When I try to rent a movie, it asks my password and it does not match, and I have to go to my computer
How can I make Apple TV recognize my password? Everytime I rent a movie I´m asked for my password and it tells me my password cannot be found, that I must go to Apple page to reset or change it. This happens when I´m watching TV and the lights go out. What can I do?
iTunes has many stores, in different regions. If you are trying to rent from a different location that would explain the error.

When I try to rent a movie on my Apple TV it states that the purchase could not be completed. My password is correct and location, user id, and other settings are correct. What is the problem?

I recently moved and had to disconnect my WD My Pro Edition II 2TB external drive I had been using for backup.
Its been several months (many upgrades to the iMac software during this time), and now when I try to reconnect the external dire (Use a firewire cable) it does not recognize the drive is there. I also tried "reloading" software from the Western Digital site, but after following all the instructions, it looks like my iMac doesn't support this software (I can't even locate it after I follow all the instructions.
Thnaks, for anyones ideas on how I can get this working again.....First of all, you do not really want to use their software; if you want a bootable clone, use either Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. If you simply want to drag and drop some files, you don't need software to do that. The important thing on any external drive is that you format/partition it correctly (Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and using GUID partition scheme).
Unfortunately, I don't know anything about WD drives or their software, so I don't have any idea what kind of backup you did. Having said that, it should still recognize the external even if it's outdated. Have you tried mounting it manually in Disk Utility? If you can get it to mount, you could (worst case scenario) just drag your stuff off onto your internal and then reformat the external. -

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

When I import my photos from my iPhone 4S into iPhoto the location does not appear. I have to open the info button on the photo click "photo place" then "find on map" and then the location appears. How to I get the location to appear automatically when I import my photos from my iPhone?
in your iPhoto preferences is look up location set to "automaticaly"?

Since a few days when I try to copy or move files on my macbook, I often get an error message saying "This operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code -8062)". And then it just quits the copy or move.
I searched a lot on the internet, but only found solutions for cases you cannot empty the trash due to this issue.
I tried those solutions for my trash and that helped after some trying.
However, I still have the problem with copying and moving files.
I even cannot install new software now, as it has to copy itself to the programs-directory, and gives the same error-message.
Who can help me??

- make sure you have at least 10% of your harddisk in free space (I had only 5%).
- do a PRAM-reset (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379)
- perform a hardware test (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509)
- make a complete backup (with for example Carbone Clone Copier, see http://www.bombich.com/)
- after complete backup: use diskwarrior (boot from Diskwarrior DVD, first perform diagnostics, then perform "Rebuild" which rebuilds your file directory).
So far I only cleared up some space on my HD, and already the problem occurs less.
Still, I will go through the other tips too.

THERE IS A PROBLEM IN OPENING ANY FILE. WHEN OPENING - A RAPID SUCCESSION OF FILES OPEN, ONE ATOP THE NEXT, WITHOUT SHOWING FILE'S CONTENT. THIS CONTINUES FOR QUITE A WHILE. I MUST TURN OFF COMPUTER. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO CHOOSE ANY OTHER FUNCTION WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING, IE : WHEN OPENING A FILE. AS IN , I CANNOT OPEN GOOGLE OR MAIL, ETC. AND THE FILES KEEP OPENING AS UNTITLED. SO I AM NOT ABLE TO OPEN ANY ONE FILE, AND SEE ITS CONTENT, THEY JUST KEEP STACKING LIKE EMTY PAGES ONE ON TOP OF THE NEXT.

Help! When I went to restore back up for my Iphone after downloading software update, it asked for password which I did not know. Apparently the box for encrypt had been checked but I do not recall anywhere indicating I needed to choose password. I was sent back to page with 2 options - set up new phone OR restore from back up WHICH I CANNOT DO WOTHOUT PASSWORD. wHAT DO i DO?

I'm not sure if you are referring to how long it's taking or why it varies.
The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
If your internet speed varies, the time will be recaculated from time to time.
