You have to add another email address on one of the two devices that you can use as the "You can be reached for FaceTime at" contact address and then remove/uncheck the Apple ID email address as the contact address on that device. The way you are currently setup is like to trying to call yourself on your on phone - from your own phone.
Using the iPad as the example go to Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached for FaceTime at>Add another email address. Then add a working email address in the next window. Apple will verify the email. Go to the inbox of that email account, read and respond to Apple's email in order to complete the verification process.
Go back to Settings>FaceTime>Uncheck the Apple ID email address and make sure that the new email address is checked/selected (you will see it being verified again) and that new email address will be your contact address for the iPad.

Have you tried a Reset...

What's the difference between new Apple TV and last one

What's the difference between the last Apple TV model and the new one? Do I need to buy the new one or will the sofware update catch me up to the same standard as the new one?

The bottom line is that the new one will output 1080p, this is achieved by an upgraded processor and reportedly additional RAM.

On june 13, i went to Sears here in Mexico and bought my first mac beacuse many of my friends told i should "jump into the world of mac", cause i´ve always had pc´s, and for my surprise, on june 17 my brand new MAC didn´t turn on, so i called your support, they told me that i should do some things, after that, and still didnt turn on, they told that i should take my mac to and authorized mac store, which i did, Plaza Andares Zapopan Jalisco, after a week, i´m still waiting for an answer, ´cause they are running some test to determine what its the problem.....i feel such furious about my purchase, because i even bought the time capsule, ipod dock, office for mac, games, apple care protection (which i recived last tuesday directly from you), oh by the way, your support told me i can´t recive a new one, so, my brand new MAC with 3 days of use will be a repaired one, and thats not all, i still dont have it after a week, and perhaps will take more than a week.
What can i spect from your brand. I feel really disapointed with this, i spend a lot of money with you and i dont recive what i think i should get.

The apple store i took my MAC still doesnt upload the serial number so i can track the situation of my MAC.
I hope you will do something about my MAC and soon, because i was specting more from MAC, and i´m getting nothing.

I understand your frustration. We all go through similar situations with our computers but not usually with a brand new one.

Where you took the Mac to be repaired... did they give you any idea how long it would take?
Also, keep all the paperwork from any repairs for future use. They could come in handy!

What is the difference between an apple id and a .mac name?

I already have an Apple id that I set up when registering my macbook and for my itunes account. My Apple id is not an email address, it is just a word. I now want to get a .mac account but am not sure whether I am supposed to use the same id for this, or can I choose another name? Would this then be my menber name and my email name? I would prefer a combination of letters and numbers.

Supposedly they've merged... although I do find from time-to-time, that sometimes you need to enter just <userid>, and other times <[email protected]> to login to a particular service.

You are not suppose to have owner's security question, owner is. Either owner will take care of it or you purchased a paperweight, return it.

I have an active existing iTunes store account and use the same Apple ID for signing into my iTunes Connect Account that distributes Apps.
I have created some books using the iBook author and in order to distribute content on the iBookstore I have been told electronically that I need a new Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information valid until 2013?
I want to create a Paid Books Account using the same email address, tax information and bank information. This has been most frustrating, as I cannot get passed the sign in section and there is no contact person I can speak to. I was of the understanding the iTunes connect account and the Developer programs which I paid good money for is all what I needed to be paid for selling iBooks on the iBookstore???
I only have one email address and wish to also use it for the Paid Books Account. I have books ready to be exported and published.
I am also having trouble locating and downloading iTunes Producer. I understand I need to have the Paid Books Account active to access the iTunes Producer program. Please help.

If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?

While downloading the new apple software to my I-phone , a prompt asked me to input my "Apple ID and password", BUT the option to by-pass and continue was also offfered, so I by-passed and did not enter my Apple ID or password because I had forgotten it temporarily and wished to continue the lengthy time to download.
Consequently, when I attempt to add updates to the Apps. on my I-Phone, a new prompt appears stating that my "Apple ID has Been DISABLED." There is no additional language as to why it was disabled in regard to my I-phone. FYI, my "Apple ID and Password" continue to function ., ie are "ENABLED",in regard to my Apple desk top computer.
This disabling of my Apple ID results in an inability to update my I-phone for anything.
My question/request is as follows: How do I "enable" my apple use by having my I-phone recognize my existing Apple ID and password ?

What happened to the unification of Apple ID and telephone number? I've upgraded to IOS 6 and latest Lion, 10.8.2, and there appears to be no merging of Apple ID and telephone number as promised. Am I missing something?

I have since managed to test this myself after I had seen it it in another post.
Like You I got this Messages that the Number was being treated as an Email and "Verification email had been Sent" but it just stays greyed out.
I have two iPhones (G3S) and had lined one Apple ID as an Additional Email on the other.
When I updated to iOS 6 (Having done OS X 10.8.2 first) I was asked by both Phones if I wanted to link the Numbers in Messages (i.e. for each phone the same alert pop up appeared asking to accept linking or the Apple ID's and iPhone Numbers whilst I was in Messages on the Mac).
I declined linking the second Number this way.
In trying to "unlink" one of the additional emails on one Phone I got a warning to say it would be removed from All devices.
I have yet to see if you can delete one name then re-add it to the devices (or app) you want to use it On.

You need to immediately pull credit reports to see what else he has done. Then "freeze" the credit report at all three agencies. That way even you need to lift the freeze to add credit cards or other credit items to your SSN.

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.
