Hi,
WE cannot predict wdDoExit call.
How does he come out of the form.
By navigating to some other page .right ?Or performing some action.
Why cant you capture the time before navigation in executed.or in case of action.. in its action handler.

    Oracle software purchases come with a CSI number that allows customers to have people contact support for products they own. If you or the organization you are working with has not purchased the product or have other support arrangements with Oracle (some partners have this), then you probably will not be able to obtain the patch from Oracle.
    You might be able to try a newer release of the product with an OTN evaluation license, WebLogic Server is currently on version 10.3.3, so you are at least 3 releases behind at this point if you are using 10.3.0.

  • How to trap null return values from getters when using Method.invoke()?

    Hi,
    I am using Method.invoke() to access getters in an Object. I need to know which getters return a value and which return null. However, irrespective of the actual return value, I am always getting non-null return value when using Method.invoke().
    Unfortunately, the API documentation of Method.invoke() does not specify how it treats null return values.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks

    What do you get as a result?I think I know what the problem is.
    I tested this using following and it worked fine:
    public class TestMethodInvoke {
    public String getName() {
    return null;
    public static void main(String args[]) throws SecurityException, NoSuchMethodException, IllegalArgumentException, IllegalAccessException, InvocationTargetException {
    Object o = new TestMethodInvoke();
    Class cls = o.getClass();
    Method m = cls.getMethod("getName", (Class[]) null);
    Object result = m.invoke(o, (Object[])null);
    if (result == null) {
    System.err.println("OK: Return value was null as expected");
    else {
    System.err.println("FAILED: Return value was NOT null as expected");
    However, when I use the same technique with an EJB 3.0 Entity class, the null return value is not returned. Instead, I get a String() object. Clearly, the problem is the the EJB 3.0 implementation (Glassfish/Toplink) which is manipulating the getters.

  • When will the setNodeValue() method of XMLNode be implemented?

    It seems the setNodeValue() method along with all the other methods of XMLNode are not implemented yet. When will it be available? Also what can I do if I want to build an XMLDocument in Java (but not using Java classes)? Does creating indivdual nodes and later append them together work?
    Thanks.

    For example, the following code
    XMLElement element = new XMLElement("A");
    element.setNodeValue("abc");
    will cause the following exception:
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDOMException: Node cannot be modified.
    void oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLNode.setNodeValue(java.lang.String)
    Why is this? And how to get around it? Basically all I want to do is creating a valid XML by creating individual elements first and then use appendChild() operation to put them together in a hierarchy... can this work?
    Thanks!

  • Changing exception clause in method signature when overwriting a method

    Hi,
    I stumbled upon a situation by accident and am not really clear on the details surrounding it. A short description:
    Say there is some API with interfaces Foo and Bar as follows:
    public interface Foo {
       void test() throws Exception;
    public interface Bar extends Foo {
       void test();
    }Now, I find it strange that method test() for interface Bar does not need to define Exception in its throws clause. When I first started with Java I was using Java 1.4.2; I now use Java 1.6. I cannot remember ever reading about this before and I have been unable to find an explanation or tutorial on how (or why) this works.
    Consider a more practical example:
    Say there is an API that uses RMI and defines interfaces as follwows:
    public interface RemoteHelper extends Remote {
       public Object select(int uid) throws RemoteException;
    public interface LocalHelper extends RemoteHelper {
       public Object select(int uid);
    }As per the RMI spec every method defined in a Remote interface must define RemoteException in its throws clause. The LocalHelper cannot be exported remotely (this will fail at runtime due to select() in LocalHelper not having RemoteException in its clause if I remember correctly).
    However, an implementing class for LocalHelper could represent a wrapper class for RemoteHelper, like this:
    public class Helper implements LocalHelper {
       private final RemoteHelper helper;
       public Helper(RemoteHelper helper) {
          this.helper = helper;
       public Object select(int id) {
          try {
             return (this.helper.select(id));
          } catch(RemoteException e) {
             // invoke app failure mechanism
    }This can uncouple an app from RMI dependancy. In more practical words: consider a webapp that contains two Servlets: a "startup" servlet and an "invocation" servlet. The startup servlet does nothing (always returns Method Not Allowed, default behaviour of HttpServlet), except locate an RMI Registry upon startup and look up some object bound to it. It can then make this object accessible to other classes through whatever means (i.e. a singleton Engine class).
    The invocation servlet does nothing upon startup, but simply calls some method on the previously acquired remote object. However, the invocation servlet does not need to know that the object is remote. Therefore, if the startup servlet wraps the remote object in another object (using the idea described before) then the invocation servlet is effectively removed from the RMI dependancy. The wrapper class can invoke some sort of failure mechanism upon the singleton engine (i.e. removing the remote object from memory) and optionally throw some other (optionally checked) exception (i.e. IllegalStateException) to the invocation servlet.
    In this way, the invocation servlet is not bound to RMI, there can be a single point where RemoteExceptions are handled and an unchecked exception (i.e. IllegalStateException) can be handled by the Servlet API through an exception error page, displaying a "Service Unavailable" message.
    Sorry for all this extensive text; I just typed out some thoughts. In short, my question is how and why can the throws clause change when overwriting a method? It's nothing I need though, except for the clarity (e.g. is this a bad practice to do?) and was more of an observation than a question.
    PS: Unless I'm mistaken, this is basically called the "Adapter" or "Bridge" (not sure which one it is) pattern (or a close adaptation to it) right (where one class is written to provide access to another class where the method signature is different)?
    Thanks for reading,
    Yuthura

