uploader at the top of the page. This will allow you to navigate to your exported movie. The movie will be either a .mov or .m4v file, depending on the size you exported as. It will be in the same format (H.264) that iMovie's preset for YouTube produces (so nothing is lost using the alternative method).
iMovie appears to limit the duration to 15 minutes, regardless of what your YouTube account allows. Perhaps you have a much longer movie - this may be the reason for iMovie's misbehaviour.

  • Flash changes font-weight in Safari

When trying to determine what font youtube uses for their descriptions, I find an answer until I widdled their code down to this.
    http://pastebin.com/Hup85r6J
I have a screen shot of Safari 6.0.2 rendering this page on OSX 10.8.2.  It was taken on a retina screen, that's why it's so large.
    http://postimage.org/image/ly1nvpz0l/
As you can see the second line of text seems to have a smaller font-weight than the first line and I was wondering if anyone could tell me why.  If you remove the flash object or change any of the CSS, the text will be the same.
    Thanks,
    Chad

alright, also, I saw that in those instructions it tells me to delete these:
    <home directory>/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash\ Player
    <home directory>/Library/Caches/Adobe/Flash\ Player
now I can't find any of that stuff but I did find two files called com.macromedia.Flash Player.plugin.sb
in the library sub folders. should I delete them?
