Hi,
I have a little mobile project that i'll be running in a windows mobile 5, specifically in my HP Ipaq PDA.
My problem is that I don't know how to start.
1. In creating a Net Beans project, what do I choose between Mobile Application or the CDC Application?
2. Can I run my app on windows mobile 5?
Please help me with this one :)

In general, HTML5 is the expected/preferred path. You can do numerous animations/transitions in HTML5 with a few lines of CSS and/or JavaScript.
A quick search for HTML 5 transitions turns up lots of candidates.

We've been trying to establish where Adobe is going with mobile development but just can't figure it out. Can anyone clarify please?
For example, when will Dreamweaver be updated to properly support the latest versions of Phonegap/Cordova (i.e. v3.x)? Or is there no commitment to Phonegap? Blackberry, WebOS, Symbian are still shown but not supported. And Windows Phone is supported but not shown.
There seems to be a lack of interest from Adobe for Phonegap/Dreamweaver support.
Alongside our investment in Flash, which is now killed off, we previously invested time in native app development, then started using FlashBuilder because of Adobe's support for mobile app development, but Flashbuilder isn't properly supported now. Then switched to dreamweaver/phonegap because of Adobe's commitment to develop once and distribute to many platforms. But it seems to be a dwindling commitment and Phonegap isn't planned to support Blackberry 10. Creative Cloud seemed like a step towards supporting better development and faster access to updated software but the products have hardly been updated since we adopted it. So, we're just trying to establish if there is a strategy or go back to native app development with eclipse and xcode or look for another solution.
We've recently seen "Adobe Experience Manager" in the press but it seems like a lot of marketing blurb with no real substance in terms of a development strategy and how the Adobe products fit in.
Any clarification of the strategy would be really useful. Anyone got any ideas?

you only have the two possibilities which where shown: Backweb or Attachments. As you say I got more bad experience with Attachments due to the fact that you need BP's or Activities. If you are using SAP Portal my recommendation is Backweb. I installed it under CRM 3.0 and it is really good. Easy to use and reliable. Admins need 30 min for training, Enduser about 5 Minutes and it works - what should I say more

What to use for NW04s development systems

Hi all,
till now we were developing on NW04, with the devlopers having XP (SP2) laptops with an installed WebAS 6.40, Portal, KMC running with an MSDE(MSSQL 2000). So far so good. But we now have to switch to NW04s. Looking into service.sap.com/swdc I find unter update just Updatemasters for Win Server not XP. Therefore I also get an error while installation that this setup is not ment to be used with this OS. Is it possible at all to install 04s under XP? Where do I get the installation files from? How are you guys doing it? WE do have a develop server ( unix) in place which is attached to the NWDI - but it is not very handy with a bunch of webdynpro developers to all do the testing on one server. Maybe somebody can help me on this - would appreciate it!

Well you should download SR2 cd's How to get into it.
service.sap.com/swdc. This is the software distribution center. Go to download and down load by application group. select netweaver and then NW2004s. There you get the option of selecting the OS and inside a particular OS you have the option to chose your database. You get a list of cd's. Here you can select the Instalation master, export, database, kernel, java, Components cd. Rest of the choice is your's. Proceed to download.
Remember that this SR2 is the SPS09 level. While the current release is SPS11. So hence forth you can go to service.sap.com/sp-stacks and select the patches of your choice moving quite the same way and then download those patches and further apply them using JSPM. Ensure that your SDMKIT.JAR and kernel files are included in the list.
To use JSPM you should login as sidadm and also place all the contents under trans/EPS/in folder.

What type of graph should I use in mobile application

I have an application under jdev 11g.
Some of my pages are exposed for mobile but they include DVT component.
The DVT is not shown in mobile browser.
I tried the trinidad chart also the graph is not displayed.
Kindly advise which is the best graph component to be used in mobile application (JFREE CHART, ...)

Hi, Emile, which DVT components are you using for your mobile pages? Is it ADF Data Visualization or ADF Data Visualization Core? Mobile support for DVT components is in the ADF Data Visualization Core set of components.
Trinidad Chart is not a supported component - you would need to use ADF DV Core set of components.
Please note that ADF Data Visualization Core is a new feature in JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 that was just released on July 1st with FMW 11g.
One last little reminder - when creating a page to be rendered on Mobile Browser, the JSF page should not contain any ADF Faces components (i.e. af: tags) or ADF Data Visualization Components. Including these tags would cause the ADF Faces RC framework files to be downloaded to mobile devices.
If you are using ADF Data Visualization Core components in 11.1.1.1.0, but they do not show up in your mobile browser, please specify the mobile browser you are using. While Trinidad components in general now works on virtually any mobile browsers, DVT core does not. Please let us know what you are using and we can look into it.

Steps to take to resolve this issue:
1/ Turn off Wifi
2/ Ensure Mobile (cellular) data is on
3/ Turn iPhone OFF and then ON (re-boot iPhone)
4/ Without turning Wifi on, open an app that requires mobile (cellular) data.
5/ The app will now show on the Settings list with the option to enable or disable mobile (cellular) data
6/ In time all apps that require or use mobile data will be added to the list automatically.

Using a mobile program to interpret Archived media

Hopefully i'll make this clear;
I'm developing a program in Java ME that will provide a variety of media to the mobile user. They will navigate by way of a map, which will have 'hotspots' on it. When a hotspot is activated, they will be able to view a variety of media, from text to images and small soundbytes.
The actual content will be written by scholars; my job is to create a program that allows them to write the content, and then drop it into the delivery system (also devised by me) and distribute it. The data itself may be changed, and as such, it must be possible to reload and edit the data.
What I had in mind to solve my dilemma was a program with a standard swing interface which allows the scholars to enter their data into the system. Then, what I wanted to do was to 'grab' a pre-prepared ME program, and then use the Jar editor in Java to enter my media into the Jar file. In theory, this will also allow me to compress some of the text, saving valuable space.
However, I'm not certain how to go about:
1) Changing the Jar file. Will I also need to make changes to the Jad file? Will there be other changes?
2) How to get my media (images, audio, text) into the program once this has been accomplished.
Also, are there any additional API's for Java ME that I could safely assume are on most Java capable phones? The base ME API's are a little bare to say the least.

I have started to work on mobile development using Flex 4.5 recently.
But basically I need some clarifications on Flex 4.5 mobile development.
1. What kind of mobile development can we do in Flex 4.5 SKD ?
2. What kind of mobile apps can we build using Flex 4.5 SDK ? (I mean just basic apps or some complex apps like requesting servers and displaying some charts and graphs, playing videos and image gallery on the devices etc...)
3. What is the difference in developing mobile apps using Flex 4.5 SDK and Platform based SDK's (like Android SDK for android or iOS SDK for apple or Blackberry SDK for balckberry) ?
These are the basic questions I have right now...
