When should I use the .resetDRMVouchers() API?

[ Background ]
DRMManager.resetDRMVouchers() (and the corresponding APIs on iOS and Android) will reset the DRM license store on the client device.  It does this by renaming the license store and notifying Adobe Access DRM to perform an individualization the next time protected content is played.  On the next playback of content, a new license store directory is created and all new licenses will go into that store.  The previous license store is never used again.
Sometimes, it is necessary to perform a .resetDRMVouchers() if the client device has reached a state where Adobe Access DRM can no longer function properly.  For instance, if the license store has become corrupt, the device can no longer access existing licenses or store new licenses - they are stuck unless they use annother Browser or App, which would use another license store.
[ How to properly call .resetDRMVouchers() ]
Below is an Actionscript code snippet.  The exact same workflow applies to iOS and Android:
import flash.net.drm.*;
private function onDRMErrorEvent(event:DRMErrorEvent) : void {
    if(event.errorID == 3322  || event.errorID == 3346){
        try {
            DRMManager.getDRMManager().resetDRMVouchers();
            // you may want to display 'please reload the page or restart the browser' message.
        catch(e:Error)
            // most likely in older version of flash player where resetDRMVouchers is not allowed.
[ Which error codes indicate the client is disabled and requires a DRM Reset? ]
The following error codes require a DRM Reset in order to recover a client that can no longer play Adobe Access DRM content:
DRM Error Event
Description
3322 - Device Binding Failed
The underlying hardware attributes of the device has changed so much (likely by a hardware upgrade) that Adobe Access does not recognize this machine to be the same machine it was before.  Adobe Access treats this as a "copy and paste" attack where one device copies licenses to a different device in an attempt to share their DRM'd content; playback is denied.
The device can recover by re-installing their previous hardware.  If that is not desired/possible, a DRM reset will re-initialize Adobe Access to set the current device attributes as the baseline.  However, doing this removes access to all previous licenses stored on disk.
3323 - Corrupt Global State Store
The license store has become corrupt and can no longer be accessed until a reset is performed.
3326 - Store Tampering Detected
The license store has been tampered, causing the signature check to fail.  The store can no longer be used and a reset must be performed to create a new store.
3346 - License Migration Failed
When upgrading to a newer version of Adobe Access or Flash Player, all previous licenses are migrated to the new license store.  If migration fails, the old  store is corrupt and must be reset so that the next individualization attempt will not attempt to migrate your previous license store.

Kanan, the difference you already know, blade .vs rack mount. There are some CPU differences, but not much. Both can be managed by UCSM in version 1.4.x
So it really is ones preference on what you are using it for and how scalable you want things to be for future expansion.
Blades: easy, as you can buy a chassis and have 2 blades in that one chassis and add blades as needed. If using boot from San, can get a server back up in minutes
Rack mount: can take rack space more quickly, takes time to duplicate in case of a failed server
Very small differences, but hope this helps to start the wheels turning.
Good Luck!

    When should I use the power adapter?
    Whenever you are near a power outlet. Not 100% of the time, of course (you have to flex the battery sometimes) but as often as possible.

    If you are near an outlet, yes.
    Does the Macbook drain the battery when it is shut down or sleeping?
    When sleeping, it drains a negligible amount.

    You can however all have seperate icloud accounts aswel.

  • What are the mapfiles for and when should I use them?

    Hi,
    what are the map files for and why/when should I use them?
    /usr/lib/ld/map.noexstk
    usr/lib/ld/map.noexbss
    /usr/lib/ld/map.noexdata
    /usr/lib/ld/map.pagealign

    Hi, I'm sure you've read the comments, but for the benefit of those who haven't: /usr/lib/ld/map.noexstk # Linker mapfile to create a non-executable stack definition within an # executable. /usr/lib/ld/map.noexbss # Link-editor mapfile to create a non-executable bss segment definition # within an executable. /usr/lib/ld/map.noexdata # Link-editor mapfile to create a non-executable data segment definition # within an executable. These stop the various segments from being executable. Which could reduce the risk surface for exploiting security holes in an application. /usr/lib/ld/map.pagealign # Linker mapfile to create page-aligned data within an executable. Aligning the start of the data segment can reduce the number of TLB entries needed to map the data. So the smallest TLB page size is 8KB, then we have 64KB, then 4MB etc. If the data starts on a 4MB boundary then it can be mapped with 4MB pages, if not then it has to be mapped with 8KB pages until a 64KB boundary, then 64KB pages until we get to a 4MB boundary. You sometimes get a bit of performance from this, but you may also get performance stability from it. If the mapping is random sometimes it works well, sometimes it works less well. Regards, Darryl.

