When I am trying to schedule a job in Discoverer Enterprise

Question

It says Database Error ORA-04068: Existing state of packages has been discarded ORA-04063: Package Body:'TKDBA.ELU5_Batch_User has Errors ORA-06508: PL/SQL: Could not find Program Unit ORA-06512: at Line 2.
What is that Popup?? Never seen it before... anyone knows what we can do. I am using
Desktop Client Version 10.1.2
End User Layer Library: 10.1.2.45.46c
End User Layer: 5.1.1.0.0.0
Oracle Enterprise 8i Enterprise 8.1.7.1.0 Production
Do I need to install something that is missing then?

Hi Phillip,
One reason this error can occur is if the user trying to schedule the workbook does not have access to sys.v_$parameter.
1. connect to the database as user sys, and execute the following:
grant select on sys.v_$parameter to <discoverer_user>
2. Compile eul5_batch_user package by connecting to SQLPLUS connect to the database as the eul owner, and execute the following:
ALTER PACKAGE eul5_batch_user COMPILE PACKAGE;
show errors;
select object_name,object_type,status from user_objects where status like 'INVALID';
3. If you still have an issue you may need to re-run batchusr.sql or batchusr_app.sql if you are using an applications mode EUL
