Where are HFM security classes created/maintained

Point me in the right direction please...
We are on 9.2.1
Thanks
Jeff

Ok, now we have two pieces of information, but still a third is missing for a complete answer:
1. Security is stored in relational tables as specified in the first answer
2. Security can be maintained by importing text files of appropriate format as specified in the second answer
3. Security can be maintained by using the SharedServices Web client, which is a more user friendly way to manage security
Using the Shared Services Web client (http://[servername]:[portnumber]/interop/, typically portnumber=58080) you must first provision the users to use the application, by selecting the proper user directory > users or groups > search for the active user you are interested and right click - provision. This leads you to a screen where you must specify which applications your user/group can access and the level of access.
Then by selecting the application under the appropriate project (projects > [project name] > [app name]) you can define classes and assign classes to users.

  • HFM Security Class and Security

    Hi All my Peers,
Can any one explain me What is the difference between Security Class and Security

No offense, but if you don't understand these concepts well enough, your CV should probably be sent a far distance if you are trying to get an experienced consulting position. Understanding security is an important piece to the puzzle, especially when dealing with large amounts of financial data.
    With that said.......
Security - Generally speaking, the goal of security is to control access to data, objects, programs, etc. In the Hyperion sense, security is managed in multiple different ways :
    - Program Access : Only users who are linked to Hyperion's Shared Services AND have the proper provisioned rights can open a program. (i.e. HFM, Reports, Workspace, FDM, etc, etc, etc.)
    - Provisioning : There are different types of rights per program that a user can have. Provisioning is the act of assigning these rights. (i.e. HFM has multiple rights such as Appliation Administrator, Default, Provisioning Manager, etc.)
    - Data / Object Access : Even if you have the right to enter the program, there is generally another layer of security which controls what you can do. For instance, inside of HFM, you can configure security for objects such as Data Forms and Data Grids. Furthermore, you can limit the user's ability to change or view data for specific entities, accounts, as well as other dimensions.
    - Security Classes : The security classes that you assign in the metadata are used during the act of assigning the Data / Object access controls. Users (and Groups) and assigned View Only, All (Read/Write), or None access to HFM Security Classes.
This is a ridiculously high level overview. To get a much better understanding, I strongly recommend that you read the product documentation for the specific products you are using. If you are using 11.1.2.1 / HFM, here are a couple of documents that are of value :
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hfm_admin.pdf - Administrators guide which has a section on security.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hfm_user.pdf - Users' guide which talked to security in terms of forms/ grids
    General System 11 doc : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/nav/portal_5.htm
    Hope that helps

  • HFM Security Class Java API

    Dear All,
I'm trying to get HFM Security Class info using Java APIs. Recently I was able to connect to the Hyperion Shared Services using the hyperion css.jar java file. Is there a similar jar to access the Security classes and get users, groups and vice versa?
Any examples would be great as well.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping this was not the case...
In 9.2 I used these objects but I was hoping to move away from this and use provided API's.
I'm using c# to talk to the object which I expose to java using web services so I guess that is what I'll be using!!!
    Cheers,

  • HFM security Class

    Hello Guys,
I've to create around 3500 security classes and same number for the HSS roles I'm wondering if there is a way to bulk upload from a txt or a csv file rather than create everityng manually.
    Thanks
    Fran

That's right: HFM's security extract has four sections: users/Groups, Security Classes, User/Group Role assignments, and User/Group class access. This can be easily coded outside of HFM and then loaded into the HFM application directly. Please note that security can only be loaded in Merge mode, so if you need to remove a user's access, you must do so from within Shared Services. Do not use the "Clear all security" mode unless you plan to rebuild the application entirely.

  • Report template : where are defined the class

    Hello,
I'm looking where the class are defined, such used in "before rows"
    <td><table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" class="t1standard">
I'd like to add by owns or to modify existing one.

    Hello,
It's in the css file if you open up the page template there should be something like.
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="#IMAGE_PREFIX#carl/theme_1/theme_V2.css" type="text/css" />
and thats the css file that is being used by your pages. Either edit that file (discouraged) add another file right after it it that overrides the classes you want to change or just change it inline in the page header or the template.

  • Where are the security keys???

I bought a cisco router with storage a few weeks ago.  I set it up and now I have 5 wireless devices assigned/connected to the  router.  Now I bought a HP Printer I need to connected  wirelessly.  I thought I wrote down the correct security key, WPA security, but  I cannot get it to connect.  So I logged into the router using 192.168.1.1 and it asked me for my user name and password.  After I logged in I looked at all the menus and did not find any listing for my security keys or a way to change them.  Has this something with Cisco connect?  If so how do I find out the keys I used???

    1. I'll give you that. There is room for arrow keys.
    2. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. There are BT keyboards with arrowe keys out there you can use. And many amny editors in the App store you can use if you don't like the built in Notes App or even Pages.
    3. There is a feature know as the Magnifying glass, that lets you position the cursor with pin point accuracy.  It can be used by holding your finger on the word for amoment and it will pop up. You can then drag the cursor to any letter you want.  This is the way most people position the cursor exactly where they want it.
Page 24 of the user manual covers this.

With that said, you are welcome to provide the suggestion to Apple, at their feedback page.

Where/how in RON or DE are tablespace and storage definitions created?
In Database Design Transformer Settings dialog box - Database tab; Help states that tablespace and storage definitions for an application system can be created using the Repository Object Navigator or the Design Editor.

  • URGENT: Where are the loadjava classes?

Does anyone know where the LoadJavaMain class and other classes required by the loadjava utility live? When I try and run loadjava I get a ClassDefNotFound error on the LoadJavaMain class. Help!!

