When I plug my iPhone in to my computer with the usb cable that came with the phone the screen says, "Charging is not supported with this device". How can I fix this?
When I use the same cable with the wall adapter it charges just fine.
LOL My situation is the opposite. plug my iPhone 3GS with USB cable and attach to mini adaptor (or whatever the small one is called) and it does not charge. Connect the same iPhone 3GS to my MacBook, using same cable, an charging takes place for iPhone. Then, connected the iPhone to the AC power with the large Apple AC adaptor and it always charges. Seems to be the small adaptor and sometimes a third party automobile adapter.
At first I thought this might be because I was using third party USB cable, but now wonder about that since there are so many problems that others are having.
Having scoured the discussions, it appears no definitive answer has been given. Am I wrong. Maybe I never found the answer to what is happening here.
if you can help, please reply to help all of us with the issue still - June 2011.
Thanks!

Just recently my ipod nano 4th generation's battery seems to be messed up? I plug it into the charger and the ipod says it's charged, but when I take it off the charger, the screen goes black. What is going on and how can I fix it? I'm really sad because it happened so suddenly.
Yes. The battery appears to be shot and in need of a replacement. This can either be done by Apple or a third party repair company.

You can Google "iPod battery replacement" for third party service centers.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I have just rented a film through my Apple TV (2) which I cannot play. The screen says "HDCP is not supported by your HDMI connection." What am I supposed to do about this? Thanks in anticipation.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
HDCP is copy protection built into iTunes video content, the Apple TV requires all devices to be HDCP compatible before it will send HDCP content to them. In simplistic terms the Apple TV asks the TV if the signal it will send can be recorded, if it gets the right answer it will send the signal, if it doesn't receive a reply it won't.
Your problem may be one of unsupported equipment or may simply be an error. You could start by checking if your TV is HDCP compliant. If it is the problem might be cabling or another device (such as a receiver) between the Apple TV and TV, it may also just be a glitch which might be resolved by a simple restart. -

i am trying to run a CDrom on my MAC and I get the following message: bdf.classic or bdf.osx not supported anymore. How can I fix this and run my CDrom?
I don't think you can fix it. Those messages imply the programs on the CD are older ones for PowerPC Mac (discontinued in early 2006) and does not have the code a current Intel-based Mac requires.

anyone has the same issue?
Do you hear this all the time or only when a track is actually playing? My first guess would be to try a different headset and see if that does it as well.

MAC G4 desktop.
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
There is a third-party build of Firefox 4 that will run on PPC Macs using OS X 10.4, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/ -

when I plug my iPhone in to my computer, iTunes doesn't recognize it as a device. I have deleted and re-downloaded iTunes twice which seems to fix the problem temporarily but then the next time I plug my phone in, the device is not recognized.
What happens if you go to iTunes > File > Devices, do you get the option to Sync iPhone?
You could try a reinstall of iTunes. OS X Yosemite: Reinstall apps that came with your Mac -
Hello People!
I'm getting an error message when I plug my iPhone 4 into my computer. It says, "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Moblie Device Service has not been started." What does this mean? I've never had this error before. It's also giving the same message with my iPod touch. Please help!
Thanks,
DanaGalYou can easily check whether you've the Apple Mobile Device in your computer.
Right click 'My Computer' , then Manage => Services and Applications => Services. Apple Mobile Device is listed in alphabetical order. If none, it means you've not download iTunes into your computer yet. If yes, please ensure the Apple Mobile Device is in 'Started' status.

Alright, I've had this problem for a while now, and I'm at my wit's end. Hope someone can help me.
First of all, I'm running Windows 8.0 on a Lenovo, using iTunes 11.1.5, and an iPhone on iOS 7.0.6.
Problem is, when I plug my iPhone 5 into my computer, the computer recognizes the iPhone, but for some reason, iTunes doesn't realize it's there. On top of that, every time I plug in, my phone gives me the same "Trust this computer?" prompt, like it doesnt recognize the computer I told it to trust 5 seconds ago. A couple times, I got lucky and iTunes dignified me with a "An iPhone has been detected, but could not be identified properly." prompt. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mobile device driver, updating everything, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, resetting my iphone settings, but nothing works. Any ideas?iOS: Device not recognised in iTunes
