When i go to update my apps in the app store it comes up with my brothers username even though i purchased them on my account. HOW DO I FIX IT?

It say in signed in but yet it come up with my bros username he plugged my ipod in on his acoount on the computer while he was on his itunes account he then messed around with it Now it comes up with his username but i still brought them and now i cant update them on my ipod which ***** how can i fix this?

Just now you said the other Apple ID stored inside it, is that mean all my data back up in that the other ID?

Go to settings/itunes and app store. Sign out then back in with your apple ID then password!

And I have been able to change it. I have reset all the locations with the Apple ID on the phone but when I try to update my apps it still comes up withe wrong Apple ID

Apps will always have to updated using the account from which they were purchased.

Efter att ha försökt att använda annat wifi fick jag samma problem dvs. kunde fortfarande inte göra uppdatering av mina appar. Jag prövade att ta bort flera stycken av dessa men det var ingen skillnad. På resa med ytterligare ett annat wifi lyckades det helt plösligt, vet inte varför. thank u 4 yr help , i have managed to do it after all. i downloaded the iphone 3gs ios 4.2 manual and it explained everything i had to do on there ... all i had to do was put my sim into phone ,then connect usb lead and then open my i tunes , i clicked on my iphone and went into summery and straight away it synchronized my phone and yay up popped my sim card and ready to use ('',) many thanks though 4 yr help wendy

The apps you have were probably purchased/downloaded from the App Store with your ex-wife's iTunes account. Any updates to these apps will want to be downloaded using this account. You will need to redownload/repurchase these apps. In iTunes on your computer delete the app. Go to the App Store and redownload/repurchase them. Now sync your iPhone with iTunes.
Note that if you are using a new computer (no longer your ex-wife's) you may lose what is on your iPhone.
In iTunes on a computer you can check which account was used for dowloading/purchasing an app. Select the app. From the File menu choose Get Info. The account will be listed in the Summary tab.

My ipad (1st Generation) and my ipod touch will not come up in itunes when I connect them to my computer. My computer is a MAC and it is brand new with the updated system. Also, when I am connected to my wireless internet at home, my app store will open on my ipod touch, but it will not open on my ipad.
My USB ports work with other devices that I have, such as my camera, and I have tried plugging in the ipad and ipod to different USB ports on the computer, but itunes still won't recognize them. The USB cord that I use works. I know this because I use the same cord to plug into the wall charger and it charges both the ipad and ipod fine. Also, my itunes has been updated to the most recent version (I update it every time that it's an option). I HAVE noticed, though, that my ipad and ipod never ask me to update itunes on the actual devices themselves.
What can I do to solve this issue??? THANKS!

Back up first (Time machine) as much as possible.
Un-install and re install Itunes.
First and foremost download the updated iTunes from apple website. After downloading Uninstall itunes and all its component ( Dont worry, itunes library where your movies and music is located will not be deleted. Please follow instructions on the apple support page). The problem might be the AppleMobileDevice.kext

"Unknown error" when trying to get updates from App store...

Anyone else having trouble with the App store today? Trying to take in updates but get a "cannot be completed due to unknown error" huh? I've double/triple checked passwords etc, and they're free updates so I don't get it. Deleted apps and tried to re download, but no go..... Thoughts?

I'm borrowing a friend's iPod touch until I get another phone and I want to add some apps. I deleted all the apps that weren't needed and then I tried to add some of the apps that I need. I switched the Apple ID account on the iPod and the iCloud account to my own along with all the other apps (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, Skype, mail, YouTube, etc.) When i go to the Apple app store and try and update or download a new app it still asks for the old password. How do I get it so when I try and download new stuff it asks for MY password?

It is showing updates because your machine is tied to the original purchase and will remain so until you wipe the drive.
As you purchased it used and the seller obviously did not do what he was supposed to do and that is erase the hard drive and reinstall the original system, you will run in to far more difficult problems when you need to reinstall for whatever reason. The new licensing requirements are that any mac is sold with the original OS - any OS or app obtained at the app store is NOT transferable and the buyer needs to purchase their own license. That means you will not be able to reinstall the OS.
At some point, you will need to try to get either the original install disks (from the seller or Apple) and wipe your drive and reinstall. Then you can download your own licensed copy of Mavericks and any apps you want.

First quit all apps (Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up) and try a reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
Check your Restrictions:
Settings > General > Restrictions

Try deleting from here: Settings > General > Usage > iBooks > Delete App

If the app was purchased through a different iTunes Store account, you will need that user ID and password to update the app. There is no way to transfer the app to another account.

The problem is, when I first opened the app I accidentally clicked 'don't allow push notifications' this has stopped the app from working properly as when I receive a call or IM on Skype I am not notified unless I happen to be on the app at the time the call/IM isis recieved. I have tried to delete the app from my PC and my iPhone however when I went back to the app store it came up INSTALL instead of FREE. I figure that if I can install the app by clicking FREE will allow me to enable Push Notifications as other apps that have never been associated with my account always ask when I install them
