What should be the setup if you want RFC rely on a 3rd party apps' data?

Is it possbile to maintain the master record like purchasing group, material group, purchasing org,etc.. by taking it from a 3rd party software? The client wants it that way so less work for the functional to do the configuration.
Is there a bapi that could get it from the 3rd party app other than accessing sAP tables directly?
Or should I create a function module that woould create purch_org/grp, matrl_code, gl_acct, wbs, etc?
The setup is: we have a .net web apps as frontend and rfc as backend. SAP has no data yet.. And their plan is to get the data from the 3rd party.

I wont suggest to completely rely for all the database table on 3rd party system. For each & every validation, you need to call an RFC & check the 3rd party database tables & again send the results back to R/3.
Also for each database update, RFC's would be called. This would be time consuming & wont give a realtime interface if the network is not upto the requirement.

Do a search in this forum about forgot passcode or phone is disabled because of forgotten passcode.
See how many threads there are for that, now imagine if what you want happens, how many threads do you think we will have about not remember the passcode.

How can I restore 3rd party app data from my backup in the cloud

First a brief history. I use the iCloud to backup my iPad 2 and hardly ever synch it to itunes on my computer. I got the new iPad and restored the backup of my iPad 2 onto it. All was fine except that an issue I had on my iPad 2's Safari had transferred over to my new iPad. That's is for another discussion. Anyhow I went to the genius bar and they said to just setup my new iPad as a new device and then manually install everything back on it. Stuff like mail, contacts, etc, would be reloaded from the cloud. So I did and I noticed that one of my 3rd party apps, MadPad, had none of my saved data. Does anyone know of a way to restore 3rd party app data from the iCloud? Is there some sort of utility out there that would do this? I don't want to restore it from my previous iPad 2 backup because it will reintroduce the Safari problem back onto my new iPad.

Assuming that you even have a backup with the data in it, you have no choice but to use a backup in order to restore that data. That is the idea behind backing up to iCloud. If that is the only backup that you have - then that is the one that you have to use.
But if the backup is bad - or had corrupt data - then you will end up with the corrupt data again. You cannot selectively restore app data from a backup. you restore all settings and data - or nothing at all.

Can I move an iTunes library from Comp1 to Comp2 through Home Sharing? What happens with the first sync? What happens to 3rd party app data (specifically, game scores/levels)?

I need to move an iTunes library from Computer 1 to Computer 2. Can I do this through Home Sharing, by dragging and dropping library items from one to the other? The library consists of iTunes purchases, home shared items and music/movies from our personal collection. Both computers have had all the accounts authorized, so I don't anticipate an issue there. I'd like to do this so that my son's ipod is impacted as little as possible -- specifically, his game scores/levels and other 3rd party data remain intact after the 1st sync and the organization of his icons remain intact.
Is there a way to do this smoothly and easily, protecting his ipod data/organization?

Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear. If you replicate the library from Computer 1 to Computer 2 by copying it, then all will be well. I routinely sync my iPhone and iPad both at home and at work using a single library that I migrate between the two locations via an external drive which is kept up do date using SyncToy.
Backup the iPod touch on Computer 1.
Copy the entire iTunes folder from Computer 1 to Computer 2, replacing any existing iTunes folder on Computer 2.
Check that content is accessible in the migrated library. (Won't be a problem for a standard iTunes library where all the content is inside the iTunes Media folder which in turn is inside your iTunes folder).
Connect iPod touch to Computer 2.
Sync.
In the unlikely event that something goes wrong (it won't) then you can connect the device back to Computer 1 to restore it.
Note device backups are not stored within the iTunes library and stay on the machine on which they were created. It is theorectically possible to migrate them but there isn't really any point. Once you have synced the iPod with the copy of the library on Computer 2 then Computer 2 will make its own backup of the device.

Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone.

1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.

for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

My understanding is that you can click on the phots that you want to move and drag it to a new location within the same album. After i select the photo that I want to move and click on the photo, I get a cirlcle with a diagonal throught it and am unable to drag the photo to its new location. What am I doing wrong? In the Elements Organizer 13
The key to all this is to click on/select/highlight the Album that you have created in Local Albums.
Then make sure that the Sort By: (in the row below the highlighted "Media" header is set for Album Order.
You should see a number at the top left of each of thumbnails.
Then, click on the thumbnail that you want to move, hold down the click, and drag the thumbnail to the wanted new location
in the line up of thumbnails.
Often I had to press down hard on the drag.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
Also, in Edit Menu/Preferences/Keyword Tags and Albums/Enable Manual Sorting Options, I set all for manual.

The extension is usually .mov, .m4v, or .mp4. But you can't just change the extension. The movies have to be encoded in a particular fomat. Anything downloaded from iTunes or plays in Quicktime player will be fine.

Is there a way to show the alert 'Do you want to save the changes you have made?', after entering each record.
i.e. as soon as a record is entered, user should be prompted to 'Do you want to save the changes?' the record when they move to the next record.
I used the below code in Post-Record rigger. Prompt was diplaying fine as per the requirement,but record was not being saved.

I used forms_ddl('commit_FORM') to commit the record. Because we can't us Do-key('commit_form') in post-record trigger. But forms_ddl('commit_FORM') is not working. So can anybody please give some idea regarding this.

Forms_ddl issues dynamic sql - you cannot call another builtin (like commit_form) within forms_ddl. Check form_status after the call and you will see that it failed.
Moreover, forms is not able to execute the post and commit process if you issue "forms_ddl('commit');", so this will not be a solution either.
You could use the When-New-Record-Instance - Trigger, which allows restricted built-ins to be executed, and issue do_key('commit_form');". However, you would have to check the :system.block_status or :system.form_status, because :system.record_status will already hold the new record number.

How to enforce the message "Do you want to save changes?" when the user attempts to close a form after checking a non-database item (check-box).
All the other database items in the block are not updateable and only viewable.
After checking the non database item check-box, if the user tries to commit, then the system is saving the changes and call the appropriate procedure on save.
But if the user tries to close the window without committing, the form is not showing the message "Do you want to save changes?" since the check-box is a non database item.
How to enforce the message "Do you want to save changes?" in this scenario when the user tries to close the window?

This is a fairly common question in the forum. You will need to override the default exit form process and check to see if the checkbox is checked. You can do this in the Key-Exit trigger. For Example:

BTW, what happens if all the user does is check the checkbox? No other changes have occured. What changes are you trying to process?