  • What is the difference between saving to "Documents" and "Macintosh HD" and when should you use each one?*

    What is the difference between saving to "Documents" and "Macintosh HD" and when should you use each one?

    When you save to the folder with the little house icon, the file is placed at
    /Users/your_user_name/
    You would really have to go out of my way to save at:
    (the shortcut for the Boot Drive, regardless of its name).
    I am not sure how you decided that Time Machine is not saving your files. The default is for Time Machine to do incremental Backups of everything on all attached drives, except for certain temporary information in Cache files. If you have four Users, Time Machine will back them all up.
    Looking at the raw Time Machine backups will tell you very little, because it does lots of its work with Hard Links, and because it does incremental backups, so only files that changed since the last Backup are saved at thet cycle. The way to determine whether Time Machine is saving things is to display the window you care about in the Finder, then invoke the "Star wars"/ "Back, back, back in time" Interface.

    BDAqua saved me a lot of typing.   It wasn't clear, though, if you just needed to vent or if you're wanting to address these issues (which will involve a lot of typing).
    One of the main ones you need to do before you do any installing or installing of Flash Player is deal with the disk that won't verify.  Basically you're working with a computer that doesn't know where all its files are.  The computer uses a directory to keep tack of them and your directory needs repairing.  If you don't repair it then you'll just end up losing files, and getting more problems with running the computer.  It's a little bit like never changing the oil in the car, or dealing with an oil leak when it happens.
    First, if at all possible make a backup of the drive in its present configuration.  If something goes wrong during repair attempts and makes things worse you will have a backup.  You will have to decide how to work this in the light of any present backups you may have, for example, a backup that may be a few days out of date.  In that case you may want to keep that one and make a second backup of this as they are now, though I realize people often don't have a lot of empty drives sitting around.
    Boot from the System Installer disc that came with your computer or is the one for the version you currently have on there, select language if applicable, choose utilities, run Disk Utility and verify (and repair if necessary) the drive. You can verify a drive from DU on your main drive while booted but I have found this can result in incorrect reporting of errors. To repair your drive you have to run it from a drive other than the boot drive anyway.
    Next, boot from your drive in [Safe Mode|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393] and repair permissions.  You can repair permissions while booted from the installer disc but this uses the permissions configuration on the installer disc which may be out of date if you have run any updates on your computer.  Booting your computer to Safe Mode restricts the number of things running on your computer while permissions are being run and does a bit of spring cleaning at the same time.

    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.