This looks like a classpath issue. The aurora directory only exists in the JAR file where the classes are stored. In this case they are in the
    oracle_home/javavm/lib/aurora_client_orbindep.jar
file. Insure that this is in your OS CLASSPATH setting. It should be getting set by the loadjava script/batch file.

  • Where are my Report Classes (C# classes corresponding to my RPTs)?

In almost all samples I downloaded from BO, there is one ".cs" file that corresponds to an ".rpt" file. This c# file has an autogenerated header. and there are two classes in it. One with identical name to the report and one with the same name but "Cached" in front of it. For instance:
        public class Customer : ReportClass {
       [System.Drawing.ToolboxBitmapAttribute(typeof
    (CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions), "report.bmp")]
public class CachedCustomer : Component, ICachedReport
When I add a CrystalReports report to my asp.net project, i just get an ".rpt" file.
What are the ramifications of not having these classes? Does the 'cached" class help with me performance?
    thanks
    jeff

there should be no problems with the missing class files.  They will only exist in Windows applications or web applications migrated from VS2003 or earlier.  VS2005 does not generate these files for web applications.  All they did was allow you to reference the report as a strongly-typed report (ie: dim myrpt as new SalesReport() )   in your application and the report would be embedded in the application.
With VS2005 and higher web applications, you must load the reports from disk using
    ReportDocument.Load(pathToReport).
the Cached report class would only help if you had a massive report (hundreds of pages) that took a long time to return.  this report would also have to be shareable (ie all users see exactly the same data).  The downside is that it would occupy a chunk of memory on the server for an extended period of time.

  • Where are the security preference files in SL?

Some apps (e.g. iTunes) keep asking me if I want to Allow or Deny incoming connections when they're launched.
In the Security > Advanced window/list these apps definitely are properly set (i.e. to allow/green) but some apps still keep asking me if I want to allow or deny every time they are launched.
I deleted the com.apple.security.plist file, but after rebooting, the list remains for the Allow/Block apps... as well as the Security > Advanced boxes either being checked or not.
So... it appears there must be more than one plist file (i.e. com.apple.security.plist file) that I must delete to reset the Security Advanced window.
I have also deleted apps from the Security > Advanced list (via the ' - ' button just below the list) and for the first launch of these apps the display of the dialog box asking to allow or deny disappears, but upon the second launch they again display a dialog box asking whether I want to allow or deny connections. And yes, I looked and they are properly set as to whether to allow or block (green or red respectively).
This began after one of the last updates many months ago. I'm only now posting because it's getting on my nerves and I haven't been able to figure it out.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Ron

Get yourself fcprescue for your version of fcp.
It trashes all the prefs (which are stashed in a couple of places.) It also allows you to save a good set. Then it's a matter of two clicks to trash bad prefs and put your good ones back.
    It's a must have.

  • Iweb query - where are files I have created saved to?

I have never previously used iweb in the 7 years I have had my computer.  Now I have created a small website on it but I am struggling to launch it.  I have chosen the FTP option and downloaded an FTP client (Classic FTP).  That client has offered me a list of my imac files to launch but my iweb website is not there - and I cannot find it in Finder, to transfer it to imac.  In iweb it only offers "save", not "save to".  But all saves are successful, as each time I run iweb I get the most recently amended version of my website.
    Any help gratefully received.

Unfortunately I'm a real novice and "fill in the publish details" doesn't mean much to me.
iWeb asks for FTP Server (I think it's ftp.nchsoftware.com), username & password - do I invent a username & password.
Classic FTP asks for similar info - do I put the same FTP Server info in?  I assume I put the same username (my e-mail address?).  I don't remember setting up a password but it says I have and I can't remember it.  Have e-mailed nch for password help.
I've spent hours getting this far - it's v confusing for a pensioner like me.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Where are Airport security settings stored?

I am having some boot issues with my iBook and am currently running the computer off of an external hard drive. However, the hard drive does not contain any of the password information for the closed network here at work. Where would I find this file on the iBook, and would simply copying this file to the appropriate location on the volume on the external hard drive allow me to go online wirelessly?
    Thanks. . .

    G3 iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Go to Utilities and Keychain app, everything is stored in there. As long as u have administrator rights. I don't know if u can copy it over. But u can certainly write it down. Once u find the entry, click to open/edit, if u have admin rights, the password will be revealed.

  • Oracle XE, where are the security patches? ( Pete Finnigan)

    http://www.petefinnigan.com/weblog/archives/00000973.htm
Good that somebody worry about Oracle XE users security. I must agree with Pete that "its not a good idea to expose it to the internet even via a web based application". What do you think about Oracle XE security?

Is there a legitimate concern here or is this an "Open ended write me an essay" question?

  • Where are my tags?

I use Photoshop Elements for many years. I am now in possession of version 10. My catalog, with over 33,000 photos, I have given most of the photo's a tags: Family, friends, places, events and so on. Now I have this great collection divided in two smaller catalogs and the great catalog kept.  I can, however, not find the tags in the two newly created catalogs, despite the fact that I have tried "keyword tags  and property information write to photos..."  several times. Also " automatic analysis " brings me no further.  I would like the tags, which I have given in the big catalog, also see back in the other catalogs.  Is that possible?

Thank you very much. You helped me a lot. Everything is now organized. I can find all with my tags.
The last question is: When I change or add tags in one of my split catalogs, will it also changed in the original catalog? I have not tried, but sure you know the answer.
    Again many thanks,
    Wart
PS Do I need to update to 11? Is it much better? I’m now very used to 10. I find it strange that there is an update every year for minor extras.
