The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Other than that, what version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later try
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I rented a movie on my iPad. It downloaded fine but would only play 36 minutes, 5 seconds worth of the movie; although the time kept running for the length of the movie. Can this be fixed or do I need to get a refund?
You can try a rest:
Reset iPad: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If that does work, contact iTunes and request a redownload. You can ask for a refund though. -
Using firefox 14.0.1. Loading a link using right-click and "Open Link In New Window", results in new window opening but address bar does not show URL. However, if I right click on a link and select "Open Link In New Tab", the Tab shows URL in address bar. So it's working when it's a New Tab but not a New Window.

What do you mean by waiting voicemails? It tells you a number that includes missing calls new calls voicemail too. If its red circle under messages or the phone it means something is new.

This article is vague and unhelpful. My iTunes needs help from a pro.
I have over 120,000 songs -- NO movies, TV, radio, or books...
I have other programs which efficiently run things which are not audio-based.
So why can I not get iTunes working well?? It now takes at least 10 secs for any operation to be completed!

Brigancook, is the library database on the external or just the media? iTunes reevaluates smart playlists and rewrites its database after every action on the library. I've found this can make a library half that size, with a lot of smart playlists, quite sluggish. That said I'm aware part of my problem is aging hardware. Having the database on the internal drive may improve performance if it is currently on the external.
I'd expect to see an exponential relationship between size and response time which may explain what you see. Cutting down on the number of smart playlists might help. If we're really lucky the long awaited iTunes 11 might have streamlined some of the background processes as well as cleaning up the front end.

I have an Iphone5s and use Verizon. Frequently when I am on a call, it sounds as if there is an incoming call but it does not show up in call waiting or in missed calls. When I went to check on line, the fix involved a screen that I did not even have on my phone. Anyone else have this problem and is there a solution? I can't seem to get tech support at Verizon. Boo.

Thanks for the additional details! Let's get this issue resolved. What software version is the device on? Please reset the Network Settings on the device. Go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings. Please Note: Audio alerts may also indicate delivery of incoming text messages or emails. The tone will vary based on the type of information being delivered to the device. Tones may also indicate low battery charge or inadequate signal strength. Keep me posted with results.

Mail does not show the viewer window even when new viewer window is cliced. I tried to close mail and reopen, but it will not close, and force quit option does not appear in window bar. I tried to shut down the computer and reboot, but it cannot close because of open mail program it says. Help!

iphone 4s is disabled. It says connect to itunes. Itunes ays could not connect because phone is locked with a passcode and to enter passcode on iphone before it can be used with itunes, but I can't enter the passcode because 1) don't know it 2) it's disabled. The device also does not show up in itunes, so how can I restore the phone or unlock it?

As i found out lately the harddrives i had plugt in to the mac are even not shown on other macs.I don't know what you mean by "doing new concessions on DHCP"!!??? Have you tried using a static IP address to see if it works that way? Have you restricted the range of DHCP addresses available at your router? If you have maybe the other computers have used up the available range. Suggest you try a static IP address first, then we'll take it from there.

There was a plugin that was afoul. The Xerox Accounting plugin was causing my print option not to respond along with the other buttons in the print window. I removed it from the plugin folder and now I can print. I'm glad that's all it was.

IMovie 11: Viewer does not show clips in project. How do I fix this?
The viewer in iMovie 11 shows the clips in the Event section, but not in the Project section. Is there any way to fix this problem? I cannot make any videos without being able to view the clips that I want to edit in the project section.

Unable to transfer photos (jpeg) from desktop to SD card for Cannon Power shot camera.
Appears as if successful, jpegs show up in SD card window, but they do not show up when I put SD card in camera.
Go through entire process to no avail. SD card is not locked.

Pictures on SD card, SanDisc-SDHC, 4GB Card, are jpeg. The ones I would like to put on the card are jpeg as well.
SD format MS-DOS (FAT32) .

I have
Exported the pics from iPhoto to the desktop. Inserted sd card into side of iMac. The icon of card popped up.
Attempts to no avail:
1) Dragged the photos to the disk icon for the sd card.
2) Dragged pictures into the DCIM folder (where all photos taken on camera resided).
3) Created new folder. Put photos from desktop into folder and dragged ne folder inside DCIM -since pictures taken at different times had their own folders inside the DCIM folder.
Every time the photos/files end up showing up on the sd card as long as it is in my computer but when ejected and inserted into my camera, all imported photos/jpeg file are gone.

I just tried to install iLife '11 on my MacBook I purchased in January, 2011. Now, iPhoto '11, which was installed into the computer when I bought it, will not open. Instead, it gives an error message: "You can't open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete." On top of that, I cannot locate iLife '11 that I installed into the computer in the applications folder. I'm sure I installed the program because it told me installation was complete. I restarted the computer and am still having the same problems. Thanks for any help.
iLife 11 is not an application. It's a suite of applications of which iPhoto 9 is one. Did you purchase the boxed version of iLife 11? If you did then you'll need to reinsatll iPhoto from the iLife 11 disk. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,
