Dear all expert,
I want to make XL Reprter report that will give information about Purchase Order, Down payment and Outgoing payment. I make an UDF that will give connection between those table. But I dont know how to make the correlation between those table using my UDF in XL Reporter. Every time I want to show data from PO, Down payment and Outgoing which is contain that UDF, It's alwaya blank..
Is there someone that can help me how to call data from those table using UDF as a connection ? Thanks for your help

Dear Suraj,
where i can find Advance designer tab ? This is the query that I used
SELECT T0.[DocDate], T0.[DocNum], T0.[DocStatus], T0.[CardName], T0.[DocTotal] 'Total SPK',
(Select Sum(T1.[DocTotal]) 'DP' FROM OPOR T0 INNER JOIN ODPO T1 ON T0.DocNum = T1.U_SPK WHERE T0.[DocStatus] = 'O' and T0.[Series] = '52') 'DP',
(Select Sum(T2.[DocTotal]) 'Payment' FROM OPOR T0 INNER JOIN OPCH T2 ON T0.DocNum = T2.U_SPK WHERE T0.[DocStatus] = 'O' and T0.[Series] = '52') 'Payment'
FROM OPOR T0 INNER JOIN ODPO T1 ON T0.DocNum = T1.U_SPK INNER JOIN OPCH T2 ON T0.DocNum = T2.U_SPK
WHERE T0.[DocStatus] = 'O' and T0.[Series] = '52'
GROUP BY T0.[DocDate], T0.[DocNum], T0.[DocStatus], T0.[CardName], T0.[DocTotal]

• How to pass where condition to report for condition

hello people ,
i want to pass where condition for the report statement .
for example ,
select ename from emp
i want to pass parameter carry <where deptno=40>
thanks

Good Morning oracleuser,
If we understood correctly, Bind references (or bind variables) should use this issue.
a>select ename from emp where deptno= :Dept_Number

• CASE Statement in Where Condition with Multi Valued parameter in SSRS

Hi All,
I am little confused while using CASE statement in Where condition in SSRS. Below is my scenario:
SELECT
Logic here
WHERE
Date IN (@Date)AND
(CASE
WHEN NAME LIKE 'ABC%' THEN 'GROUP1'
WHEN ID IN ('123456', '823423','74233784') THEN 'GROUP2'
WHEN ABC_ID IS NULL THEN 'GROUP3'
ELSE 'GROUP4'
END ) IN (@GROUP)
So above query uses WHERE condition with CASE statement from @GROUP parameter. I want to pass this parameter as multi- valued parameter and hence I have used CASE statement IN (@GROUP).
For @Date one dataset will pass the available and default values and
for @GROUP parameters, another dataset will pass the available and default values.
But this is not working as expected. Please suggest me where I am making mistake in the query.
Maruthu | http://sharepoint-works.blogspot.com

Hi Maruthu,
According to your description, I create a sample report in my local environment. It works as I expected. In your scenario, if the selected values from the Date parameter contains some of the Date field values, the selected values from the GROUP parameter
contains some of GROUPS (‘GROUP1’,’GROUP2’,’GROUP3’,’GROUP4’) and the corresponding when statement is executed , then the dataset returns the corresponding values.
In order to trouble shoot this issue, could you tell us what results are you get and what’s your desired results? If possible, you can post the sample data with sample dataset, then we can make further analysis and help you out.

The above code works fine and I get the correct numeric values from the SQL
query when the varchar2 end_svc_dt field is numeric however if I have encoded
the word 'PRESENT' in the varchar2 end_svc dt field the SQL query aborts at
the last statement in the WHERE condition. The beg_svc_dt field is a Date field.
and (SUBSTR(END_SVC_DT,5,2) - SUBSTR(BEG_SVC_DT,1,2)+1) not in ('30')
I get the following error message
ERROR ORA-0722 INVALID NUMBER
I encode the word 'PRESENT' in a varchar2 end_svc_dt field on an Oracle form. This is the only word that can be encoded.
Is there some way that I can bypass the last statement in the where condition and
compute the values from the SQL query without having the SQL query abort?
Eventually I want to do this in a report. I know that this sounds strange but can it be done?

