When i try to delete a safari home page shortcut there is no favorites option when i tap the book icon. why?

I want to delete safari home page shortcuts. Previous answers to this question indicate that i should tap the book icon>select favorites>then tap edit.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. When i touch the book icon nothing happens

When I touch the book icon nothing happens. When I go on itunes I see the books I've downloaded but cant access them on my ipod touch. Please help!

Delete iBook from iPod Touch (press on it a bit longer til it wiggles then press the X to delete).
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears)
In iTunes under Apps click Check for Updates.
Sync with iTunes again to restore iBooks.

Im having the same problem. I just got the itouch 4g this past sunday and everything was working great. Yesterday and today the camera went black out of nowhere and its black right now. I can delete history in safari but when i tap the Google icon on home page, it doesn't work

I have Safari on the Home screen and it opens to Google. I never use that icon. There is also a separate Google icon. I want to delete all history and cookies from Google. I found instruction online for how to delete history from Safari which i did successfully. But when i touch the Google icon on Home screen, the history still is there. I just don't know what to do. There must be a way. btw, i don't know why i have both Safari and Google. I might have added Google when i got the iPod or perhaps somone else did. i'm not sure it was there when i bought it.
I really need to delete the history. There must be someone out there who can tell me... and I would truly appreciate getting a solution. Thanks loads!!!

I retraced my steps to how i got the Google app:
App Store icon on Home Screen > Search, at bottom > entered Google
The first Google App on the screen appears:
Google logo small g in blue square: Google Search; Open (because it is already installed). Below that is a picture of the iPod with the usual Google Search screen. I have never inserted a link into a discussion group so i hope you can open this.

You have to define each account you want to access. Go into settings, the email part, and add accounts. You need to know whether each one is an IMAP or POP account. Enter the incoming and outgoing server addresses, your account and password. Etc.

Yes, it does. It stopped working one other time, I deleted and reinstalled, and it worked fine. Then it stopped again but this time I couldn'g get voice recognition.

Ok I figured it out myself But for anyone else with the same problem I tried re-setting my network settings and that did the trick. I should have thought of that!

Ok let's try the simple things first, take it through a power cycle, power off after a minute or two, power on. Hold the power/sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to power off. Then hold the power/sleep button until it powers back up.
If that doesn't help, try a reset, holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts (ignore the red slider in this case).
If that doesn't work we can work through deleting and reentering the email account information.

When I try to send a Safari web page via Mail, Mail locks up!

No matter how I try to Email a Safari web page (using the share arrow icon or the mail icon or the File menu), Mail locks up. Then I have to Force Quit Mail and send the report to Apple. There must be a bug somewhere, but I can't figure out where! I have closed and restarted Safari, closed and restarted Mail, restarted my Mac Pro - all to no avail. I have every update installed - and, in fact, the latest update to Mountain Lion is the culprit, as I didn't have this problem before I installed it! Is it possible to uninstall this latest update? When I open Safari, it goes to the home page, but there is no toolbar forSafari, the home page is in the middle of an all white window, how may I get the tool bar back.

Sounds like you are in Full screen mode. Run your cursor to the top of the page and click on the blue arrows on the right hand side.
