When you move or copy the compound clips with their events into an external drive all the events should be there. Not clear on why you want to move them into a single event. You can drag and drop from one event to another.
Why are you using compound clips? You can simply copy the project from each machine with used media onto the external drive and that should do it.

Aperture crashes when I try to create a new project
Hello all, having an odd problem with Aperture crashing when I try to create a new project.
I suspect the problem is likely related to the library file's permissions, as I was previously working with this library as another user (stopped using the account because of issues solved by too many fonts being installed).
The problem occurs when I finish naming the project and hit enter, so presumably when Aperture attempts to save the new project into the library file.
Any ideas?Ha i figured as much...

When I create a new project in iMovie and drop clips into it, it plays the first one and then quits right near the end of the second clip. I have re-started my computer, tried a new project etc, and no luck, does anyone know how to fix this issue?
This is a part of the larger MacBook Pro connectivity issue. There are several related threads dealing with the MBP's networking problems. If your unit is suffering from this type of difficulty, good luck ... (or a long ethernet cable)
(PS Everybody please make noise on this one so apple comes up with a solution.)

• Did You try to trash iMovie pref. file while iMovie is NOT running ?
• Can it be something that corrupt Your movie project e.g. use of alien video codecs or audio file formats ?
(What did You use ? Video-codecs, Audio file formats and Photo file formats ? )

Creating a new project in imovie '09
Good afternoon.
When a user creates a new project in iMovie '09 it gets put into the user's Movies folder. This is fine on a stand-alone, but with Network Home Directories it's not, because of the bandwidth needed to transfer files across our network. Is there any way for the user to decide where their new project is to be stored please?

New Zealand.I also successfully created a still frame to a new project I created for this purpose.
Move to a frame in your EVENT, control left-click and select "Add Still frame to project" from the pop-up menue. It will be added at the END of your selected project.
After that, I am still trying to find a way to save that still to iPhoto'09 as a photo. -

How much free space is there on Your MAIN Start-Up Hard disk ?
• I never let this go less than 25Gb - YES Gb
This is due to two things
• Mac OS X = UNIX
• The Application used - here iMovie
Both of them creates lot's and lot's of .temp files - You don't see them - but they need hard disk space.
And when this goes scars - all kind of bad behavior appears.

I just bought a 5g iPod touch and was wondering if there were any ihomes out or coming out soon that are compatible with this device. I know there are adapters and cables you can purchase to use with your existing ihome but read the poor reviews on them and was scared away. Help! I have an iPhone 4 and when I tap the "messages" thumbnail I'm not able to see a list of my text message threads.
I contacted Verizon (my phone's carrier) and they told me to simultaneously press the on/off button and the menu button. That rebooting fixed the problem, but will I have to do this all the time? Wonderinf if I should take the phone back to the Apple store and get a new one. I've had the phone about two weeks.

I can't synch my iPhone with iTunes because the device does not show up in a device window when I plug it in...it's missing in action and thus I'm not able to add any content from the iTunes to my iPhone, e.g. podcasts. All the instructions on synching start with "find your device in the device window". But what if you have no device window?
Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.
I thought the libraries were the same. -

Photos and PDFs can be saved in photo and PDFs in iBook.
Files can be saved through iTunes on a computer, they have to be placed in the app used to view them.

Every time I go to create a new project in the latest version of iMovie for mac OS X yosemite, I get the following information. "The operation could not be completed. No further information is available about the problem.
I have tried restarting the computer, that didn't work. I also tried also, to reinstall the app. That didn't work. I even tried updating all the software, and that still didn't work. I am very frustrated and feel the mac was not a good gift, if a major essential app will refuse to work. Nothing I do, seems to work.Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take the action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
When you post the log extract, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created. -
I have just bought the new iPad but can't see how I would sync all my iPhone photos that are stored on iCloud onto my iPad. Can someone help?
Photos on the camera roll can be included in an icloud backup from an iOS device (if camera roll is turned on). But getting the photos back from a backup is risky. Many users have performed restore operations from a backup only to discover the photos were not returned. icloud is primarily used to sync photos to other devices using photo stream - but only new photos taken after the stream is turned on in Settings>icloud will actually be synced, not old photos.
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album). You can then sync the photos to the iPad.

FCPx is repeatedly crashing when I try to create a new project.
This started a few days ago, when FCPx crashed in the midst of my work, and I was unable to open the program without the spinning wheel.
I deleted all events and projects, and re-installed the program, and now I can get it open successfully. But nwo when I open it up and try to start a new project, I get the spinning wheel. Can someone help?NICABM wrote:

Pretty extreme remedy…hope you backed up them up. Most of the time, hiding the projects from FCP should be sufficient.