The above code works fine and I get the correct

Storting dates in VARCHAR2 columns is bad practice, poor design and makes for horrible code.
The beg_svc_dt field is a Date field.
and (SUBSTR(END_SVC_DT,5,2) -
SUBSTR(BEG_SVC_DT,1,2)+1) not in ('30')If it's a date field then why on earth are you trying to SUBSTR it. SUBSTR = sub-string i.e. take a sub section of a string not sub-date.
I get the following error message
ERROR ORA-0722 INVALID NUMBERAnd you're surprised by this?
Is there some way that I can bypass the last
statement in the where condition and
compute the values from the SQL query without having
the SQL query abort?Store your dates properly, use additional flag columns for non-date information and code your SQL properly.
Eventually I want to do this in a report. I know
that this sounds strange but can it be done?Yes, most things are possible.

• Multiple where conditions in one parameter

Hi,
Is it possible to have more than one where condition in one parameter?
For example, my WHERE_CLAUSE parameter holds the value "where id='12345' and name='john smith'"
when i run the report, I get a [052008_033528064][][EXCEPTION] java.lang.NullPointerException at oracle.apps.xdo.dataengine.DataTemplateParser.getObjectVlaue(Unknown
Source) Thus the sql statement did not execute.
But if I change the WHERE_CLAUSE to "where id='12345'" or "where name='john smith'" it works fine.
My observation is that if there are two where conditions, BI publisher wont allow it. Am I correct?
But the report has to be open to the possibility of having more than one where clause condition. Is there a work around for this?
Thanks,
Shanak

nope your mistaken. bip will handle multiple joins.
1. make sure the where_clause parameter is defined in your package.
2. make sure use & syntax
3. make sure your sql is not malformed. This is probably the issue.
4. also, read my article on bind variables. the practice of coding the actual value in a where clause should be avoided at all costs. Causes the query execution plan to be reparsed each time that particular query is executed.

• Convert WHERE condition to OBIEE using available OBIEE function

I have this WHERE condition which has to be attached to a Logical Table Source (Content Tab). This condition exists in my BO Universe and has to be applied to my OBIEE project.
TRUNC(SYSDATE) >= NVL(QP.QP_LIST_LINES.start_date_active, TRUNC(SYSDATE))
AND TRUNC(SYSDATE) < NVL(QP.QP_LIST_LINES.end_date_active,TRUNC(SYSDATE)+1)
Using the functions in OBIEE, I ended up with this WHERE condition but seems not to work because when I compared the results, they are different.
CURRENT_DATE >= IFNULL(ABCDE."Price List Lines"."Item Start Date", CURRENT_DATE ) AND CURRENT_DATE < IFNULL(ABCDE."Price List Lines"."Item End Date", CURRENT_DATE + 1)
Please help me correct this.
Thank you in advance.

• Getting an error saying no primary index is used in where condition in SCI.

Hi,
I have develped a report using table PAYR.
The selection -screen of this report consists of Runid, Identification and Payment date.
The select qurey i used is
SELECT chect
zaldt

znme1
voidd
FROM payr INTO TABLE it_details
WHERE laufd EQ p_laufd AND
laufi EQ p_laufi AND
zaldt EQ p_date.
But when i check the code with code inspector im getting an error saying no primary index is used in where condition.
How can i solve this problem.
Pls. provide some pointers.
Thanks.

HI Deepti,
The problem is since the fields used in where condition is not mentioned in any of the indexes created for table ( you can check the maintained indexes for table by clicking on the 'Indexes' button or ctrl+F5)
Atlease include MANDT in where condition, or create your own index with the fields which you have used in SELECT query.
this will solve the problem

• Single SQl Query with different where conditions

Experts,
I have a requirement to design a report. Here are the details
I have Report table layout
Profit center Gross sales (This Year) Gross Sales (Last Year) % change Year of Year
The Report has a selection of entering the Start Date.
I have a single table in oracle which has profit center and Gross Sales Values on daily basis.
I want to write a single sql query to calculate both Gross Sales current year and Gross Sales Last Year. I can calculate Gross Sales Current Year by putting the where condition for start date = Current Year Date which i pass through report. I want to calculate the Gross Sales Last Year in the Same query by putting the different where condition i.e start date = Last Year date based on the date input.
I dont know how to put two where conditions in single query for two different columns.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Santosh

instead of changing your where clause couldn't you just determine the yearly totals from your table and then use the lag statement to get last years total?
something like this?
I just made up 10,000 days worth of sales and called it fake table it is supposed to represent a variant of the table you were describing as your base table.
with fake_table as
( select trunc(sysdate + level) the_day,
level daily_gross_sales
from dual
connect by level < 10001
select yr, year_gross_sale, lag(year_gross_sale) over (order by yr) prev_year_gross_sale,
(year_gross_sale - lag(year_gross_sale) over (order by yr))/year_gross_sale * 100 percent_change
from
(select distinct yr, year_gross_sale from
select the_day,
daily_gross_sales,
extract(year from the_day) yr,
extract(year from add_months(the_day,12)) next_yr,
sum(daily_gross_sales) over (partition by extract(year from the_day)) year_gross_sale

