When I preview a page in a browser it looks different from my design

Hi, I'm having problems with my font and pictures not spacing correctly. They look perfectly in dreamweaver but when I publish or preview that are further apart than they're supposed to be. I need Help!

For more meaningful answers you'll need to post a URL to your test page so we can see it.
That said, DW Design View is not 100% reliable owing to different browsers, end-user settings and display sizes. Test your site in ALL major browsers (Chrome, FF, IE7, 8, Opera...) with increased/decreased text (zoom, text only).  Also test with maximized and smaller than max browser viewport.  Do this often during the design phase.
Use valid markup and CSS code. Bad code is the #1 cause of most page rendering problems.

  • When I preview a page in my browser, I only see the background

    Just recently when I try to view a page or the entire site in a browser, all I am seeing is the background of the site. All the rest is missing, same thing happens when I try and publish the site as a testsite, just the background appears. The asset panel shows everything as linked. Can anyone help me with this ?

    Hi there, as discussed earlier over email/case, it was an orphan and unclosed style tag in the "Main Master" Master page's Metadata (in Page Properties -> Metadata) that was causing the problem. Refer to the following screenshot - http://prntscr.com/331pkz.
    Please remove the following line of code from Metadata and it should work fine.
    <style type="text/css">

  • When i preview the page in the browser why is there grey padding and how do i get rid of it?

    Why doesnt the image go from edge to edge? Sorry if stupid question i am new to muse.
    Thank you.

    laity -  If you want the image to fill the space around the page content, set the Browser Fill to an image and set Fitting to Stretch to Fill. If you just want an image to span the width, create a 100% width rectangle and set its fill to an image in the same way. You can also set an image frame to be 100%.
    100% Width icon.

  • My firefox home page looks different from your tutorial

    I am trying to learn to use firefox. Sometimes the firefox home page looks different from the one in your tutorial. Fox example, now I am looking above and the "plus sign" symbol to add a new tab is not there. Please advise me. Thank you.

    You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.
    You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.
    If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
    If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.

  • Page that is uploaded to the server looks different from the preview in Dreamweaver browser

    Hi, I have a couple of questions.  Does anyone happen to know why my homepage looks different in Dreamweaver when I preview in browser then it does when I upload the page onto the server?  http://www.iewaterkeeper.org/  I see a join our mailing list button is intact when I preview in browser but is no where to be found when I view the uploaded page from the server.  Other weird things have been going on with Dreamweaver today like I wasn't able to absolute position a div tag in it's intended place and all the typography on my homepage looks very blurry in Dreamweaver but looks clearer when it's uploaded to the server.  Does anyone know what's going on?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  .... Could it be a virus?

    That's so weird because I'm looking at the code in Dreamweaver and line 181 has a closing </body>.   Here's the code straight from Dreamweaver:

  • My flash animation won't work when I preview my webiste in the browser.

    I am using Dreamweaver CS6. I have inserted a flash animation file into my website that I created in Flash. And it plays just fine in the design part of Dreamweaver. But when I Preview In Browser, it does not appear, OR it tells me i need to download the newest flash player and once ive done that, still does not work. HELP!

    +1 on that. I completely agree with you Nancy. But whats funny is most schools today have this as part of their syllabi which is a shame. I saw this high-end web technologies school whose motto is 'We shape the developers of tomorrow.' that does not have HTML5 or CSS3 as part of their Semester 1 or 2 but has Flash in 3 semesters. Whats more ironic is they're not even teaching game development (one domain where Flash may still survive) but their syllabi consists of Flash Website development! Lol!
    Like they say, What kids learn in college in their 1st year is already outdated by the time they enter their 4th year, thanks to ever-evolving technology!

  • Why when I open my raw files into lightroom, colors are different from my camera's preview?

    Ciao,
    I have a problem... maybe this can be a stupid question but anyway.. I would like to know the reason why when I open a raw image in lightroom, for a second I see the right colors/tone/contrast that i see when i look at the same images on my camera and soon after the word "Loading" I see the raw files with different colors.
    Why this happens???
    Before "Loading" and --> after
    Thank you so much

    Hey Giuseppe
    I have a similar problem but the cause may be different from yours. I shoot a Canon 6D and as far as I know no one with the 5D MKIII has my issue, but maybe you could look into it.
    Canon's Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop CC, as well as Lightroom CC, is automatically down converting my CR2 RAW files from 14 bit color depth to 8 bit color depth. This is screwing up my colors, contrast, gradients, etc quite a bit when trying to process RAW files in Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC.
    You can read my thread here:
    Banding due to automatic downconverting of RAW files to 8 bit
    You might want to check and see if your RAW files are actually being processed in 16 bit color depth. There is a possibility that they are being down converted automatically for some reason.
    The bit depth in Lightroom for RAW files is supposed to be 16 bit but when opening my files it just converts it down.
    Try downloading Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4
    Canon U.S.A. : Consumer & Home Office : EOS 5D Mark III
    Use that software to process a RAW photo and convert to a 16 bit TIFF. I know this software truly gives you a 16 bit depth image. Then compare the result side to side with what you're seeing in Lightroom.
    If you are having this issue, I have not yet found a way to process RAW CR2 files in ACR or Lightroom and maintain 16 bit depth.
    If you are batch processing to JPEGs it probably doesn't matter, but my issue is that it is down converting BEFORE exporting and thus any edits I do become much more destructive on my 8 bit image than they would if I was editing a 16 bit image. I have to be able to keep things in 16 bit up until the point they go to the printer.
    Sorry, this may not help you at all, it looks like there could just be a difference in White Balance, but I figured I'd throw my two cents out there and maybe you could see if this is actually what is happening for you, and hopefully eventually Adobe could potentially fix this bug.