    Yuthura wrote:
    I know it may throw any checked exception, but I'm pretty certain that an interface that extends java.rmi.Remote must include at least java.rmi.RemoteException in its throws clause (unless the spec has changed in Java 1.5/1.6).No.
    A method can always throw fewer exceptions than the one it's overriding. RMI has nothing to do with it.
    See Deitel & Deilte Advanced Java 2 Platform How To Program, 1st Ed. (ISBN 0-13-089650-1), page 793 (sorry, I couldn't find the RMI spec quick enough). Quote: "Each method in a Remote interface must have a throws clause that indicates that the method can throw RemoteException".Which means that there's always a possibility of RemoteException being thrown. That's a different issue. It's not becusae the parent class can throw RE. Rather, it's because some step that will always be followed is declared to throw RE.
    I later also noticed I could not add other checked exceptions, which made sense indeed. Your explanation made perfect sense now that I heard (read) it. But just to humour my curousity, has this always been possible? Yes, Java has always worked that way.
    PS: The overwriting/-riding was a grammatical typo (English is not my native language), but I meant to say what you said.No problem. Minor detail. It's a common mistake, but I always try to encourage proper terminology.

  • Can I possibly avoid to leave a view in the WDDOEXIT method?

    Hi everybody,
    I want to use the WDDOEXIT method to check some values. In error case, the view should not be leave.
    The cancel_navigation( ) method in component controller has not the required effect.
    With a message_manager->report_exception( ... ) a message is reported but the view can be change.
    Is there a way to stop the view change?
    Thanks and
    kind regards

    Hi,
    following scenario.
    I have a popup with a tabstrip in it. On each tab is one view.
    So to leave a view the user can change the tab or close the popup.
    There is no problem to check values from context when the user press enter after some doing. But if the user only change a value in an input field and press the X on the edge of the popup to close it, how can I prevent, that the popup will be closed in case of an error??
    thanks a lot

  • How to use java.lang.Class.getMethod() and java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(

    I want to call a specified method of one class dynamically. I use the method
    "getMethod()" in package "java.lang.Class" to get method and "invoke()" in
    " java.lang.reflect.Method " to invoke method.
    The problem is as following :
    1. There are two argument in this method "getMethod(String MethodName , Class[] paremterTypes)" in package "Class". I have no idea about the second parameter " Class[] parameterTypes ".what does the argument exactly mean ?
    2. There are two argument in the method "invoke(object obj, object[] obj)" in package "Method".
    I have no idea about the second parameter "object[] obj ".what is mean ?
    I pass " null " value to it and it works.But i pass anothers ,jvm will throw exception.

    I have a generic Method Executer that has a method like
    public Object execute(String className, String methodName, Object args)
        String fullClassName = packageName + className ;
        Class delegateClass = Class.forName(fullClassName);
        BaseDelegate delegate = (BaseDelegate)delegateClass.newInstance();
        Method method = null;
        if (args == null)
            method = delegateClass.getMethod(methodName, new Class[] {});
            obj = method.invoke(delegate,new Object[] {});
        else
            method = delegateClass.getMethod(methodName, new Class[] {args.getClass()});
            obj = method.invoke(delegate, new Object[]{args});
       }This seems to have problems when I call the method from a class like:
    execute("CategoryDelegate", "getCategoryById", new Integer(4144));(I get a NoSuchMethodException)
    The method I am trying to execute in CategoryDelegate looks like:
    public Category getCategoryById(int categoryId) throws DelegateExceptionI think it has to deal with the difference in the way we handle Primitive Wrappers and Objects. Wrapper we have to use Interger.TYPE and with the rest of the Objects we have to use obj.class.
    Am I doing something wrong here? Any suggestions to make it work for primitive wrappers as well as Objects?

  • Java.lang.NoSuchMethodException Using Method.invoke(...)

    I try to use Method.invoke() to invoke a method from a class. The method
    has parameters with type JTextArea and JMyFrame, but I got the error
    messages java.lang.NoSuchMethodException . Any ideas???
    If I remove parameter "JFrame mainFrame" in start() method and it is working fine. Not sure why JMyFrame will throw this exception, as JMyFrame is derived from JFrame class
    public class MyFrame extends JFrame
         try
    ClassLoader loader
    = new MyClassLoader(Integer.parseInt("3"));
    Class c = loader.loadClass("NewMenuPackage.NewMenu");
    Class[] params = { JTextArea.class, JMyFrame.class };
         Method m = c.getMethod("start", params);
         Object obj = c.newInstance();
    m.invoke(obj,
         new Object[] {
              textArea,
              JMyFrame.this
    catch (Throwable e)
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(this, e);
    package NewMenuPackage;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class NewMenu
         private static JMenuItem menuItem = new JMenuItem("New Menu");
         public static JMenuItem getJMenuItem()
              return menuItem;
         public static void start(JTextArea textArea, JFrame mainFrame)
              System.out.println("NewMenu->start()...");
    }

    Your "params" Class array has to specify the exact classes of the method, not subclasses. The line that is causing the NoSuchObjectException to be thrown is "c.getMethod("start", params);".
    You have to write your own reflection utility methods to find a method that matches on parameter subclasses.

