I thought I had sync all my contacts through icloud and I was able to check them on outlook (using window 7) but now I amd away from my phone but want to access my contacts and cant see anything under outlook contacts. What going wrong??

Log in to your account at verizonwireless.com.  At the home screen, you'll see 4 categories across the top - Explore, Shop, My Verizon, Support.  Under My Verizon is a link to "Backup My Contacts" - click that and you should be taken to the most recent backup of your contacts from the Backup assistant.

  • Where are my contacts?!

This used to be real simple.....
Ok I was having a problem with my iPhone not syncing my music properly so I was advised to to a restore which I did. I did it as a new phone, not from the back up.
I now can't find any of my contacts. I thought the iPhone automatically backed up. I was backing up to my computer. I found my address book on my computer and it has one contact out of 100....sigh... I have numerous back ups of Time Machine and manual ones but I can not find a file that has the past 3 years of contacts.
    Thanks for any help,
OK I was able to download all my contacts from Gmail but just want phone numbers and there are many I don't want at all. How can I edit and now back up these contacts on my Mac so I have a secure copy somewhere I know?

    "Right...but a back up is a back up...it should still exist...right?"
No.  Itunes generally keepos the past backup.  Contacts aredesigned to be synced to your computer.  I'm not sure that they are backed up at all, *** you should be syncing them to your computer.
"I have not "not" been backing up which is what confuses me....did I have to make a conscious effort to back up everything? Used to be the default?"
Backing up and syncing are not really the same.  You should never have any information in only one place ( e.g. your contacts should never just be on your iphone).  The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer.  You would have to make these selections when you set up the iphone sync.
"Asuming I some how decided NOT to back up how would I do so now?"
Where are the contacts now?  If you do not have them anywhere, then they are gone.  Have you tried to restore from backup?
"Do I have to do a complete back up or can I restore bits and pieces like an address book?"
No.  It is all or nothing.
"Backed up" is not accurate.  Your contatcs should live on your computer and be synced with your iphone. You should also back up your entire computer regularly.

Take a look at this Apple doc -> iTunes: About iOS backups
It shows the locations of backups and how to use them with iTunes.

  • My iPhone 6  is deleting contacts after sending them a message on iMessage, using iOS 8.1.2

    Hi All,
My iPhone 6+ is deleting contacts after sending them a message on iMessage, using iOS 8.1.2.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have a fix?
It was not doing this until today.
    Cheers Nic

    Hi Virkit,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  It sounds like you have already tried some of the troubleshooting steps below.  If your Touch ID is not able to enroll any of your fingers, it may need to be serviced.
Use Touch ID on iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-is/HT5883
    Get help with Touch ID
Make sure that you're using the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.
Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on. Also make sure that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints.
    Try enrolling a different finger.
If you can't enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for help.
    * Moisture, lotions, sweat, oils, cuts, or dry skin might affect fingerprint recognition. Certain activities can also temporarily affect fingerprint recognition, including exercising, showering, swimming, cooking, or other conditions or changes that affect your fingerprint.

  • Upgraded to iOS5; where are my contacts?

I just upgraded to iOS5; where are my contacts? Everything else is there, just my contacts are totally missing -- a real disaster.

They are in whatever contact manager or cloud service you were syncing them to. What were you syncing them with and are they still there?

  • Help! Where are my contacts & text messages after syncing new iPhone!

    Hi anyone who can help!
I've just had to replace my iPhone 3G which was faulty, and got my new one today without any problem.
I did all the right things by syncing all my iPhone content last night with iTunes so that I could reload them onto the new one.
But when I plugged in the new one to sync from 'back up', it said the new iphone's software was too old, and that I would first need to
1 - set it up as a new phone
    2- upgrade the software
3 Then sync again using the 'back up' content.
Well I've done the first two but after that I've found it impossible to back up using the original content and now I fear it's synced it again with new material, ie an empty phone basically! What I really need to know is all that content, ie my entire phone book AND text messages thread (going back a year) still retrievable? I've located all my contacts in the address book and I may have to re-enter them manually, which I can live with, but what about the text messages??
Any help at all much appreciated!
    simon

Text messages aren't included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with the iPhone's backup, and the same for contacts unless you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, which must be manually selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Before syncing contacts with the Address Book app on your Mac, enter one contact in the Address Book app on your Mac. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.
The same applies to calendar events before the first sync with iCal on your Mac.
If you transfer your iTunes library from your PC to your Mac per the instructions included with this link, no iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased with the first sync with iTunes on your Mac.

  • Restored from iCloud backup but where are my contacts

I have lost some of my contacts and restored it from iCloud backup and it still didn't help, how can I get my contacts back? I have had contacts on in the ocotillo settings and my contacts are still missing... Also if I pick a further back backup then I will loss my current data, what should I do?

Were you syncing your contacts with iCloud?  If so, go to icloud.com on your computer and see if they are still there.  If they are, sign into the same iCloud account on your phone in Settings>iCloud, then turn Contacts syncing to On, and if prompted, choose Merge.

  • Where are my notes after IOS5 updating?

I just updated me iphone 4 to IOS5, and lost all my notes from 2011.  I synced the phone prior but can't find them.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Notes are like contacts. They don't live in iTunes. They would be syncing to Mail on a Mac or Outlook on a PC. I sync with a Mac, so I don't know off hand if there is another supported application for notes on the PC. Look at the info tab in iTunes. See what your options are. That will at least tell you where you can look, although if you never set them up to sync, they may be gone.
At least going forward you can sync them with iCloud.

  • Why are my contacts in icloud different to those on my iphone?

Why are my contacts only partially downloaded to icloud and also in a different format? I want them to be exactly the same as on my iphone 4.

Welcome to the Apple Community Rob.
    Please try the following…
        1.    First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
        2.    Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
        3.    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • Where are my photos in icloud

Went on iCloud.com but cannot find my photos. Have 1000 photos in the cloud via my iPod, but can only see 500 on my apple TV and NOT the latest one. On iCloud.com I see not a single one - where are my photos?

Sorry I am too stupid for this.
Via Apple TV I see photos from March this year and they have been in the cloud since then!
Via iPod and iMac I see photos from April should they not disappear after 30 days as they will only be "stored" for 30 days. And why such chaos, different devices with different photos but the same cloud. If pictures will only be stored for 30 days everything should be easy. This is the reason why I tried to see what is going on my cloud.

  • HT4890 where are my photos on iCloud?

I've been backing up photos from my iphone 4 to iCloud (previously Moblle Me) and now I can't find them. Where are they? Thanks

Photos in the camera roll are backed up to an icloud backup (IF backup is turned on in an iOS device and Camera Roll is turned on - this does not pertain to a mac  [this is the icloud on my mac forum]).  However, you can't look into a backup to view your photos.
iCloud does not have a gallery like the former MobileMe.

  • HT2500 where are my contacts?

I'm new to my Mac Air and after setting up my email accounts I don't seem to have any contacts unless I hand type them in...can I import them from my old laptop?

If your "old laptop" a Mac.  If so, you should sign up for iCloud (free).  You would sync your user data (such as contacts) to iCloud using your previous Mac, with an Apple ID log in.  Then, by logging onto the same iCloud account (Apple ID), your new MacBook Air would sync to your iCloud account.
There is also Migration Assistant, which will bring over user data from an old Mac to a new Mac. It should have run automatically during the initial startup.  But if you did not use it then (which is actually a smart move to make sure your MacBook Air is running normally before migrating all of stuff into it), you can run it at any time from the Applications/Utilities/ folder.
If your old laptop is Windows, you can try using Windows Migration Assistant
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4796
    (which is something fairly new).