• Dump using Dynamic WHERE condition (EXISTS + subquery)

Hi experts,
I want to use dynamic WHERE here, but I got a problem when using EXISTS + subuery.
Here is my code snippet:
And the actual SQL sentence should be like this:
When I execute this program, an exception CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SEMANTICS is raised and the program dumps.
Dump Information:
Short text
A dynamically specified column name is unknown.
Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYNAMIC_OSQL_SEMANTICS', was
not caught in
procedure "FRM_GET_ALL_PROD_ORDERS" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a
RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
An Open SQL clause was specified dynamically. The contained field name
"EXISTS" does not exist in any of the database tables from the FROM clause.
I'm confused because the plain text of my WHERE condition looks good. Could you tell me why I encountered this problem?

• Checkbox Value in where condition of query

Hi,
I have a check box which shows values based on the LOV's . If i check on the checkbox the values that are selected on the check box must be used in the where condition to update the table.

Am using the below methos to update but its not happening
Declare
old_cohort_name varchar2(500);

l_cohort_id apex_application_global.vc_arr2;

where cohort_id = :p64_cohort_id and
cohort_id = l_cohort_id; // here is the variable i am using when checkbox is checked
End if;
End;
Please suggest me how to modify the code
Tx
Sudhri

Hi Sudhri,
where cohort_id = :p64_cohort_id and
cohort_id = l_cohort_id; // here is the variable i am using when checkbox is checked If this is the code you are actually using, then the condition would only be met if l_cohort_id = :p64_cohort_id because you are using an AND condition over the same column in the where clause, so it will only return rows when both values are the same. Then, I think that it seems not to be working for you because :p64_cohort_id and l_cohort_id have different values, and no row is getting updated then. If the values you are selecting in your checkboxes are several ids of rows to update, besides the one with id :p64_cohort_id, then maybe the condition you need is something like this:
WHERE cohort_id = :p64_cohort_id OR instr(l_cohort_id, cohort_id) != 0;Hope that helps.

• Num and Value in Where condition

Hi all,
I have table:
create table T1
f1 fixed (1),
f2 boolean
then:
insert into T1 values (1,null)
and query:
select f2,Num(Value(f2,False)),Num(Value(null,False)) from
(select max(f1) x from t1)
left join t1 on x=f1
where 22 =Num(Value(f2,False))
Statement 'select f2 from (select max(f1) x from t1) left join t1 on x=f1 where 22 ...' successfully executed in 0 ms.
Result: ?;0;0
This is a bug? Known bug?
KR Lukasz.

Hi Holger,
sorry it does nothing. Query still returns rows.
Thank you for help and explanation very much. I'm waiting to next MAXDB relase(s).
BTW
I have fixed this problem in that way:
select f2,Num(Value(f2,False)),Num(Value(null,False)) from
(select max(f1) x, 22 k from t1)
left join t1 on x=f1
where Num(Value(f2,False))=k
query does not return rows but... execution plan contains 䕘偒䕓卉低⁗䥔䠠††††††††††††††††††††††††.
Simple correction in where condition:
select f2,Num(Value(f2,False)),Num(Value(null,False)) from
(select max(f1) x, 22 k from t1)
left join t1 on x=f1
where Num(Value(f2,False))-k=0
And execution plan is proper too.

• Issue in using presentation variable as filter condition in the reports

Hi,
I have an issue in using presentation variable as filter condition in my reports the details are as follows:
Details :
We want to implement the Max and Min variables through Presentation variables only.we do not want to implement it through session variables in this case.
We have two variables MIN and MAX to be used as Presentation Variables, for a column of the report (which is a quantity),so that the user wants to see the data for this column within a particular range.i.e the Min and the Max.This part has been implemented well . The issue is when the user wants to see the full data.In that case we will not pass any values to these two Presentation Variable or in other words we are not restricting the report data so we are not passing any value to the variables, this is when the report is throwing the error. we want to leave this variables blank in that case.but this is giving error.
Please suggest how can I overcome this issue.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Praveen

i think you have to use guided navigation for this. create two reports first is the one you are having currently and second is the one in which remove the presentation variable from the column formula. i.e. the same report with no aggregation applied.
Now create a dummy report and make it return value only when the presentation variable value is not equal to max or min. guide the report to navigate between the first and second report based on the result of the dummy report.
