When I start my MAC Pro (OSX10.6.7), It always opens the Application window. How do I prevent that from happening? I just want to see the desktop
Everytime I start my MAC, the Applications window opens. How do I prevent that from happening. I just want to see the Desktop with the normal Hardrives and folders I setup on the Desktop.
Start up. Close the offending finder window. Shut down.
Now start up again.
Is it fixed?

How can I get full acess to everything m=on my MacPro??
Most things that you need to see and change are available to Admin users. Some of the unix "guts" are in hidden files.
Most of those can be accessed by using the Finder's Go menu and entering "/private" in the where to go box. This will give you access to many files in var, tmp, and etc directories, but some will still be locked, and a few are still invisible.
If you need to, you can enablle and log in as Root User. This will give you access to everything, and by accessing things you should not be accessing while the system is running, you can quickly make it so that your Mac will not work without a System re-Install. -
I am not sure this is Firefox, but I will start here. When I Google something, I am directed to what appears to be a third part website. Nothing like the site I am seeking. Example Dean Foods request takes me to the Google site with what looks normal, then I select that and get to Entrepreneur web site.
Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

If I save the file instead of open it, the file saves correctly (ie: without the added txt extension). If I attempt to open instead of save, the txt is added, resulting in the file opening as a text file instead of an eml file.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Mac Pros don't support Airplay. Only some post 2011 Macs do, MAc Pros aren't amongst them.

I am sharing a apple id acount with my family but when I synced my iphone to the computer it erased all of my imformation and put the other phone's imformation on it. I was wondering how I can prevent this from happening?
If the ringtones are on the old device just plug it in and do a transfer of purchases then they will be on the computer to sync to the new device.

When I save photos or videos from my iPhone 4S to my PC they are all sideways. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? All are taken with the phone in portrait mode.
Shot videos ONLY in landscape. For photos choose what's you like. Maybe you have to rotate photos on PC. What's your operating system?

This is not something on your end. If they send an iMessage it will arrive as an iMessage, if the send an email it will arrive as an email.
THey are sepearate services that cannot be mixed up.
Tell them to send you an email, rather than an iMessage.
If they are using the messages App it will always arrive as a Message. -
Imported analog video successfully and it is normal in the "Event" pane but when I move a clip into the "Project" pane, it enlarges it slightly and distorts it. How can I keep that from happening?

When i put in a compact flash card iphoto automaticaly comes up to import my photos. I have to exit out of iphoto to use the editing softwear that i prefer to use every time. It is very annoying. How do i prevent this from happening? I have looked in system prefereces....maybe i am over looking something, Thanks
iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> General -> Connecting Camera opens.... And select your preferred app.
You can also make the same choice in the Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) and Aperture preferences.

Settings > Messages > iMessage > Off
Settings > FaceTime > Off
Settings > iCloud > (scroll down) Delete Accout (this only unregisters and deletes it off the device)
Settings > iTunes & App stores. Tap the AppleID and sign out.
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
