When I listen try to listen to music on my ipad it starts skipping though the whole playlist, how can I stop this?

• Press & hold both Home and Sleep/Wake until the red power-off slider appears
• Continue holding both down until that display goes away, replaced by the whilte Apple logo on a blank screen
• Let the normal boot process continue and, once up again, try your app.
(And I guess I don't have to say that all I'm doing here in paraphrasing what's in your User's Guide, do I?)

Gavin is right. You are bound to lose images in tables of docs made in previous versions. If you wish to continue using Pages 5.0 to edit docs from previous versions, you can try re-inserting your images using the following method:
1. Click on the cell you want to insert to.
2. Select CELL on the right contextual menu.
4. Click on FILL and select IMAGE FILL.
5. Click CHOOSE then select the image you need from Finder.
6. Tweak the appearance using the SCALE slider or drop down menu.

When i open safari i get 2 different desktops. When i close one it closes the other. How can i stop this from happening?

When I open safari i get 2 desktops, one with the last page i visited and the other desktop has another start up page. when i shut down one it automatically shuts down the other. This only just started happening. Any idea of how to fix it?

Which Mac OS X is installed? If you aren't sure, click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The OS X version is noted there.
And which version of Safari. From the Safari menu bar click Safar > About Safari

When receiving email (with Thunderbird for Mac), I usually get the notification bubble on the upper right. But sometimes the entire Thunderbird window comes to the front, and interrupts what I'm working on. Is there a way to stop this?

I have never heard of it happening to anyone else, so it makes any suggestion rather difficult. I don't think anyone has a clue, hence the dearth a answer in the past days

When I click on the firefox icon it doesn't start unless I then try and open something else - at which point it starts after the other program -how can I stop this?

When I try and open firefox -either from the start menu or desktop shortcut -it doesn't open unless I open another program first. Eg I click firefox and then say 'word' and then 'word' will open followed by firefox- not only is it a bit irritating but also means I get distracted(!) as I usually chose solitaire because it opens quickly.

Wouldn't open at all today until a restart - before it would restart I got an error that said firefox wasn't responding - but possibly that isn't connected as computer wasn't shut down properly the day before.

This is because the regular central Nightly channel builds is only the desktop version. The version on Nightly development channel is at 21.0a1 now actually.
You need a build that has Metro support.

When I send a text to someone, they receive it from my email address not my ph number, how can I stop this?

I recently upgraded to iOS 6 and am being told by my contacts that when I send a text they receive it from my email address (in their messaging app) and not from my phone number.
I have checked the send/receive settings in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, the phone is set to send/receive default from my phone, yet the email sends it first.
I have removed and re added the email address, but have had no luck resolving the problem.
Has anyone else had the same problem? Is there a way I can stop it without turning off iMessage?

There is another setting for "Start Conversation from", that needs to be set to phone number.

Very recently, when I click on a link sent to me in an email, Firefox opens my homepage plus a separate page for the link. Up to 3 days ago, only one window would open specifically for the link. How can I stop this?

When I open Firefox browser, as well as my homepage opening, a new tab also opens at the same time how can I stop this please?

This problem has only just started and I don't know why. When I click the Firefox icon to open the browser, my homepage tab opens and another new tab opens up alongside my homepage tab. I have checked and the are no pipe characters in my homepage addres.

I restarted Firefox in safe mode then reset it all and it has worked, thanks for the solution.

When I test the movie or upload it to the server i comes out about 60% of the full size. I do not have it scaled with the window size and I have tried everything I can think of to get it to 100%. Why should it come out smaller? I am using an iMac and CS4 professional.

When firefox starts, an "XvidSetup.exe" window pops up asking to install the file. How can I stop this?

This only happens opening FF, IE is ok. This started just a few days ago, but I cannot think of anything that triggered it.

You should check to see what your homepage has been set to or try to NOT restore the previous session. Did you try to install the xvid codec at one point? It sounds like it might be trying to load it on startup because the download url might be stored in the session history or as your homepage. Try resetting the home page to default and don't load the previous session.

Yes there have been a number of reports posted about this, it seems different people experience different results here with some finding the same as you, some finding that it won't work at all with the TV turned off and some finding that if music is sent from iTunes on the mac/pc that as long as the TV is on when the stream starts, the TV can be turned off afterwards.
My assumption here is that it depends on the TV itself, although that probably doesn't help all that much.

The problem resolved itself when I resynced the iPod with my computer. I suspect the error displayed when I tried syncing with my laptop and canceled out of it.
