When I turn my iPod. 16GB Apple iTouch Black 4th Generation - ME178BT/A off half way through a track, why doesn't it resume when I turn it back on from where I left it????

I have just recently been bought an ipod touch 4th gen 16gb as a gift, I have uploaded all my music on to it and have been using it but every time I turn it off when half way through a track when I turn it back on to carry on listening to the track where i'd left it it doesn't resume play!!!
Can somebody please tell me why this is the case? as this is very annoying!!!!!
Thank you for your time and cooperation.
Kind regards
Jamie

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Apple tv just switched off half way through a movie ,now just flashes but no screen on tv

apple tv just switched off half way through a movie ,now just flashes but no screen on tv ? is it scrap

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

    - Does it play OK in iTunes on the computer?  If no, delete and redownload it.

    - If you only restored from backup, try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Switched Ipod off half way through iOS 6 update and it's crashed, what do I do?

I moved away from a Wifi area while my Ipod Touch was updating it's software to iOS6, so i decided to take a risk and turn it off (stupid, i know) and now if i try to turn it back on it simply shows a blank coloured screen, different every time. I tried plugging it into the computer and resetting it, nothing has worked so far. I'm scared i've broken it completely, does any one have any suggestions?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Even does this when not connected to the PC. I have tried a reset.

I don't know of one place JUST for this. I usually step people thru it on the WIndows forums so 1) they don't fudge up things even more and 2) sometimes windows wants to be a pain and stuff. But You can go here and roll down to "Format in windows" http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=361771
There are cases where even in disk mode it will not show, or only show for a second in windows under "My Computer". And in these cases you have to open task manager (Hold altctrldel all together to open it) goto the "Process tab", highlight "iPOdservice.exe" and hit end process. If you have to do this, you will have to restart windows when its done formatting so the "ipodservice.exe" is started again in the background and you can use the ipod updater to restore it

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • I am currently restoring my Ipod 5 however half way through recovering my ipod 5 iTunes say's "locked with a password unlock ipod etc... " and turns on the iPod and my iPod is still disabled what do i do?

I am currently restoring my ipod 5 however half way through re-covering my ipod 5 Itunes says "locked with a password unlock ipod etc..." and turns on the ipod and my ipod is still disabled...
    what do i do??

Try and force it into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

    Try resetting the SMC.
MacBook and MacBook Pro with a battery you can remove
    Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
    Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
Press the power button to turn on the computer
To reset the SMC on newer Mac portables with a battery you cannot remove
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

  • Upgrading Apple iPod Touch (MC544LL/A 32GB 4th Generation) from iOS 4.3.5 to iOS 5

could some boody guide me about how to upgrade an Apple iPod Touch (MC544LL/A 32GB 4th Generation) from iOS 4.3.5 to iOS 5. i have itunes 10.6.1. when i try to upgrade it gives me an option to upgrade it to iOS 5.1.1 but i dont want to do that as i have a custom app which can only run on iOS 5.0. Any suggestions would be welcome
    regards

    Kalpesh:
"Back in the day" one could roll back an iPod to a previous version because of how Apple controlled updates.  Later on, Apple decided to change the process.  That change makes it impossible to roll back to a previous version of iOS.
Basically, Apple forces iTunes to "phone home," and request permission to update your device.  At that point Apple's update server looks at your device type, device id, and iOS version.  If you are running an older version of iOS, and if your hardware is supported by the latest version, then iTunes is allowed to update your device.  Roll back are not permitted.  Period, end of story....
So then you have two choices:
    1.  Do not update your iPod to 5.1.1
    2.  Have the app written for 5.1.1 and then upgrade your iPod.
Oh, and if you still have doubts, let your mouse cursor do the walking and search the archives...  And Google will no doubt find TONS of info about this...

  • My ipod stops half way through step 1 when I am syncing

I[od touch stops half way through step q which i backing up

I would try moving the existing backup to a safe place since there may be some corruption that is causing the problem.  The backup file is located hre:
The folder where your backup data is stored changes depending on the computer's operating system. Since iTunes only keeps one backup per device, you should ensure the backup folder is included in your periodic data backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7).
