When converting a document on Pages to PDF, is there a way to shrink the size of the PDF document?

When exporting you are given 3 options:
Good, Better, Best
But I am guessing you are asking something else, just haven't said so.

If you want to edit a word document then you will need an app on your iPad that supports word so that you can copy them to it via 'open in' e.g. Apple's Pages app or a third-party app such as Documents To Go or QuickOffice HD

I just spent hours on my cv only to find that I have somehow saved over it with a blank sheet. So now the document named CV in my documents is actually blank. Is there a way of recovering passed versions of a saves document??

Open the CV in the version of Pages that you created it. Choose File > Revert To ... and see if you can go back in time to the CV without the blank page.

When I reload a page(or window) is there a way to automatically go back to the previous "window section" (not the upper left corner)?

I use the "reload every" add-on. It works great. The problem I am trying to solve is to keep from having to scroll down and slide right after every reload to get to the position I was in previously. In my case it is a chart of stocks on the move that I am reloading often, which is located in the middle of a page.
Is there another add-on that will solve my problem?

If that section has an ID or NAME attribute then you can add that to the URL (#anchor) that you want to reload.

Improving the handling of multiple line text fields is in our plans, but for now, you will have to add manual carriage returns (Enter).

Use only formatting that is supported (in the same manner) in both applications. You'll need to find which that is through trial and error. Beyond those formatting options, you'll need to do some corrections, as Fruhulda suggests.

WHen I want to reduce the file size, I either use "Optimize Scanned PDF", or more often use "Reduce File Size". Both are on the Document menu. The Reduce File Size selection has some limited customization that is used, when selected.

Hi everybody, i have a random problem when i save PDF from illustrator (CS6 o CC, the same): if i open a saved PDF in illustrator is correct both the size of the page that the content. if I open it in Acrobat I see the size of the page different or the content cut, does someone know how can i solve it? The biggest problem is not only th visualization, but when i use this PDF in my Kodak workflow i obtain proof prin cutted so bad!!!!!

Pages 09 document files are 4 x the size of the same doc saved in Word?

I noticed that if I save a document in Pages 09 native format, it is about 4 times the size as the same document saved as a Word document. None of the documents that I'm working on have graphics, fancy backgrounds or mixed fonts. They are simple one page business letters.
Any thoughts on this a greatly appreciated.

I have had concerns about this very same issue. I noticed that a 1 page document of plain text in Pages 09 took up 128KB of space, whereas if I saved the same document to Word 2004 it was 24KB. However it is in fact true that the larger the document the more efficient it is. A 2 page text document in Pages 09 was 168KB. If I add my 1 page document to the end of my 2 page document, the total size of the new document in Pages 09 is 200KB.
Here's the kicker: I had a 32-page Word 2004 document (plain text) that occupied 220KB of disk space. When I opened it in Pages and saved it as a Pages 09 doc, it was 160KB, which obviously is smaller than the Word doc, but also is smaller than the 2 page document I created with Pages 09! Obviously Pages is more efficient than Word with large documents, but a lot less efficient with small documents.
The problem is, many of us write a lot of small documents-- notes, letters, etc. I am concerned that my laptop's hard disk space (only 120 GB total) will get used up a lot quicker with Pages than with Word. This makes me very reluctant to use Pages on a regular basis.
(I can anticipate the response: Get a big hard drive and quit complaining! But still...).

I would like to find out how to change the size of the document body within Pages.
I encountered this problem when selecting Business Resume from the templates section and after removing the left text box I could not move the main text body to the left, although document margins where set to 0.
As you can see in the photo the section that says Profile can not be moved to left more than it already is.

Several of the Pages 5.5.2 templates are buggy, you have found one of them.
Create a template from scratch using the Blank tempalte.

Thank You. This helps me alot to get into the masters and to see events and photos in a utilitarian way, but it is not as easy as viewing the normal iphoto format to find photos. Can I do something else or did I not do something right to not see normal iphoto in Time Machine ?

What do you mean by "uploading in Acrobat"?
(Note that if you change the size of text, it won't reflow, so you end up with a mess. Answer is, probably not useful)
