When i attach workflow to document library, the custom columns data is not saving.
Hi, i had created SharePoint designer workflow (send Email) for Document Library.
I had created Custom columns like.
"Employee Name" of type Person or Group
"Resume Type" of type Choice
When i attach my workflow to document library, the columns data is not saved.
It is just uploading resume, and sends email to the user groups, but data is not saved for custom columns. !.e "Employee Name" and "Resume Type".
Any help will be appreciated.
In SharePoint Document Library, first the document will be uploaded and then the metadata will be updated. So, in your workflow settings, select start workflow when item is changed instead of item is created and then try.

Copy the control to a new VI as before, and change it into a control.
Create the diagram shown in the attached screen shot.
Run the new VI. You will get two arrays: one of x-axis values and one of y-axis values.

Re-attaching old workflow to document library
Hello,
I've recently switched my sharepoint site to a new work environment (different DNS), but my custom workflows that were associated to my document libraries are no longer "attached" anymore. They still exist in the site itself, but they can not be
associated to any list or library. Unfortunately, they are not reusable workflows due to having specific content that related to each library and their columns, so that option is out the window. Is there a way to reattach them to a library/list if the workflow
is already created? Any help would be great.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to re-attaching old workflow to document library.
To migrate list while keeping workflow associations, you can save a site as a template and "include content”.

Workflow in document library doesn't function properly on uploaded documents
I have a document library with a few different content types. When documents are added to the library either via new or upload I want to run a workflow that numbers the documents (so contracts have a contract number & change orders have an order number).
The counters are in a separate list - one item for each counter, a last number and a calculated next number.
So for contract numbers the workflow gets the nextnumber for the counter and enters it into the contract number field of the current item before sending it back to the counter as last number.
The workflow is set to start on item creation and works just fine with new documents. However, it doesn't work on uploaded documents. In order to discern between the different content types I've set a field condition to recognize if the workflow should run.
When uploading documents the workflow runs before the field is set and therefore doesn't set the contract number.
I tried just setting a 5 min "wait" at the start of the workflow, but then the document fails to save.

According to your post, my understanding is that you had a workflow in document library didn’t work properly.
I hadcreated a list called Counter1, created a library called
New&Upload, modified the view of the list, made it display the
ID of the list.
I created a simple workflow as below, selected “Start workflow automatically when an item is created”, it worked well without any issue no matter
Upload or New a document.
You can create a new workflow with a new library, then check whether it works.
You can also check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS

i have scenario that i need to run the workflow on document library it do have taxonomy and other fields before document is uploaded
(1)one of the field is number unique index value once any user type the unique value which is already in that field it will not allow to fill with that field but if we change the unique number to another value workflow will be stuck in the starting
workflow will run fine if this unique valditation does not happend
(2)i have one of the metadata field showing status of document as pending or closed i am running reminder workflow for pending document once i update the the field to closed the workflow is already running in progress to remind for the next due
date but if i update the status to closed workflow will not be updated the status i want the workflow to be updated since the status is closed
(3)also if the document is checkout how can i handle the workflow running on the document

Why did you want to migrate out of box workflow?
OOTB workflows will be provided by the default sharepoint features, you can use them after activating the corresponding site collection features.
If you want to migrate lists with its workflows, i think you just need to check include content when you migrate the lists.

Having been gently chided by "How to write a good question," I offer additional information as a preamble to my question.
I am writing about Preview 7.0 (826.4) on Mavericks 10.9.4; my computer is a MacBook Pro, late 2011 model with not modifications.
I used Preview to fill in a .pdf form and saved it. To check, I re-opened the form and saw all the info I had filled in. However, when I attached it to an email, the info was not there; the form contained none of the info I had added. I re-did the form several times, but the results were the same when I attached it to email. What's going on?
Here's a secondary matter. When I filled in the form, the print was red and the type too large. Though I went into fonts, etc. and selected a type size and color black, the info I added was still red and the wrong size. Again, how do I manage color, size, and font?Form document will automatically be saved after closing the file. As far as cloud message is concerned, it seems your Mobile link setting has been turned on. When you pressed device back button after filling the form, it was saved to your Acrobat.com account. You can access this document by going to Acrobat.com tab present in left pane. Its a cloud storage area where you can upload/save any document.

When importing from a Word document placing the text in InDesign
When importing from a Word document placing the text in InDesign I can only see the text from the first page of the Word document. I have increased the number of pages in the Indesign document to more than what is in the Word document, still only text from the first page is shown. What am I doing wrong or did I not set a setting correctly?
When you want to auto flow text while placing, hold down the Shift key when clicking with the Place cursor on the first page. New pages will be generated and text will be auto flowed using the margins set up on the master page.

Sounds like the Word file may have right justification. You can turn that off within Word.

Creating a field or workflow that responds to the Current System Date.
In our activities/tasks we have a field that is the Expected Completion Date or Required Completion Date. Based on that date, and the current date, I want a workflow to trigger when the required completion date is less than 30 days away, sending daily reminders to the owner/manager that they have a activity/task due.
The way I see it I have two options.
1. Customize a field to be the system date. Create a workflow that says every time that field changes, and the date is within 30 days of required completion date, send out an email.
2. Create a workflow that somehow incorporates the current/system date, and do the same thing as above, substituting the field with the actual date.
I don't know how to make either of those options happen. Does anyone either have other options or advice on how to make this work?

Here is an idea that could be done:
You could create a dynamic step by having a step that holds all the properties for both configurations (the superset of the necessary variables) and an extra one that indicates which 'mode' the step is in. Then you create the main Edit substep in whichever language you desire. That substep window will then have a box/dropdown/etc. at the top you can use to choose between modes A & B. When the user changes the value, you would dynamically change the rest of the window to contain the appropriate properties for mode A or B. You then copy the property values in that window to the Step properties, and copy the mode to your variable and you can run the step in that mode. When the step then runs, it checks the mode variable, and depending on its value, it will run the step in mode A or B.
Now we could add a dialog that allows us to choose when we put a step down but we should still allow the user to change later via the Edit substep we create.
I don't think we can create something that inserts a completely different step, but we can have one step that has the ability to do both and we can pick which one we execute. Also note we still don't have the ability to edit the Panels for a step, so we have to use a new window that we call from our Edit substep to complete the step.
