Whenever I attach a docx, doc, or pdf to my gmail account my mac converts to a binary file so no one can read it

This is a recent problem. Any ideas?

Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6 (Firefox 16 runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5).

Nothing has been converted. You first need to convince yourself of this.
Start Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat, if you have it). Use Open from the File menu. Pick one of your PDF files. Does it open OK? If not, what happens?

Having Problems Converting Word Doc to PDF and Retaining Links

My company recently upgraded company wide to Reader 9 (for Windows). My department develops documentation and we currently use Acrobat Professional 8. Recently we have had several issues where we try to convert a Word 2003 or PowerPoint 2003 doc to PDF with Acrobat Prof 8 and the converted PDF does not retain links when our users open it. The most they get is a information bubble when tehy hover over it that shows the link URL or indocument location, they are unable to seledct the link. Is this a compatability issue between Reader 9 and Acrobat 8 Prof? I have tried everything i know to resolve the issue. Could someone, please offer any helpful info they can? Thanks!

I withdraw the question. The documents we were given were in Mark Up mode on the Word 2003 side of things. We turned it off and it seems to be working fine now.

From within Adobe Reader, could you try opening Adobe Reader XI and choosing Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac), then select 'Adobe Online Services' from the left-hand side. Click 'Sign Out...', then sign back in with your Adobe ID and password.
After this is completed, try choosing the Tools pane again from within Reader to see if you can access your subscription.

While downloading an eBook from internet, I found a book in a folder containing around 123 files, which is equivalent to the number of pages of the book.
My interest is to bring them together in one file so that I can read it at a time. As the interface is not comfortable with html, I also like to convert it into another more suitable file format.

Hi Vinay.
Would these files be editable and if so, where would they reside? If you want people to be able to edit the files, you need to consider where the files are located. If you link directly to a file in RoboHelp, a local copy is copied into your project as a baggage file. If a user then clicks on the link, the local copy is opened and any edits can not be saved back to the WebHelp's output location. However if you were to create an image (like the ones you used above) and added a hyperlink to the file's location - i.e. on a network drive outside the project, this would enable users to edit and save changes to the original file location. Hope this helps.

Error when display a CRM Attachment - doc or pdf

Hi All,
I'm getting this error when I try to display the attachment in CRM.
"No document display because of missing Customizing for HTTP service '/default_host/sap/bc/contentserver' -> See SAP Note 606745"
We have activated the contentserver in transaction SICF. I can attach a document but cannot display...I can attach .doc and pdf files.
Is there any missing settings to display that attachment?

On top of this you can create external alias for service '/default_host/sap/bc/contentserver' as mentioned in step 1 of note
'606745'. Furthermore please also check your browser settings as per note 818685 point 3:
Following settings are required in client PC :
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and above is required.
Activate 'Active Scripting'
Activate 'Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins'
Activate 'Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe

Trying to attach saved doc to email but it shows as greyed out and won't open. If I convert same doc to pdf format it attaches OK. What am I doing wrong?

I'm new Mac user and can't work out why a saved pages doc won't attach to an email. I can see it in Finder and open it in Pages but when I try to attach it shows up in grey and won't open. If I then convert the same doc to pdf it's OK. What am I doing wrong?

I have my personal mail in Apple Mail program but my business account is via Google Apps for work so operates like a gmail account and that's the one I need for attachments. The Pages version I have is 5.2(1860). It would be good to fix if I can without having to make the extra step of pdf conversion. I purchased the computer a week ago and it's OSX 10.9.5 which I guess is the latest version. Should I upgrade to Yosemite? Perhaps that has a later version of Pages? Thanks again. Barbara

The attachements are all converting to google doc from pdf. How do I keep pdf?

Thunderbird now sends and receives all my pdf files as google docs but I would prefer that they remain pdf. Even reports sent from Quickbooks.

Tools menu (Alt+T) > options > Attachments and delete all references to google docs or PDF and then restart Thunderbird.

I have a requirement in which there are mails coming into CRM that have attachments of any of the above mentioned types. The requirement is that whenever I process this mail using custom implementation of the class CL_CRM_E2C_MAINACTION, the attachments in the mail should get attached to a new order that is being created in this class. I have been able to attach XML files but have problems attaching these other file types. Please help me find a solution for the same.

Can't convert .doc to .pdf using Acrobat 9.4.3.

Last night for some reason Acrobat 9 suddenly stopped converting any MS Word .docs to .pdfs. It gives me the following message:
Acrobat could not open 'XYZ.doc' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF or use the Acrobat toolbar found in Microsoft Office applications.
I swear it was working earlier. So I checked for an update and it gave me 9.4.3 so I updated and it didn't fix the problem. I also tried several different files and got the same message.
I'm using OS 10.6.7 Acrobat 9.4.3 and MS Word 11.3.5 (2004).

What version of Word do you Have?
Word 2004 if you had Acrobat as well the PDFmaker menu bar was installed by Acrobat you could convert a .doc Document to PDF. It required the use of VBA and and a Macro which created the PDFMaker menu. I was Secretary and Treasurer of an association for 30 years and I converted many a 2004 Word Document to PDF using PDFMaker.
You still had the same problems with word converted to PDF as today. If there are any section Breaks or Page breaks the pdfs were broken up into pieces you have to put back together.
I still have some .Doc files from early 2006 and with Office 2011, I opened one, and just saved it as a Pdf no trouble. I didn't convert it and didn't save it as a Docx.
I simply went to Save as and chose PDF.
And I also went to Print menu> PDF> adobe quality PDF. and was able to make a PDF.
Also I just went to print menu > PDF and just chose PDF which makes an Apple version of PDF.
I don't know where anyone got the idea you can't make a PDF from a Doc File. Maybe in a future version That doesn't read doc. but for now
