First, make sure caps lock is not on.
Another reason why your password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. At the login screen, you can cycle through the available layouts by pressing the key combination command-space or command-option-space. See this support article.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.

Windows 7 64bitI see, I misread your reference to Reader 11 to mean you were using Acrobat 11, but it looks like it worked out anyway.
The base-14 fonts are special in PDF because they are guaranteed to be available even if they are not embedded. If you select a non-base-14 font for use with a form field, the entire font usually gets embedded, since each glyph it contains has to be available for use with the field. This can take up a lot of space if you do this a lot, and the space isn't reduced if you change back to a base-14 font later because the internal reference to it is not removed. This is caused by the bug I mentioned.
In your case, however, the entire font doesn't get embedded because fonts like it (e.g., large asian fonts with a lot of glyphs, Arial Unicode) would take up too much space if fully embedded. If it did, a 100KB PDF could bloat to 20MB with that one change. Instead, users are expected to have such fonts installed on their system, which is why you were prompted to install the font pack. This despite the fact that the font was not actually used by anything in your document, it was simply the orphaned reference to it that triggered this. This should get fixed in Acrobat eventually so this type of thing doesn't happen again. -
Can't login to HP Connected--get "Invalid Email or Password"
When I try to login to HP Connected, I get "Invalid Email and Password". The email and password I'm using works fine in Snapfish. I tried modifying the password in Snapfish, hoping that would reset the password in HP Connected, but I'm still getting the same message there. How can I get into my HP Connected account? Thanks

Occasionally when filling in forms in Safari 5.1.2 certain keys on the keyboard don"t work. When I use the coma it opens up another tab. I've used other browsers to fill in the forms and they work fine so my keyboard is OK.

The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account, or is system-wide. Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select “Help” from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Any application you run will behave as if you were running it for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
As Guest, launch the application(s) and test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it. -

I am a new Mac user on a mac book pro I7 I am trying to migrate my information from my PC so I can keep my Ipad and Mac Book pro synced. Secondly I am trying to get my Exchange server email to work. I have lost both settings password, and user name to my mobile me account when My first ipad was donated to charity. I never set it up on the second ipad. Any help would be appreciated.

Incoming mail server is incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and outgoing server is outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net. I changed the 110 port to 25, and turned off SSL.
Why did you change that port? Incoming is 110, outgoing is 25.
Every time I try to send or receive mail, I get a pop-up box asking for a password. I give it my Verizon password, then mail fails. If anyone has experience with Verizon email, please tell me what I am doing wrong. I have been trying to get the email to work for several hours now.
Check the Verizon site for examples. They will have more than webmail. You don't have to look for anything specific to Apple Mail. There will be settings for Outlook, just use those. -

There is something wrong in your settings. As the settings for each email provider are different you need to check your email server's web site for instructions. Most now have specific instructions for the iPhone. Also see Apple's instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1385

Sounds like you are losing your internet connection.
From the Mail menu bar (top of your screen) click Window > Connection Doctor
Following is from the Mac Mail Help viewer...
Review the status information:
Check your Internet connection status. A red status button indicates Mail can’t connect to the Internet. Click Network Diagnostics to help track down the problem and restore an Internet connection.
Check your account status. A red status button (when you are connected to the Internet) indicates a problem with a mail server or your account setup. Follow the instructions in the Details column; double-click the text in the column to open the Accounts pane in Mail preferences.
To see log information about server connection problems, click Show Detail to display a details pane. Then click Check Again to see the log as Mail tries to connect again.
When you’re done, click Check Again to see if your changes resolved the problem. -

I had my hard drive replaced and I cant get my email to work on the new hard drive. I have the ! in the triangle next to the inbox. I tried "take all accounts online" and it ddidnt work. The email account is working on my iphone and ipad, and my macBook is connected to the internet.
Cant get help with this issue on Apple Support, so I have to go to the Apple store to the Genius Bar to get assistance. All the help issues are so technical in their jargon, that I cannot understand how to fix the issue.
