Whats the Coherence framework log message for cache expiry?

Hi,
I have a requirement to monitor Coherence logs when framework automatically flushes the cache based on expiry-delay value.
Can someone tell me what the log level should be to display that message and what kind of message should I expect?
Thanks,
Akanksha

I may be wrong, but I don't believe Coherence logs such fine grained data.  Easy enough to test though - just turn the log level up to 9 and evict some entries!
By the way, I've always run even my production servers at log level 9.  It's pretty standard to do so.

    A Message Broker is somewhat analogous to a database server. Multiple clients connect to it to exchange messages. As with a database a client first establishes a connection, then requests specific facilities like subscriptions.
    It creates a strong decoupling between sender and receiver and handles stuff like allowing multiple receivers for the same message, queuing of messages for applications not currently running and so on.
    (And don't worry, you can get perfectly good message brokers for free such as openMQ and activeMQ.)

  • Does class-scheme in the coherence config file works for C++ classes?

    Hello,
    Does anyone knows if the class-scheme in the coherence config file works for C++ classes as well? In other words if I have a C++ implementation of com.DBCacheStore will it work?
    <class-scheme>
    <class-name>com.DBCacheStore</class-name>
    <init-params>
    <init-param>
    <param-type>java.lang.String</param-type>
    <param-value>AAA</param-value>

    </init-params>
    </class-scheme>

    Hello Robert,
    I am refering here to both C++ client and Coherence Server. Will it work in either of the cases?
    Thanks,
    JayHi Jay,
    Coherence server: it definitely won't do anything with C++.
    C++ client: for the cache store of a local cache residing within the C++ client you may be able to specify it, but it will have nothing to do with the cluster itself. I never worked with the C++ client, so I can't guarantee you can configure it that way. Look at the following page for further documentation:

    Log in to your account, and move all your files to your home folder. No other users should be able to access them there and they won't show up with a Spotlight search.

  • Detect what the default edit form is for a document library and list using jquery

    Hi,
    So what I have done is with some jquery made it that when a files are dragged and dropped into a document library and there is a required field such as "Metadata" the EditForm.aspx opens up for the user to fill in the required column. I am building
    the url up from what I have found in SharePoints DragDrop.js file. This is all working perfectly I just need to find a way to dynamically find what the default edit form is for that document library as I have just hardcoded like this...
    g_currentControl.strSiteUrl + "/" + this.ListName + "/Forms/EditForm.aspx?ID=" + id
    So I need a way to figure out what the default edit form is instead of hard coding like this in case someone creates a custom_editform.aspx or something for one of the lists.
    Thanks

    You can get it by hitting this REST end point via JQuery:

    Whats the best alternative to idvd for burning a disk with pics to play in a dvd player? I don't want to deal with older versions of ilife.

    Whats the best alternative to idvd for burning a disk
    In my opinion, there are none.
    Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others.  None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.
    IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

    Hi,

    pls help

    I'm afraid I don't understand what you're trying to accomplish here. What is "command is successfully executed" intended to represent in your CREATE statement and in the anonymous PL/SQL block.
    What do you mean "it should occur in row by row order" and "success message of execution should be displayed in the log file"?
    Why are you trying to log to an external file rather than a table in the database? When you start talking about "row by row" and "success message", that starts to imply that you're going to be logging a lot of stuff. Logging a lot of data to an external file is going to be a substantial performance burden. Are you sure that is what you want to accomplish?

  • Choosing the type of data valid for caching

    During discussions with other members of our team, we have been questioning what objects we should and shouldn't cache.
         One suggestion has been to cache account details whilst they are used (like a user session) and then either remove or let the objects expire from the cache. This would allow system components to access the object without having to pass the object around.
         To me, this isn't the sort of data that is traditionally cached but I'd be interested to hear other views. Coherence does seem to allow the boundaries to be pushed.
         Mike

    Hi Mike,
         Coherence is commonly used for a number of scenarios:
         1) The most obvious, data caching (near cache)
         2) Metadata and security information (replicated cache)
         3) Session management (near cache)
         4) Messaging and queueing (distributed cache)
         Coherence is very well suited for most situations that involve sharing data between cluster members or communicating between members. Pretty much any scenario outside of bulk video streaming (though people do ask about that occasionally).
         In your situation, Coherence makes data sharing extremely simple, which is a further benefit (no need for RMI, etc).
         The decision is based on whether it is cheaper to pull data from cache than from an external data source. The answer is almost always yes, for two reasons: (1) cached data is very efficient to manage and access and (2) the application tier is very inexpensive (cost-wise) in terms of capital and recurring expenses relative to the back-end tier(s).