  • Method.invoke hangs. HELP

    that is:
    Method.invoke(obj,args)
    It works just fine the first dozen or 2 times, same obj, same args. No prob.
    Then it hangs.
    No exception message. nothing. It just stops at invoke. And the Task Manager says the thread is eating 99% of the CPU, so it's spinning away in some loop I guess. The method getting invoked DOES NOT get called. It's definitely hanging inside invoke somewhere. Is this a bug?

    one more clue: There're 100-200 threads calling Method.invoke when the hang happens. The hang is permanent as far as I can tell. I've tried using synchronize in various ways. No luck.

  • Dynamic casting of Method.invoke() return

    Can anyone clue me in on how to cast the return of Method.invoke() based on Method.getReturnType() or whatever else might work dynamically....that is without knowing which method until runtime?
    Thanks,
    Brad

    Thanks for helping me get a grip....makes perfect sense, I guess I was just wondering how far you could take the runtime decisions thing.
    Can I say that, ( and it seems obvious but... ), programatic flexibility and runtime decision making can only be taken so far - and has to be made in the context of certain presumptions at compike time.
    I can see that in implementing the:
    <jsp: setParameter name="myBean" property="*" />
    Presumptions are made that the values passed to
    the bean setter methods will be String objects and that the
    values returned from the:getter methods using:
    <jsp: getProperty name="myBean" property="whaterver" />
    will also be String objects.
    Reality check?
    Thanks again,
    Brad

    I have two things in mind:
    1. either modify the make() in class Tree as static
    static void make() {//caution u may have to worry about instance variables referenced under this method2.
    under your main static method, invoke it like this instead
    mainClass mc=new mainClass();
    mc.make();//not Tree.make();

  • Hi i was wondering, my iphone(iOS 7.0.3) cant sync or cannot be read on my itunes(11.1.3.8) on my windows 8.1. So i was wondering if anyone knew when will windows and itunes be compatible officially? or is there another way to fix without waiting?

    Hi anyone can help? Cause i cannot sync my iphone(iOS 7.03) on my itunes(11.1.3.8) on windows 8.1? I heard that it is because windows 8.1 and itunes 11.1 " ain't compatible. So i was wondering if anyone knew when will they be compatible or is there another method without me doing much"harm" to my itunes or windows? Please your help is most wanted!!!

    I have 8.1 and iTunes and its working. My cloud doesn't so I had to remove the 'sync contacts and calendar to the cloud' and to back to the old say, but I just synced my iPad and iPos (both running 7.0.3) last night and it worked.
    There are features with 8.1 that may be messing things up. For example there's a setting when you upgrade to 8.1 where you can turn off the automatic install of drivers. With devices, every time the iOS and iTunes updates there is a new driver to make your device visible on a computer. If you turn off that auto install then you may have blocked your computer from getting that driver.
    In addition, with iOS7 there came the 'do you trust this computer' which is a choice you have to make on your device. If you tell your device no, then it may have issues connecting to your computer.

  • Revise Method Invoke Functionality

    Hi,
    When the revise button is clicked, records are automatically fetched in the UI but this is only limited to system fields and displayed fields.
    As explained in Siebel bookshelf that only system fields or displayed fields are automatically activated. If this is not the case, then it must be activated prior to the query.
    I do not understand what is being meant about “prior to the query?” does this mean, before the business service script kicks off (this is vanilla BS script for revise method) the query will be takes place prior from copying ALL records and child records from the original record?
    Is there a way to copy the un-displayed field when the revise method is applied?
    For example the field “Line Item” from the original record is not currently exposed/displayed, meaning this will not be copied to the new record that has been revised?

    The BC.InvokeMethod("Revise") is generally used for creating a revision of the currently selected record. This is particularly useful in case of Sales applications using Quotes, Orders and Invoices. In layman's term it is something like creating a copy of the current record and populating the requisite details.
    The Revise method copies the value of only certain pre defined fields into the new record created. For this there is a specific User property also.
    For more details it will be good to go through this link:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14004_01/books/ToolsDevRef/ToolsDevRef_BCClasses6.html
    Do note that this method is supported on BC based on CSSBCBase Class.

  • Is Method.invoke (Object,Class[]) efficient

    hi
    How efficient is the method invoke compared to explicit method calling?
    thanks

    I cna't give any solid numbers either, but when I've used it I've noticed it to be much slower than directly invoking the method. Ballpark I'd guess 5 times as much overhead, but don't hold me to that. Of course, if the work your method does is large compared to method invocation overhead, then it shouldn't really matter.