  • Colors in PDF preview look different from ai file.

    Hello,
    I am having a little trouble with the pdf I created in Illustrator. See images below for explanation. It's only happening to certain text. Can someone explain what is happening, how can it be fixed, and how to prevent it from happening again?
    Thank you in advance!
    I get this as thumbnail image on my desktop and in Finder, when I click space bar to quick view, and when its preview as an attachment in an email.
    This is how it's supposed to look. This only happens when the PDF is actually opened..it goes from the above img to this.

    Not quite sure, but it's a high possibilty I am using spot colors. I pulled the color from the panetone swatch. Is there a way to turn that off? No, "INVOICE" isn't placed twice. Im currently trying to research this on the net.
    thanks for responding.

  • Font looks different from page to page - InDesign

    The font looks BOLD in page 1 but looks correct in page 2/3.  The font is exactly the same (from what I can tell).  It also seems to be a page thing, because I can drag the font to page 2/3 and it looks correct.  Drag it back to page 1 and it looks bold.

    Is there an image, or an element with an applied effect on the page that is displaying a bold font? If so, try putting the text on its own separate layer.
    As a side note, in the future you'll get quicker and more useful help on questions regarding specific problems by posting in the primary product forums. The InDesign forum can be found here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/indesign

  • How Can I Change One Page to Look Different From The Rest of My Pages?

    Hi, my website uses a CSS page with a dark background and white type. But I have one page I need to have a white background and light grey type on. I am not sure how to do this without it changing all of my site's look which I don't want to do. I only want to change one page to have a different look. How can I do this? I am new to CSS so please try to explain how I can do this in simple terms if you can. Thanks.

    There are 3 ways to use CSS.
    External style sheet: a separate physical file that contains all your site wide rules & to which your html documents are linked.
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/DW-Link-Stylesheet.shtml
    Embedded styles: page specific rules in the <head> section of code view.
    <head>
         <style type="text/css">
              page specific styles go here...
         </style>
    </head>
    Inline styles: CSS styles in the markup (mostly used for HTML emails and not on web sites).
         <p style="color:red">This paragraph has a red style.</p>
    In order of importance, inline styles override embedded styles.  Embedded styles override external styles.

  • My page design looks different in browser

    My website is table based using css styles for the text
    designed in dreamweaver mx 2004.
    On one page I have very simple a table with 2 columns, there
    is text in one and my logo in the other. Both cols are set for
    content to be vertically aligned to the top of the table and are
    perfectly aligned.
    When I look at my page online my logo is not where it should
    be at the top of the table, it drops down slightly. I am living
    with this as it does not hamper the usability of my page but I need
    to know why it's happening for future pages. I only preview in
    Safari at the moment, so I am also wondering if it's my browser, IE
    on another pc shows the logo in the wrong position. I have tried
    putting the logo in a layer with x and y co-ordinates set thinking
    this might be more definate but it's even worse, way out of line
    with the content in my table.
    ALSO
    My table is 600px deep. On my ibook and within dreamweaver,
    the whole table is visible on screen without scrolling down to see
    the last line.
    When I preview in browser, I have to scroll down to see the
    last line of content it's as though the online version has been
    vertically stretched. The last line of content also has a logo
    image in it a .png file, it didn't stretch out like this when there
    was no image in the last line.
    Any help much appreciated x

    > Any help much appreciated x
    Without seeing your page and its code, we can only guess.
    1. I'd guess that your logo is within a <p> tag, and
    the space that is
    appearing above it is due to the default top margin on the
    <p> tag.

    That's never going to be a good solution for you.

    You cannot control table heights in any way. Don't waste your
    time trying.
    Watch what happens when you preview and then make your
    browser's text
    display larger or smaller.

  • My pages are not loading at the top of the page in my browser

    When designing all of my pages, I have placed thee top of the page and header guideline at 0px. All of my master pages are 40px long. When I preview within the program, there is no problem. All of my pages start at the top of the page (scroll bar at the absolute top). When I preview the site in my browser, none of my pages are starting at the absolute top. Why could this possibly be happening? Nothing is pinned and I do not have a header (even when I moved the header guideline, I still received the same results). Please help! Thank you for your time!

    Hi,
    This is how it looks to me,
    It starts at the top, without any scrollbar. Am I missing anything. Could you please provide a screenshot how it looks at your end, after publishing.