  • Log messages for 'auditing' are different in 'general'  and'application log

    Hi,
    From UI, When I audit a file using a profile which comprises of user-defined 'rules/categories/analyzers', I will get log messages at ''File-name(Application) log window' and 'Messages' log window, which are located at bottom of Jdev UI page. One common message in both the log windows is
    " <n1> violations, <n2> exceptions, <n3> documents, <n4> seconds>.
    But here the 'n1,n2,...' numbers are dfferent in two windows though the log output is for a same file. In this the 'file-name' log shows the correct
    Example:-
    In 'file-name' log window ,it shows as:
    3 documents, 8 violations, no exceptions
    In messages window, it shows as
    "Audit starting on EFC.jpr (Default)
    Audit completed: no violations, no exceptions, 3 documents, 1 second"
    If I use the 'pre-existed'(Jdev's) rules profile, I will get similar output in both log windows.
    From this I concluded that there is something missing to register for a new 'rule/category/analyzer'.
    Could you suggest me in this case. Do I forgot anything to do in any files of '<rule-implementation.java>', 'audit.properties', <add-in launcher>.java, extension.xml.
    Actually, I want to use 'ojaudit' executable from command line to my project files. Here I observed that the output of the 'ojaudit' is similar to the above explained 'Message' log window in JDeveloper UI. But where the 'Message' log window output is not correct for user-defined rules.
    Regards
    Madhu

    Romano,
    In the upcoming production release (planned to be released next week), we added caching of authorized roles and permissions in JhsAuthorizationProxy class.
    I suggest you wait for this relase, if the problem persists, it is most likely an ADF issue (as is the logging)

  • Ipod Nano not recognized by itunes but appears on the explorer. Log message

    My ipod doesn't appear on itunes but is recognized by windows. It used to work before.
    I have found several answers to this problem but no one can't solve the problem : 5R, Terminal Service, Ipod Service, Restore, Reset, Usb, Last version of Itunes....
    With the last version of Itunes, I have launched the diagnotisc and the result is four green led.
    I have recorded the log file and into this one there are few message that show errors (I have copied only interesting messages):
    [SERVICE: 0x140,08:48:25 ERROR] Did not find first letter of stage
    [SERVICE: 0x980,08:51:21 INFO] Device 1 not in intermediate state. It appears to be truly mounted.
    [SERVICE: 0x980,08:51:21 INFO] File does not exist!
    [SERVICE: 0x980,08:51:21 INFO] [1] CreateFileW error 0x3
    [SERVICE: 0x980,08:51:21 INFO] [1] WriteNewPrefs FAILED!
    [SERVICE: 0x980,08:51:21 INFO] [1] ReadDevicePreferences() failed!
    I can't understand these messages but I have the feeling that they have a relation with the hidden file Preferences store in ipod_control\device
    When I tried to open Preferences with "bloc note" of windows it doesn't work. Maybe this file is corrupted seen that I can open the file "SysInfo" which is in the same repertory. When I format the Ipod with FAT32, these files reappeared with the next power on and I have always same problem.
    Does anyone know if this file "Preferences" is readable with a valid iPOD?
    What mean "Did not find first letter of stage?" of the log message?
    Thanks for your answers,
    Nicolas

    If its brand new and doing this, return it with receipt.

  • Changing the APEX framework Error Message

    I was wondering if anyone could help me out here.  I am faced with a security issue where I need to hide any and all APEX framework error messages.  Specifically, I need to hide the error messages on the screen you get when trying to access an application that doesnt exists (the whitescreen with the red "x").  This had been implemented already in the past, however, the 4.2 upgrade knocked it out.  To change this in 4.1.1 is just a matter modifying the APEX_040100.WWV_FLOW_ERROR package.
    Does anyone have any suggestions here?  Any and all would be appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Shawn

    What is the specific security issue you are facing?
    This sounds like a generic penetration test, perhaps something along the lines of "Error messages reveal the underlying technology" or "Error messages can contain information helpful to an attacker". This is because of the ORA- messages. I would push back on this and see if you can argue the point that;
    a) The technology can not be hidden, we (for example) have written detection routines for nessus to detect APEX without relying on any error output.
    b) Ask for a *specific* example where the framework error message has lessened the security posture of the application/framework.
    c) If you cannot then you really do need help to ensure that any changes/patches to the framework do not decrease application stability. What is the risk to the business? Can the business accept this low risk?
    d) Just because somebody saw an 'ORA-01403: no data found' message once doesn't instantly mean you are insecure.
    Though saying that, it would be a good feature to suggest, certainly a 'turn all errors off' might easily combat these types of over-zealous security reports: https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=55447
