If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

I cannot download Google or Yahoo toolbars. It says Firefox could not install file there is an error 203, what does this mean and what can I do to fix it?

I have Firefox 3.6.16, I upgraded to Firefox 4 but there were many conflicts with Kaspersky so went back to 3.6.16 which is fine but I cannot get Google nor Yahoo toolbars to load.