  • Java applet using the Swing API

    write a Java applet using the Swing API to manage a PC repair shop. When a PC is brought in for repair, a member of staff will use this applet to log it into the system as a repair job. They will also be able to use the applet to manage the job e.g. allocate a person to carry out the repair and enter costs.
    You must not use a tool such as JBuilder to generate Java code. If you use code from elsewhere e.g. a text book, you must highlight the code and state the reference clearly and include a photocopy of the relevant pages from the text book or other source.
    You should hard-code some initial data into your applet. You should not store any data in a file or database.
    Level of functionality you should attempt to implement:
    Level 1  Your applet should:
    a.     As a minimum, your program should store (in memory) at least 10 repair jobs. For each repair job, you need to store:
         The name and phone number of the customer bringing the PC in for repair;
         A brief textual description of the problem;
         Whether the PC is under warranty or not.
    b.     Your program must allocate and display a unique number for the job once it is accepted.
    c.     The user must be able to view the details of jobs. They should be able to select either:
         All the jobs in the system; or
         Jobs being carried out under warranty.
    Level 2 Your applet must meet the requirements for level 1. In addition it should:
    a.     You should carry out appropriate validation checks on input data e.g. the phone number contains all digits.
    b.     System should cope with an unlimited number of jobs.
    c.     The user should be able to select a job and then allocate a repairer to that job.
    d.     The user should be able to display a list of jobs for each repairer.
    Level 3 - Your applet must meet the requirements for level 1 and 2. In addition it should allow the user to:
    a.     Select a job and input the cost of repair for:
         the number of hours labour;
         parts.
    b.     Select a job and present the user with a cost for the labour (hard code an hourly labour cost) and parts, plus a total for that job. For jobs under warranty the total will be zero, however the cost of labour and parts will be shown.
    c.     Be able to inform the business of the total expected income from the all the jobs in the system that are not under warranty.
    Level 4 Your applet must meet the requirements for level 1 to 3. In addition:
    a.     The user should be able to enter a job priority which can be identified as high, medium or low.
    b.     Each repairer should be able to view a list of their jobs in order of priority.

  • Help/Example needed for creating JMSQueues/JMSTopics using the MBean API

    I am trying to create JMSQueues programmatically using the MBean API. When
    I use MBeanHome.createAdminMBean(), a queue appears in the root of the
    config file. This is progress, but the queue is in the wrong place! I need
    the queues to be part of my JMS server's "destinations" as seen on the
    console.
    So now I am trying to use createConfigurationMBean() instead, but I can't
    figure out what the "parent" parameter should be- no documentation! My
    first guess was that the parent might be the JMSServer, but that doesn't
    work.
    Anyone have example code to insert JMSQueues and JMSTopics into a specific
    JMS server's destinations?
    Here is the code I tried... All goes well until the final
    createConfigurationMBean call, where it throws a MBeanCreationException:
    // Get the MBeanHome bean
    Object obj = jndiContext.lookup("weblogic.management.adminhome");
    MBeanHome mbeanhome = (MBeanHome) javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow
    (obj, MBeanHome.class);
    // Get the server MBean
    JMSServerMBean jmsServerMB =
    (JMSServerMBean)mbeanhome.getMBean("examplesJMSServer",
    JMSServerMBean.class);
    // Create the new Queue
    JMSQueueMBean jmsQMB = (JMSQueueMBean)mbeanhome.createConfigurationMBean
    ("weblogic.examples.jms.fooQueue", "JMSQueue", jmsServerMB);

    Ok, I still don't see how I can do it differently with the admin tool. If
    you want to see the commands I'm using, I can post them, but the basic one
    is shown below in the previous message. We're trying to set up a script so

    I created previously, using the same naming scheme as in the above CREATE.

    Is it normal for someone to have general diffuculty charging an ipad?  I see the "not charging" message even when I am using the charger and cord that came in the original box, plugged into a wall socket directly.  It is normal for me to plug it in overnight and to see no charge whatsoever the next day.  I have never had so much trouble using a friggin charger in my life.  It just seems to be exceedingly finicky.  What am I missing?

    Charging your iPad should not be problematic. It should be an easy thing to do using the charger provided with your iPad connected to a known good wall outlet.
    The charging problem you are experiencing is most like caused by:
    1. A faulty charger
    2. A faulty cable
    3. A bad wall outlet
    4. A problem in the iPad.
    The first three of these are easiest to eliminate. Try a for ends charger and cable. Make absolutely sure your outlet is good. Try other outlets.
    If the charger, cable and outlet a proven to be good then the problem lies in the iPad.

Sould I program the logging procedure in the application or should I use the fine-grained auditing function of oracle to do it. I am not sure what this built-in function can do for me. Can anyone give me some advice on this? Thks.

    Why Fine-Grained Auditing?
    You may want to check standard auditing if it is suitable for you
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14266/cfgaudit.htm#BABCFIHB
    I don't think you can get pre and post update values of the affected data with Auditing.
    FGA is useful when you want to audit just a "subset" of the data in the table.
    (for instance, audit everyone that wants to get all records from EMP table where SALARY > 100000)
