When connected to Netflix I get an annoying beep every 6 to 10 minutes. Why?

I have been a member of Netflix for several years. However, in the last 2 weeks whenever I am connected to the site, to watch in-stream movies, the computer sounds a beep at intervals, while I was immersed in the plot ('''was''' because I am not anymore in it due to the beeping), as if I was talking to a jailbird.
Netflix tells me they didn't change anything in my subscription.
What is the problem?

I have been experiencing these beeps off and on when streaming video, but it isn't the browser, as I generally use Chrome and my phone (Dolphin). It went away for a little while, but now it's back.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

    In the Console window, select

  • When connected to wifi, I get an error message saying "cannot decode raw data"

    While I am at school, I can connect to the wifi, however I can only access google, and the apple website. When I try and google something to work on a project, I get a messgae that says "Cannot Decode Raw Data" it is getting rather annoying, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. The only time I have gotten this message is while at my school, it has worked before but only started this recently.
    Is there a quick fix for this? Is it something caused by the wifi at school?
    Thanks in advance.

    I've just an Apple TV set it all up but when I play netflix the sound is really crackling. I can't hear anything else but the crackle. I can see the movie fine..

    I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

  • NullPointerException when connection to my WebServer get lost!

    I have write a simple web server which implements HTTP/1.1 based on David Brown's A Simple, Multithreaded Web Server: http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Networking/Webserver/
    Since the web server implement HTTP/1.1, the connection will be a persistent connection. When the server send the response to the client, it will wait for a while(a timeout period) to close the socket. socket.setSoTimeout(WebServer.timeout) will setup the timeout period and throw a exception when times out. I use:
    try{
    }catch(InterruptedIOException e){
    inFromClient.close();
    outToClient.close();
    s.close();
    to catch the read time out and then close
    BufferedReader(inFromClient), DataOutputStream (outToClient) and Socket(socket).
    So now run the webserver, when there is no more request from the client, the server will idle for a while until the timeout happens. However at this right moment a NullPointerException was throwed. And it keeps pumping out this exception. Could anyone help me? Thanks ahead.

    Manuel,
    Thanks so much for your information. The runtime message I got is:

    You might be right when talking about that not initialised some variables correctly. Could you help me more about this problem.

  • Macbook Pro & Thunderbolt go black when connected. Can't get a picture on either.

    I have a 15" Macbook Pro Retina and I've never had a problem with it. I just got a Thunderbolt Display the other day and when I plug the MB into the T-bolt, both screens go black. I know it's connected, because I can hear sound coming from the T-bolt when I adjust volume, but I can't get any picture. Additionally, when I disconnect the MB from the T-bolt my screen is still black and I have to do 3-4 hard resets before the screen goes back on again. Any ideas what's wrong?

    Have you read for possible solutions over in the "More Like This" thread over here?----------------------->
    Read the tv user manual.  I have a Toshiba which has detailed instructions for tv to comp hookup.  If necessary call Toshiba.  Especially, if you are still under warranty w/them.
