When I transfer my purchases from my phone to computer, the songs show up greyed out with a circle with 2 arrows
My songs show up on my computer greyed out and won't play with some sort of refresh circle beside them
So i've found the answer to this by clicking on every menu and setting in the itunes store. It turns out some purchases in the cloud can be hidden probably as the result of an interrupted transfer/sync/backup or a network outage. To unhide purchases 'greyed out ' items , go to the Itunes store (on the PC) click on your account name and select view account. (you'll be prompted for your itunes password) once you are in scroll down to the purchase history section. there should be an option for hidden purchases. click through and click on unhide purchases, redownloadble purchases. any hidden purchases will then show up. click on unhide to reactivate and download. This may only work for purchases in the cloud.

Go back to iTunes, select the Music tab, uncheck the 'sync music; button, then hit apply.

How do you transfer voice memos from your phone to computer
Is it possible to transfer a voice memo to my computer and then convert that to text that can be printed?
Here is my problem. I study harbor seals and have always taken hand written notes that then must be typed into the computer when I get home from an observation. Is there any way I can dictate what I see to a voice memo and then have that translated to text. If there is which would do it best an iphone or ipad (I have neither, just a tracphone for an emergency).
Perhaps this is asking too much from the technology available but it would be a great help if I could do this.

Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match. Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.

Have just tried buying an album in iTunes on my iPhone 5 and the price tab is greyed out. The album is "clean" yet all the explicit albums price tabs are fine and i can purchase and download fine. Seems a bit back to front to me, any ideas what's going on?Try this previous discussion:

For example the app Ladida that records your voice and makes it into a song. I have lots of songs saved in the app from some of my baby cousins, does that get transfered with the app to iTunes so that if I ever need to sync it back to my iPad the songs will all be there??
No. App data gets stored on the device and is backed up when you backup the device. If the app doesn't provide a way to save the data via say the File Sharing system, or email, then you need to keep the app on the device. If you remove the app any data associated with it will be deleted from the device, and at the next backup it will also be removed from the backup set.

My computer crashed and I lost all of my music. I have music still on my Ipod touch but a lot of it was originally burned from CD's onto my computer. Is there any way to transfer this music back to a new computer or will I need to re-burn each individual CD again to get this onto the new computer?

Downloaded from "clean" cd from store but some songs only play partway even though total time shows.
Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks only from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If you don't see them straight away it may help to restart iTunes. While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

How do I stop automatic transfer of purchases from Apple tv to computer?
I bought the 160 gig Apple tv so I could spare my macbook from iTunes content (The MB has a small harddrive). I unchecked the "sync TV show" option in iTunes (under the Apple tv). The problem is that my Apple tv keeps transferring my purchases back to my computer. The 80 gig macbook harddrive is not comfortable with the size of those shows.
How can you turn that opion off?I have a very similar problem in that purchases I make on the ATV are shuttled off to my computer even before I have a chance to watch them. Nothing remains on the AppleTV except (strangely) a show I bought from iTunes months before I ever got the ATV. In order to watch anything, I have to either leave my computer turned off between the time I order and watch it; or I have to have my computer on in order to stream the show back to the ATV. I like the idea of syncing with the computer as a backup solution, but the ATV should be designed to prefer to keep unwatched material on its hard drive until some threshold storage level has been reached, and then it should move off older shows to make room for newer ones.

I have this happen with my Fujifilm RAWs (which are in RAF file format) in Windows 8.1 with the latest updates and they still won't show thumbnails. I think there's at least a couple of file browser utilities available that help in that regard, but since Adobe Bridge has out-of-the-box support I use that as my file browser anyway. -
Can someone help with an iTunes syncing to Nano iPod problem?
The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

I've imported 3 cd's to my iTunes, but they continue to be "grey-ed out" with a dotted grey circle in front of them. The music will not sync to my iPhone. How do I get iTunes to recognize them so that they will sync?

In the Gen 4 they offer "Settings" then "Reset Settings" Then it asks, "Do you want to reset your iPod?" I click on "reset" but then nothing resets. :-( This is what makes me think it might be locked or something....
