When restoring my iphone I'm getting both my husbands and my contacts loaded onto my phone, and then into my my Yahoo contacts. How do I restore to a backup without getting his contacts?
I just got my new 4s phone, backed up my old phone, and restored my new phone after my husband set it up to try to get his contacts off my new phone. We share an Itunes account, and now I have his contacts plus my contacts on my phone. His contacts have also now synced to my Yahoo account. I still have the old phone with just my contacts on it. How do I get just my contacts on my new phone, and back in my Yahoo account?
You can't selectively restore items from an iPhone backup in iTunes.
If you share an iTunes account and you have it set up to sync your contacts then it will sync all the contacts.
Are you on a Mac and do you use Yahoo or the address book to store your contacts?

Hello! 1st post here,
How can I backup iPhone A to iTunes and then restore into iPhone B without getting prompted for a backup password that I do no know or remember ever setting?
To clarify, I am not trying to read an encrypted backup. I would like to make a NEW backup but I do not want it to be encrypted as I do not know nor remember how a password was set in the 1st place. If I unclick the encryption checkbox, I am prompted to enter the password. Defeats the purpose of clicking on the box, no?

Unless you have a pre-DH backup of your iphone and/or Contacts to restore to, you can add this to your list of grievances when consulting a divorce attorney.

You're not signed into iCloud then.
Go to System Preferences>iCloud and sign in, switch on any services you want to use. Your contacts will show up in Contacts and your appointments will be in Calendar. Enter new contacts/events etc in the respective app.
Backup any content currently in Contacts and Calendars. -
i have deleted all contacts in icloud but still have them on my iphone (which is backed up as well to iTunes) how can i restore the iphone data to the iCloud so it will resend it to my mac book and iPad? I have switched my iphone to airplane mode so it is not connected to the internet and so icloud can not wipe it at the moment.
thanks royThere's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer. -

This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

Hi.. My internet and wifi are working on samsung phone and hp laptop but its not getting connected to iphone ipad, only skype is coming online rest all apps and safari show no internet connection. Got new linksys router WRT160NL , but situation same. Tried reboot, renew lease, forget network, reset network setting. Pls advice
Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

Trying to restore my iphone 5c, but it says i have to turn off the 'find my phone' option in icloud. when i try, it brings up the wrong apple id. I reset it under itunes & app store in settings but still not working...frustrated!
Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, click Restore button of iTunes on computer.

well i set a passcode on my iphone 4 and ive forgotten it i have no idea what to do and i only just got this phone plus i dont want to do these bypassing with emergancy call just in case i get it wrong plz help (urgent)
If you set the phone to erase on 10 failed passcodes - then just keep typing and it will wipe itself.
Otherwise I believe you can set it to recovery mode and restore etc.. via iTunes... There is no easy way as the passcode is designed to protect the phone exactly against what you are trying to do now...

When you connect the iPhone to sync with the new computer, a number of things will happen. If the new computer/iTunes does not contain any music, then yes, you will receive a prompt saying this iPhone is synced to another library, and if you continue, you will lose your music. However, you risk losing a number of other things, such as apps, contacts and calendar data. When you ask about photos, any photos that you have on the iPhone that were synced from the previous computer would also be lost. You need to save the photo folder from the old laptop and transfer that to the new desktop. You also need to sync the contacts and calendar to the same supported application that you were using in the past, such as Outlook, unless you are using an outside web-based sync, such as Google. Also, when you first connect the iPhone, it will make a backup, or at least make sure that it does before you attempt to sync, or you will not have a backup of some of the other things, such as mail settings, SMS, and the contents of the Camera Roll. I would import the photos from the camera roll to the new computer before trying to do anything else in iTunes.

Since upgrading to Aperture 3.3, when I try to sync photos to my iPhone, I'm getting all versions in a stack loading onto my phone, which makes for some ugly pics, as well as taking up nearly double the space.
Could it be the problem lies with iTunes and not Aperture? iTunes 10.6.3 was released on the same day as Aperture 3.3 -- June 11.
If someone has a configuration to test an older version of Aperture with iTunes 10.6.3 to see if the problem exists, that could be helpful. -

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, check the utilities folder as this is a common one for it to disappear into. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. -
