    Hi,
Some "movies' are actually Flash files.
This means the Flash App will play them (possibly in a browser in some cases).

A web page can include javascript.
Apple uses javascript here to help with creating the posting box, the Edit options, Adding pics/smilies and the like.
Sometimes the javascript can be what is called a runaway process and gets sort of stuck in an endless loop.
If it is a free standing item then it might be triggered by AppleScript on the Mac. (or be modified in some way)
Again if the Script (normally written with a upper case S) is not perfect it can cause problems.

  • PDF error A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly.

When opening a PDF of a website using Acrobat 9.0 Professional, I am recieiving the following notification.
A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly.  If it continues to run, you computer may become unresponsive.  Do you want to abort the script?
The error does not occur when viewing the live website from which the PDF was made.
I recieve the same error when trying to open the PDF on other PCs using Adobe Reader 9.
I have updated the flash player on each of the PCs as well.
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or insight regarding why I am recieving this notification.
    Thank you

I'm suddenly getting the same error message, on a variety of web sites.  I'm running Windows Vista on a fairly high-end desktop, and I haven't added any new software lately.  This just started up out of nowhere.  When searching for this error message on the web, people are asking this same question all over the place, and no one has an answer.  Does Adobe ever monitor these forums?

  • "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues ...

I'm continually getting a "movie script error" in regards to
a looping interactive. The following message: "A script in this
movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it
continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you
wish to abort the script?" frustratingly comes up despite numerous
startups and taking off information from the server. It seemed to
occur slightly after uploading some content to the admin server
which delivers the info to flash upon rebooting. However this last
time it just cycles through a small portion frantically. How do I
find out where the problem is and fix it?
    any clues?
    thanks in advance, Patrick

Hi Patrick and welcome to our community
What product are you using? This is the forum for Adobe
RoboHelp. Your post seems to imply that you are using a Flash
output of some type. Is it FlashHelp? Or are you possibly dealing
with Adobe Captivate? Or maybe Flash itself?
    Cheers... Rick

  • Receive error: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly..." Firefox problem? Adobe problem? Malware?

While browsing a variety of site, while running no movies at all, I receive the following message:"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" I click "ok", error message disappears. minutes later, error message re-appears.
I've removed Adobe Flash, cleaned registry, rebooted, all to no avail.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly."

I'm so sick of this crap.
Clicking "no" does nothing, it just comes right back in a couple seconds. Clicking yes locks up my whole browsers. And either way I have to
shut the whole computer off and restart it. I am getting this on everything: facebook,
myspace, ebay, imdb, youtube and tons of other sites. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. I am getting surfer rage from this and I've had it. I have been forced to
completely remove flash player all together and am now unable to watch or listen to pretty much anything because of this. Then the fact this website is slow as hell and takes me 30 minutes to just be able to post this, doesn't help my mood. You people need to get off your lazy ***** and fix this B.S.

This seems to be a problem for everyone. A
ny new downloads to fix this issue?
    Thanks,

  • Flash error in Safari: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash P..."

When using the BBC iPlayer to watch movies in Safari they freeze after 8 seconds (although the sound continues). After a few more seconds an error message pops up that says "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? Yes/No". If I click "Yes" the movie will jump frames until it catches up with the sound and then play normally, although a lot of functionality will be lost in the player (pausing, time elapsed etc.). If I click "No" the browser will crash.
I originally had Flash Player 10 running, which gave me the same problem. I uninstalled it, fixed permissions, installed Flash Player 9 and fixed permissions again. There is no difference.
The same problem exists in Firefox, so I believe it to be a Flash problem rather than Safari but the Adobe site is no help and the forums there have a lot of people with the same problem but no solutions. So I'm hoping that someone here might have an idea...

    Klaus1:
You also asked if I had installed the latest update to iPlayer. I assume that you mean the Desktop iPlayer, but this is a whole different issue! When I first tried to download the movie using Desktop iPlayer I was presented with a button to install it. This surprised me as it was already installed, but maybe it was really just offering an update. As it wasn't optional, I clicked the button. It then tried to install AdobeAIR (which was already installed) and failed as it couldn't get permission to write to the disk.
I thought I'd make things simple and uninstalled AdobeAIR and Desktop iPlayer. I then tried to reinstall. Again it tried to install AdobeAIR and failed. So I tried downloading and installing AdobeAIR direct from Adobe. The installer loads into the dock but that's it. I've spent many hours trying to resolve this without success.
Hence I'm just trying to use the browser version of iPlayer.
I thought I'd get the Flash Player thing resolved first and then start another thread about AdobeAIR! I thought Adobe products were solid but I'm now seeing lot's of differing opinions on that.

  • A script in this movie is making Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly

How do I fix this? A script in this movie is making Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly, this is my problem when watching ABC tv shows.  I've got a 13" Macbook Pro i7 with 8g of Ram.  What do you all think is the problem

I get this message which I interpret as saying what it means, the streaming/scripting is to slow to operate that site.
In my case I was gaming(poker) I stopped for a meal and parked at the home page of the site (Skypoker) I went to rejoin a table and got the error.  When I picked YES the screen went into some sort rapid fast loop, when I picked NO it dumped me out completely from the entire site and closed it.   Now I have used this site with no problems at all, I contacted Sky support and he suggested delect temp files, history and reboot--did this no good.  I decided to do a complete scan just in case, no better.  I then decided to RESTORE by a couple of days, this worked but only the once, when I again left and tried to go back same problem.
What mystifies me is nothing altered or changed on the pc or on the site (they asked me to make sure I had version 10 Adobe Flash).  So I decided do download again which I did but had no effect.  Clearly i can't keep on doing restore but why the problem have suddenly arose is still baffeling.   1. why bother with such an error warning if there is no solution or choice of causes to go through to investigate and or fix. 2. If speed is an issue at this point why doesn't the error quantify the problem or Adobe give us a device to measure the errant data stream instead of leaving us high and dry with an effect, probable reason but no supporting data.
Sky appear stumped but obviously they are using Adobe on a commecial footing, I have asked them if they will seek support as so far there seems to be a don't care can't be bothered from Adobe, very disappointing

  • A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player to run slowly

    Hello,
I am creating a Flash application with Flash 8 and testing it
in FP8. The application hanldes a lot of XML data and it is about
sending and receiving a lot of http messages or socket messages
(SocketXML). All of these data do not exceed 5-10 KB in size.
When testing the application from the Flash IDE or debugging
    it, there is no problem.
On the other hand, when I try to play the .swf or the .exe
file, the application hangs when I try to load a new movie into my
    screen.
Why this problem doesn't arise when testing in Flash IDE? Can
we make any assumption out of this?
Any help would really appreciated as the deadline for the
    project is on Wednesday.
    Thank you

Well I think that I found something.
There is a main movie in which many external movies are
loaded (once at a time). The player was hanging when the user was
pressing the button to load the external .swf.
After many trials and erros I figured out that probably what
stops player from responding is the combo box the external movies
have. I have to mention that I'm using skinned combos. But I tried
to delete the skinned files and drop a new standard combo into
these external movies. In both situations I was getting the pop
    message about "...running slowly..."
On the other hand, when I deleted completeley the combo box
and any skinned movie clips everything was ok.
So, is this is a bug? Is there any hack?
